Midwest love affair I bend when I am bored Late night liquor blue Will lead me to the floor. Can we fake it? Can we make believe? I'm so full of love It deeply sickens me. But all I could do was close my eyes And cross my arms and hope to die Cause you don't fucking listen When I'm around. The least you could do is take it back All the vicious remarks and verbal attacks Cause I can't fucking stand it. When You're Around. Midwest aftermath, the rumors start to rise Did I truly do the things that you've described? They must hate me, every single one It just sickens them, what I consider fun. But all I could do was close my eyes And cross my arms and hope to die Cause you don't fucking listen When I'm around. The least you could do is take it back All the vicious remarks and verbal attacks, Cause I can't fucking stand it. When You're Around. But all I could do was close my eyes And cross my arms and hope to die Cause you don't fucking listen When I'm around. The least you could do is take it back All the vicious remarks and verbal attacks Cause I can't fucking stand it. When You're Around. No I can't fucking stand it, when you're around. No I can't fucking stand it, when you're around.
Dude same i'm 18 and only now finding out about this 🥲 wish i grew up a few years before, now most of my favorite rock bands have disbanded before i even started listening to them
Yeah, you missed out for sure. I got to see these guys live with Rufio when I was 16 in 2003 for like 6 bucks per ticket, and there was only 100-200 people in the venue. It was awesome. At least you have RUclips to find every song in an instant, though! We used to have to scour random sites to find demo recordings of bands like this before they got big.
The lyrics are about the singer's self medication habits. His sober self is essentially angry at his drunk self. I originally thought this song was about a toxic ex lol
I thought the same thing when I first heard this in high school. But then struggling a little bit with alcohol in my twenties and early thirties (I'm 33) I totally got it. Such an amazing album!
Leave it to me. Reliving my teen years listening to these songs now at 30... this is album is too relevant to my life 2020
Motion city soundtrack never gets old. I still listen to all the bands from early 2000s. Nothing beats it.
real
I'm so full of love
it deeply sickens me.
absofuckinglutely
I’m 30 too, picking them back up again, Haven’t listened to them since before I was 20.
Man this album holds up incredibly well. Fucking classic.
Relistening no less than 17 years later and its better than it was back then. These mfs were genuinely talented.
41 yrs old and this song still hits me
No joke one of the catchiest choruses of all time
This is still incredible

Late night liquor flu will lead me to the floor*
when pop punk bands covered this on a gasoline station, that was a gem.
I'm 28 now, I think this album came out when I was in 7th grade. I remember seeing MCS on Steven's Untitled Rock Show on Fuse. Good memories.
I'm 33, this came out my sophomore year of high school. Now I'm a high school Spanish teacher and I still listen to this album constantly.
43 now and this takes me back to good times and questionable nights.
Discovered the band through Everything is Alright whilst playing the OG Saints Row. I'm 16, man, why can't my generation listen to gold like this?

The beginning of this song always makes me think I'm on a pirate ship level of a high energy side scrolling video game. 🤘😎

How about that acoustic version or was it a demo? Regardless it was even better than the studio one. I’m 24 now and fully comprehend MCS.

Why have I just realized that it says “You’re’”
@@yarmyTV The "You're" is in quotation marks.
It's been fifteen years and I still don't know if this is about a toxic person or about his drunk self.
@@yarmyTV woosh *right over the head*
The video always gets stuck at the end.
