I spent hours trying to defeat the DLC's final boss, and i finally got him first try with this build
lol ya its broken
Same
Im gonna try it. I got so annoyed with not beating him I beat the base and played it again 😂
Ah, yes. The legend of "Let Me Tank Him" in a single build.
Great build, but the antspur rapier also inflicts bonus scarlet rot to enemies at the cost of slightly reduced range.
Decreased range which is very needed so you are not whiffing shots. Less damage overall compared to the cleanrot knight sword. Cleanrot sword has better scalling with Strenght which you are using for the shield anyways. The bosses die before you get to proc scarlet. All of these reasons make the cleanrot the number 1 option for me. :D
@@OUSAYT Fair point.
@@OUSAYT
Not on ng+7
I leveled both the cleanrot sword and a Pike to lvl 25 w/blood affinities. Both scale equally but it seems the pike may have slightly higher damage and farther reach. Not sure if the attack speed is slower? Thoughts?
plus the fact that upon proccing scarlet rot, you are not getting any benefit from the buildup for the duration of the rot, which would ultimately cut off about 16-17% of a boss health bar. Meanwhile, bleed can start building up again immediately, and deals about 10.5% of their health almost immediately.
I had a similar build on the last run. But I use other things. For example the Tree Sentinel Set gives more protection against holy damage. As well as Haligtree Crest Greatshield. You simply won't feel a significant difference between them and the heaviest armor and shields. Why so many stats in str? Instead, we take at least 50 in arcane and take a normal weapon with bleeding. Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear - Sword Lance - Bloody Helice. Sword Lance is generally a multifunctional thing, and a sword, and you can hit from behind the shield, and you can hang bleeding, and any ash of war.
This is one of those moments. Like giving the potion to Nepheli so you gain a puppet. 😂
Worth considering 12 INT.
Scholar's Shield is an amazing addition to any blocking build.
For bleed immune bosses maybe either rot or cold (maybe both if you can spare the weight for two weapons). Because yes, turtle poking with no status takes forever.
Ahhhh the Havel build
Good vid, straight to the point 👍
Man, thank you SO MUCH! I've spent so much time trying to beat PC Radahn with my dex katana duo build, then tried several more builds, most of which made things even worse, then changed weapon to falx and that somebody-dancer blade - it went a bit smoother, but I still couldn't reach the end of that fricking health bar. With your build it was in one try and so ridiculously easy I've laughed myself out in the end.
Love to see it hahah
Finally a good build that doesn’t rely on tons of buffs. THANKYOU
Good build. You can improve it with a little tweak in the stats so you can use:
Golden Vow (+damage & +defense)
Bestial Vitality (HP regen).
And for slower bosses you can even use the Ironjar Aromatic to make you nearly unkillable.
For sure, the build was more casual and chill and still shreds and survives everything with 6+ flasks at the end. To go that route you definitely need harder content lol
Now the dlc has golden vow consumables lol so you can completely ignore faith if you farm/trade it. It's slightly better than the ash of war but slightly less stats boost than the incantation.
@@anthonyandrade5071 Nice, gonna check it out.
Actually the HP regen crystal tear surprisingly also counts as an HP regen buff so it doesn't stack with any HP regen spells like Beastial Vitality.
@@xQc_Enjoyer777 Sad, would be cool if it did stack.
You can do it on lower stam and you don't need rolling so go max armor fat roll.
It is easier this way so you can dodge if you have to and have alot of stamina to work with. Boss grabs are easy to handle with a medium roll :)
they’re easy to handle fat rolling too
Or just add bloddhound step lol
@evantaylor1378 The shield has a skill so that's not feasible unless you have a greatshield with no skill
if you fat rolling, you can use the talisman that also raises your defense with higher equipment load
Thank you so much bro. Got it first try with the build. I just couldnt anymore i dropped around 70 attempts with my regular build and just couldnt anymore second phase was too much. Great build thank you again
Glad I could help
Dude, this build helped me first try Prime Rhadan. Thank tou so much❤
Glad to hear it!
After 2weeks of fighting radahn , this build was what helped me win
You can use a great spear too. Blood Fiends works great.
Tried Bloodfiends as you suggested. First try after many fails. Thanks dude 👍
Trying this with Bloody Helice, and really enjoying it. Thank you for the build.
Glad you enjoy it!
Awesome! That is the armor set that I currently use.
Good choice!
why not the godskin stitcher
2:37 you can also get this EARLY game in Aoenia, from the cleanrot knights that spawn here, but it does have incredibly low chance to drop. For a farming spot much earlier in the game, starting at the Inner Aeonia Site of Grace, head South through the roots and there will be a Cleanrot Knight amidst several Aoenian Butterflies
Facts
If your heavy rolling instead of the pearl or heavy talisman try the Verdigris Discus instead.
Fingerprint shieild should be considered too. Slightly more stamina use is a good trade for slightly less damage taken from element's.
Thanks bro. Final boss tormented me in my dreams. Not any longer!
Niceee
Absolutely best build i beat final boss on first try 🔥🔥🔥
nagakiba spear is better thrusting weapon for this build imo, i used it with fingerprint shield + shield grease in very similar build, walked through entire game except malenia lol
Yep
Thx m8. This build helped me to finish the DLC 😊
Glad I could help!
Holy shit dude I almost never comment but this build worked first try wasn’t exactly what you did but close enough thank you I already beat him twice before but i just hit a wall on this run.
Glad it was of help
Thank you for this setup, it really helped me against Messmer.
Glad I could help!
You pretty much wasted 2 talisman slots on Dragoncrest and Jar talismans since shields negate 100% physical dmg and you can go Winged Crystal Tear to get free equip load. Always keep Pearl Shield on and for the last one take Pearldrake since they stack.
The winged crystal tear lasts for 3 minutes too. More than enough time to kill a boss
Alternatively you can swap the jar out with Verdigris and just accept being overloaded for 20% extra all defense negation, or just heavy for 10%.
I run dragoncrest, verdigris, pearlshield, then alternate the pearldrake with a +3 drake elemental talisman or golden braid depending on if the enemy uses a single element or not. If they're a single element user I trade out pearldrake with whatever element they use. If not I just keep pearldrake on. elemental protection Incants do most of the lifting anyways so it doesn't hurt to have physical damage protection from Dragoncrest for extra leeway if you run out of stamina or accidentally drop your shield at a wrong time.
Thanks to you, I am helping people to defeat the evil final boss. Thanks for the video
Haha have fun!
Just breezed through dlc radon this is a must have right here that’s a sub
+ Fingerprint Shield (higher DEF, enough guard) and makes u use ashes of war (no skill on shield)
+ Mogh spear (for AOE SPELL) i added to this setup.
I use the cleanrot as basic and mogh for aoe or wall cheese attacks with the ash of war on it.
I'm using something very similar but with a blood antspur rapier
Any rapier works honestly :)
you can further buff your shield with "scholars shield" to negate even more damage-... there will almost always not even chip damage coming through
Moors greatshield is a somber weapon so it can’t be buffed
@@user-zq1uc5cg7x that is not true. I just confirmed ingame that "scholar's shield" can be cast on Moors shield.....
@@Fabsterman hmm that’s really odd. That’s definitely good news though!
scholars shield
Holy crap, i've just beat the DLC with this build. many love & best regards
Awesome, love to see it :)
The Chonk Knight! Might try this out. Lezzgaww beefyboiz.
Very fun ngl
@@OUSAYT Would probably quite the change from my ninja squirrel rolley boy but hey, its probably about time for a change 😂
Can build work with the cross naginata?
Another tear suggestion instead of the Crimsonburst Crystal Tear you can use the Crimson-Sapping Cracked Tear which, "grants attacks HP-restoring affects in mixed physick." I'm not sure of the duration or if it stacks with the Great Rune but something else to consider.
I used a very similar build vs malenia which was more focused around the blood infused great lance and crag blade ash of war. While it is very difficult to deal with the constant healing it is possible to get her down without too much trouble especially with the mimic tear.
It will take forever lol but your damage has to be on point to overcome her healing
by picking the spear who have a great stagger, you can can break the combo of malenia and out burst her healing.
You should have noted that you can basically do the same build with the Fingerprint Shield and Bull Goat set, which don't require the DLC and can be acquired much earlier. Personally though I think I'd swap out for the Visage shield, since it gives you a really good tool against swarms and invaders.
This build is just easier to get with the DLC. Most people would have skipped patches questline. It bullies invaders fr tho
Swapped the Cleanrot Knight's sword for a bleed infused Antspur Rapier and this build was so broken I just tanked out the DLC final boss! Thanks for uploading this!!!
You are welcome! Thanks for the feedback.
Of all the builds I’ve tried in elden ring, this one works fricking miraculously
😁
Maliketh too his destined death attack can still hit better dodge his multi attacks than tanking it
Jeebus, just poke the bleed resist/immune bosses with poison or rot then... Not sure how much fun shieldpoke is, but it IS effective.
I never use shields in souls so it was kinda fun and refreshing while it lasted
Only thing i’d really swap is the weapon of choice from the clean rot sword to bloody hellus or u could use the stitcher as they have more range & dmg
personal preference because that’s what I use
Ah yes the tank build. Simple but effect, my favorite type of build since dark souls 1 even Havel would gave you props on this one 👏💯
Couldn't agree more!
I already beat the DLC with another build but would love to try this as well. Too bad it kinda starts off really late
it would be fun to level with something similar.
Fingerprint shield and bull goats armor which you kinda get a bit late game. May be veteran set with some heavy shield should work :)
@@OUSAYT Yeah I think I will go the bleed lance and brass shield start type of thing which would be super easy to get going! using the skip to mimic tear to get the bleed whetstone a bit further up.
You can swap the turtle talisman for the 2 headed turtle talisman from DLC to get an even better Stamina Regen
Yeah, it is the one i recommended in the video as well :D
And them comes Momy and says "A shield? How cute... Let's stay here beating eachother for an hour"
I used this same build for 2 complete play througha of the dlc.
So it’s good on ng plus?
I've been using shieldpoke since the beginning and went 100-0 in the early days of Arena
Dayum
1:26 Ez, you change the infusion with Occult.
Valid, ngl.
@@OUSAYT You can also use a spear with natural bleed build up, infuse it with Occult and it will boost the dmg while also maintaining some decent blood loss build up. Like for example the Spiked Spear (dropped by the Marionette Soldiers), or the new Bloodfiend's Fork.
I gave spears a try and I definitely enjoyed rapiers more. Faster attacks and a decent stamina consumption. Spears could work too for sure 👍
Great build!! Will be trying this out today to help others after I just beat the DLC!! Just one question, antspur rapier or the one you suggested in the video?
I have tested both, the rapier he uses has better damage and longer reach. However the Antspur Rapier bleed infused also inflicts scarlet rot, which is great with boss with huge health bars for the tick damage. In coop for example where boss HP bar is inflated the bonus scarlet rot helps.
@@LionVenice thank you!
Wait so do I pick any ash if war or what
Cool build, I'm struggling with Messmer now and may have to switch to this build. Will this also tank those A-hole Furnace Golems?
This build will help against alot of bosses messmer included. The furnace golums you gotta learn their fights, they are pretty easy. Jump up when the leg reaches a high point, move away when it jumps up. Stagger the boss 3 times fora stagger. Ez
@OUSAYT Thumbs up man! 😅👍
Argh! I had Messmer last night down to a sliver of health, and he killed me before my Mimic Tear killed him, so it didn't count. Just wondering, do you block all of his snake attacks, or do you dodge any of them?
I guess this the build "Let Me Tank Him" guy is using.
💀
HEY if your going to use a heavy load or overloaded instead of great jars arsenal use the new verdigris discus talisman it raises attack power when you have a heavier load
It increases your physical and elemental resistances not attack power. But yeah, if you go that route. Its pretty good to tank :)
@@OUSAYT thanks for correcting me now I know why my character can tank through anything
check the spear from mannequins. it'll do bleed buildup even when you change its affinity... change it to frost btw, most bosses are affected by either one or both. as ash of war I like the battle cry from the gladiators, I forgot it's name, it'll boost up stamina regen (among other things).
ash of war name is braggart's roar, for those interested.
It would work ya, I strayed away from spears so not to consume alot of stamina for the build since it is very much needed for blocking.
@@OUSAYT Indeed, it does eat up a lot of my stamina... But I found the damage from bosses did more damage to my stam. I take Midras for example, his normal hit combo will eat away 50% of stam while a few hit from my spear will eat much less. (I think it's due to NG+, or being summoned with another furled finger for a boss and such, boss will do more raw damage...)
On a few bosses I had range trouble because of their hitboxes, I was happy to have a long reach weapon (longer than antspur rapier at least haha).
Do take a look at a truly "tanky" build, as in you have to keep the boss's attention on yourself to protect the host. It drove me to use the shabriri's woes to keep my aggro at max and I started using the smithscript weapon, the spear notably... very weak damage from far, but allows to regain the aggro on boss if host is in trouble and far. It's a very particuliar feel, a step higher (more difficult) than pure "BONK" tank, aka "easy mode" (gratshield and spear, my love... People be loving over magic or katana, meh...)
Sorry for the big comment, thanks for responding to previous comment and reading. And of course, thanks for the vid.
What is your shield guard boost? It highly affects how much stamina is consumed on blocks. I appreciate the comments and feedback, much love.
@@OUSAYT fingerprint shield for the extra non-physical resistance. I know verdigris is better on guard boost, I'll give it a try. (guard boost talisman equipped of course.)
I've maxed out stamina to be able to wear big armor and such, still medium roll and have the fourth talisman slot freed up.
Crimsonburst crystal tear "never see anyone use this one", been using it from day 1 ;(.
haha its so niche
I had similar builds like this one, inspired from "let me tank him". I used the new solitude set because I still want to roll and free up talisman slot instead of equipping the jar, and the drip paired with verdigiris shield is better. For my weapon, I have gaius' spear with blood affinity. Talismans: two-head turtle, greatshield, pearl-shield, blood exultation. Golden vow + FGMS and Scholar's shield is a great combo. In my Radahn run, I do 2.4k per poke + bleed proc. This build feels like cheating, it's fun lol.
Thats what I am saying lol
You can use any greatshield and any lance or large thrusting sword with spear talisman and frost enhancement. You can get way more damage with it. Don't use these bleed-toothpicks please
Hey, is this still good build? And is possible to clear whole DLC, please? Or do you recommend any other build? Honestly looking for easy time in DLC :-D
This build will make the whole game easy mode. 100%
@@OUSAYT thanks :)
hello bro can i know what item you use for life steal.i see your hp going up when you hit the boss sorry for my bad english
Malenia's great rune. It restores health with damage after you take a hit. Defeat Malenia to get it. Activate it in the tower. Equip it at a grace. Finally, use a rune arc. :)
Try the Sword Lance
If the boss is bleed immune but not rot immune antspur rapier would be a good pick for rot, you could also make it a poison antspur rapier so it does poison and rot. if its immune to both.... maybe use a heavy thrusting sword that's occult? Occult godskin stitcher with storm blade is good and gives you a ranged attack, or run like a quality godskin stitcher with hoarfrost stomp, you can run the fingerprint or haligtree crest shields if you need to use an ash. For malenia you can easily tweak this to run rivers of blood as well. A build like this but with a blood antspur rapier is how i killed consort radahnn haha, its good
any good build for base game
why not the antspur rapier?
I’m max level. So I can use the Poison Antspur Rapier with the Kindred of Rot Talisman instead of Great Jar cuz I don’t need the carry weight.
Ya :)
let's see it tank status effects
hmm, i think with this taken to 200 is fine level wise, if this is planned as mainly pve, and cooperative.
Which case, starting as a hero class
50 vigor
9 mind
80 endurance
50 strength
15 dex
7 int
8 faith
60 arc
if you bump endurance up to 80, that'll put you at just below 70% if you equip the dragoncrest greatshield talisman instead of the great jar arsenal. Which means physical negation is all reduced by about 50% at least, without blocking. elementals hovers around 25-28%. Of course while blocking, you'll see significantly more on both fronts. Now you could also swap out the verdigris shield for the fingerprint stone shield and remain medium rolling here too. It has slightly lower guard boost, but higher non physical defense and can be infused with an ash of war of your choice.
or, if you remain with the verdigris greatshield, you can take pearldrake talisman +3 instead of dragoncrest greatshield for more non physical negation, lowering your base physical negations to the 33-38% range, but boosting non physical from 25-28% to about 33-38% At ten scadutree blessings this'd hit closer to 60% for all types. You'd negate so much damage coming through. Then add in the physick, and you're gonna be unstoppable
I love the amount of thought that went into this 👏
@@OUSAYT actually, testing it out more, 60 arcane is actually not doing us a lot of good. Really we can drop that down to 43, and only lose 16 base AR and 8 bleed buildup per hit. That's seventeen levels elsewhere, and if we shave off the 1 in strength, and 2 in dex i had over the minimum stats for our shield and sword, that leaves us with 20 levels elsewhere, and either lets us drop this to 180 level and still achieve pretty much the same effect, or we can say, put those into mind, bring that up to 29, and bump our fp from 75 to 168, which then opens up a lot of options for skills on the cleanrot sword as well as spirit ashes. which is where i think the Ash of War Blood Tax comes in.
It's essentially the a series of 4 quick stabs, will apply about 300% of your bleed buildup in a quick succession, AND it also can heal you. If all 4 hits connect it's 10% plus 120HP. It's relatively easy to get early as it's in mogh's area around the lake in a cave, and it provides the bleed affinity naturally. It's the same ash of war on Varre's bouqet. Yes it costs 30fp, but if we're only using our fp bar for that or spirit ashes, it's not a big deal.
One other thing, the dlc introduced a golden vow consumable item. It's a slightly stronger buff than the ash of war variant of golden vow, so not as strong as the incantation, but like the ash of war, it only requires the necessary fp, and is cheaper than the ash of war. The only downside is to craft it you need blessed bone shards and scadutree sunflowers. The first is a rare drop on some enemies, the second only respawns in the avater's arena.
So, in conclusion, we have a way to optimize this further and give us even more defense and healing.
Are you LET ME TANK HIM, bc when I saw you fight radahn it was like a flashback💀💀
Nope, still just as cool right? right? Hahaha
I Play the Same but with mogs great speer
That would work :) Mohg enjoyer :)
Is mogh spear good with this build?
Ya it would :)
6:54 - That's what she said
I already picked the top one tho and I don't even think he is there anymore 😢
That is okay, later on you will face him and get his armor. You use the bull goats set instead or Lionel's set if you don't have that either.
I got a question is the estoc just as good as the cleanrot knight swod are better.
They are both good and would work if you don't want to farm for the cleanrot knight sword. Simply, cleanrot has more range and dmg overall but use what you feel like using. The outcome will be the same :)
Ok thank you for the help 😊
you don’t need 50 str for the shield, you can use it even without the stats, blocks the same.
Nah say sike right now
I beat bro first try
I approve of this build
I run mine a little different I use moghs spear for my weapon and I let myself get into that heavy weight equip load and use the verdigris discus cause it gives you damage negation when you hit heavy equip load other talismans I use are the pearl shield which decreases all non physical damage while blocking. The great shield talisman to boost guarding that the two headed turtle for stamina. Moghs spear is really nice to have because the weapon art is super good on it still. I’d also recommend buffing with golden vow and and black flame protection if you take this build to level 200+
That would work too but I went this way to have a way to deal with grab attacks :)
@@OUSAYT I just let them grab me lol 90 percent of the time it’s fine the only one that’s really bad is the grab in the last fight of the dlc

whatthe? 90 guard boost? it beats even fingerprint
Ya, most people just ignore that :)
fingerprint with barricade aow matches verdigris guard boost if you have the fp to keep barricade up.
"Simply defeat Malenia" is the most oxymoronic sentence I've heard today. 😂
She's not that hard. Pre nerf Radhan was something else though.
Everyone is likely to have defeated her before the dlc. I mean its been years and so many ways you can nuke her. On top, I mentioned if you don't want to get it, its not a big deal. Morgott's works fine. :)
What can i do when i faild the qest cuz i discon and now i can't get the Option to get the Armor?
Try to get lionel's set, it should be obtainable regardless of your progression. good luck :)
Use the fingerprint shield as well, it is just as good 👍
Awesome video, dude! My option was a Bull-Goat armor set with Fingerprint Stone Shield, basically same stuff, Elden Ring switched to Easy mode for me))
Very nice! Sounds identical, you just got better drip lol
Did you try your build on NG+7 Bayle the Dread? If not, I'd give it a shot :P
Nao vai durar muito tempo. A mesma coisa aconteceu com o escudo de pedra que tinha 90 de defesa e tankava tudo,o pessoal casual e chorao reclamou e a from nerfou o escudo.
the great rune doesnt work for me, anyone know why?
Did you active it and equip it in a grace? Did consume a rune arc after that?
Ts patched?
How about bleed antspur rapier
Would work too! It has less range and damage but still works fine.
A little nasty with it
Moore keeps saying the same thing even though I bore the seal
There is another way to get this armor and shield…it’s on RUclips somewhere 😊
Is the build good on ng plus
Not sure, I cant say for sure. You will probably tank damage just fine, just the damage in question. I think it will work fine on NG+.
Your thumbnail is actually showing the regular turtle talisman, not the dlc version 🤓
Yeah, I looked for it and couldn't find a picture of it XD
Teleport didn’t take me to the divine tower
Run up the steps after teleporting and turn left. You’ll see another teleporter you need to use that takes you to the Divine Tower. If that second teleporter says you can’t use it right now you need to backtrack a grace and activate the elevator just before the stairs.
Better not be clickbaiting us
Ok did you say 60-70 arcane? You had it at 16….
