I remember breaking up with my girlfriend in high school and just sitting behind some gas station somewhere for like 5 hours and listening to this in the freezing gray weather. I think the beauty of this song is that you can make your own meaning, sure when Justin wrote it he had his own experiences in mind, but it's so versatile that you can take it and apply it to your own life.

This song brings out so much in me. Being hold how much you make someone "burst and bloom", but still not being enough; still holding them down. "I love you, however" is one of the worst combinations of words that one can hear. Things being so good, but just not quite enough.

I listened to it, expecting a song about the proclamation of love rather than that "i love you, however," that the song is. from then on it became an inside joke between us, and we would joke about how we hold each other down. looking back on it more than a year later, i probably was the one holding him down.
