I'm certainly no master mechanic but I do question the validity of these numbers with the parts listed... I have a bone stock k20z3 with full bolt ons with a pro tune that makes 230whp & 165wtq in a 2011 FA5... his car revs similar to mine to redline... only difference is, I am catless and this build lists a HFC My build also has the HR CAI, J35 with ported RBC, Alpha header and Full Race 3" catback, again I'm running catless I don't think the 283 is whp... I'd also like to see a full dyno run and the immediate end result in whp
been researching this car since I am looking to buy one with the K20z3, and I have seen the same NA without any ITBs and all that crazy stuff. 230 seems to be the limit before you start spending thousands for small gains. I always time mph. I know my car can do 40-100mph in about 6 1/2 seconds, then I look at other similar cars and see how they do. Gives me a general idea where my car sits. Im sure if you replicate their pulls and time them you can see how much off their claims are.

Dyno numbers mean nothing really , go run the car in the 1/4 mile and see what it traps. That's the only thing that will tell the true power. If it's really 280+ whp it should be a 106-108 mph car. It definitely did not pull like one in the beginning of the video
...how high does it rev, because i've never burned through and exhaust gasket and I rev over 9k with mine. My friend's built K crx also revs to 10,500 and doesn't burn through gaskets.

i have a friend who had H22 (prelude 5G) doing about 280 HP NA (on crank). And his engine was heavily modified to do that. It was very expensive, pretty much everything inside was changed (coz of high compression ratio), but the crankshaft (only one thing kept stock). I cannot believe this K20 engine has 300 WHP just by cams.
people are all freaking out about the HP...It was dyno'ed and it was shown lol. No one is complaining about the baseline, but everyone is complaining about the numbers after the mods. I've even gotten comments from folks saying the dynograph showed less than 220hp, meaning that they do not even know how to read the graph. The sad part is that this car ended up hydrolocking in a huge rain storm and it is dead. Now he has built a new Civic Type R for the track. thing is a beast. What fuel was used on this car? The dyno plot shows 190+tq, which means you're using M5 with additives, or the claims are completely inconclusive. What does the car trap in the 1/4?
@Sergio Aguirre I totally agree that homeboy is a noob but this is my take about trap speed and quarter mile times I for example have a 10th gen civic si with just a downpipe on it on stock ecu and I did a 9.4 with a high 2.3 almost 2.4 with the stock tires of course my buddy has a fg2 si with fbo and flashpro tuned and he did a 9.4 with a 2.2 at 79mph mine was at 77mph almost 78mph so yea when you spin alot and 60ft is shitty mph will be higher but once you start to grip and 60 ft goes down mph will go down a bit ut time will be better
Your making 240 max with those cams let alone on a stock block. 283 would only be achievable if you hade some more aggressive cams along with piston and rods and e85 lol. Now if you where to go k24 with a built head then yea I could see you making those numbers on a stock bottom end.

Each pull has its own color and represents torque and power with the same color. The two red lines are the baseline of torque and power. The Green lines are the first pull on the new setup. It made 220whp. You're telling me he made 59whp more than me with drop in cams and stock injectors? Without hitting 100% duty and leaning out? Yeah right. A dyno is a tool for tuning, you do a base line to see what it does and then improve. It's not meant for precise hp measurements, every dyno reads differently. So show us sheets all you want it doesn't mean anything. Show us the 1/4 mile trap speed. I'll be impressed if it breaks 100mph lol
I guess is about 220 HP at the flywheels for stock engine even with CAMs. Probably around 160 KW at wheel max. Nothing really crazy unless the Dyno he used was reading high lol.
I/h/e/kpro gives k20a2's 200-220 whp dependant on good brands upgrage IM/Throttle body alone won't do much 5 whp maybe but with cams, valves, valve spring and retainers depending on the brand you will make 240-280whp with a good tune and supporting mods like fuel pump and injectors BC or Brian Cowers for those who don't know BC stage2 Cams will make 240 ish all day with good tune but drag cartel like you have or blue prints which both are easily 2x the cost of BC I'v seen make 280 whp on pump gas so for all the haters out there with modes he has list 270-275 is believable!

Numbers do sound weird. My boy has a K24a2 built from the valve cover to the oil pan 3 bills to the wheel. So you have spring retainers an FBO? If it is that high that's a good thing so high people don't believe you haha nice car

My 8th gen Is FBO hybrid CAI, s2 header, full race exhaust, j35 tb around 230whp it pulls just as hard IF not harder... also my injectors are at 94% duty lol and I didn't hear "injectors" on that list. I bought my civic not to long ago and it looks stock other than the carbon fiber engine covers loll. But its fucking fast and has a really loud vtec crack. But idk if its just from the tune or running internals like yours. I was laughing thinking it was a sleeper. Would be dope. Has launch control. I havent dynoed it or looked inside so i have no idea. I dont think 8th gens are that fast stock? It also has a deep suddle exhaust tone. Which i don't think is stock. Ive also hit 117 on the highway easily. Wanting to build it and get 250-300 hp but i know nothing about tuning. I had a lot of people at the street races ask me what ive done to it . Do you think its got something in it? Or does that sound like a stock fa5?
that setup has 250-260hp not WHP on pump fuel. To go over that mark you need high compression bottom end and a cnc ported head. Americans and their numbers lol
Yeah I tend to agree. It’s funny because a lot of folks go nuts for night videos, especially POV (like the rwd converted r8 manual). But most of what I do is shot in the daytime. Also this video is pretty old so I’d like to think they’ve gotten better since this

You need a built k24/k20 swap motor with higher compression and some stage 3 or 4 cams to reach those numbers. Don't claim bullshit numbers, you're just diminishing the efforts of people who ACTUALLY have 300 whp k series!

John Dough upgraded valve train and cams on e85 goes a long way buddy. My rsx makes 278/186tq k20a2 stock bottom end

that setup has 250-260hp not WHP on pump fuel. To go over that mark you need high compression bottom end and a cnc ported head. Americans and their numbers lol

Yeah I tend to agree. It’s funny because a lot of folks go nuts for night videos, especially POV (like the rwd converted r8 manual). But most of what I do is shot in the daytime. Also this video is pretty old so I’d like to think they’ve gotten better since this

that some BS numbers. That dyno is reading high or its bhp. You WONT make even CLOSE to 300 whp on a k20a2/z3 with just DC 2.2 on stock bottom end and stock compression lmfao. You need a built k24/k20 swap motor with higher compression and some stage 3 or 4 cams to reach those numbers. Don't claim bullshit numbers, you're just diminishing the efforts of people who ACTUALLY have 300 whp k series!
