Doi Doi Very true he was like Rouge One in star wars he was not the hero who saved the day he mearly helped to create the opening that would help someone else save it by buying the heroes who would save middle earth years and years of time to prepare. He may have fallen into darkness but he won something that is valuable in any war and that is time.
Speaking of Star Wars similarities, I felt like he was like the apprentice in the force unleashed, powerful video game characters who had an impact on how things played out
It's a shame it's not Tolkien canon! Very intriguing and inspiring story about a man who decided to fall so that all that is good around him stands. *claps*
Well, as a wraith he basicly lost his personality and with it prabably a lot of skill, but yes, if Frodo would face end-game/chapter 4 Talion he would be dead as shit before Gandalf even thought about checking the bushes!
Philipp Huber he smiled in some cutscenes during main storyline. Short smiles, more so amused, but smiles none the less. For example Ratbags jokes at the start of the game
It's sad in the sense he has to wait and sacrifice to go to his family in the afterlife, his sacrifice in holding back Sauron as long as he did gave the time for Bilbo and Frodo to shape the story of the ring in their own way and for middle earth to prepare for what was to come.
Honesly took me around 5-6 hours of "grinding" after the first ending, to get the "true" one. For me it was amazing, as its meant to show us, how much he had to fight and sacrifice. It helps us to immerse in the story and understand, that he did really fought in an endless war. It just makes the ending soo much better, and emotional. As after so many years, he is finally able rest in the great halls of Mandos awaiting his fate.
Luoi Nguyen No clue, pretty sure its the same flowers that Talion gave to his wife in the start of the game. It could mean that Talion is leaving the past behind(dropping his gear, dropping his son's broken sword that conveniently is near the same flowers he gave to his wife).

I'm sure Talion traveled to the same place Frodo did, regardless of him becoming a Nazgul in the end he held back Sauron from destroying Middle-Earth for decades. I'm sure his actions would grant him access to the Halls of Mandos and then to the Gift of Men after Frodo and Sam freed his soul and spirit from Sauron's grasp.

Mr. Kimidori everyone keeps saying its pay to win and shit but I didn't pay a single cent on the game and I finished act 4 and unlocked the true ending. Totally worth it.
nazgul were nine kings each given a ring of power to govern their land, the most powerful king was also a sorcerer, each ring corrupted them but gave them immortality, their leader the sorcerer king became known as the witch king..
so what happens is that Talion becomes a Nazgul afther bying time for Gondor so they could rebuild there armie (For the returne of the king event) but he was slowly being cosumed by sauron since the only way to stay in the mortal world he needed a new ring thus he took a nazgul ring (formaly isildur) but in the end frodo destroyed the one ring and freed the other nazgul so they could go in peace.
To be completely honest i loved the bit about Isildur becoming a wraith because in the stories his body was never recovered and the aftermath of his demise was a complete mystery, and its not like he stayed a wraith for the LoTR time period, i thought that was very fitting and clever idc what u tolkien fanatics say (even though im one too) i loved this game
Thank you, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks that, Shelob and Hammerhand was a bit much but the rest was cool and I enjoyed it. They didn't completely change it and they did it out of respect for the original lore, I see it as an alternate universe; if comics can have an alternate universe why can't this or any other book series. It's not like the LOTR movies were 100% accurate to the books, they would be slaves to the material and it would be boring for it to be exactly like the books page for page. It's a different story but same world, setting and feel of the books; and Tolkien fanatics have to respect that. It's not like they made Middle Earth in Europe in the modern era; now that would really be disrespectful, they didn't besmirch anyone's character or story. Except for me in Game of Thrones, usurpers all of them.
He's an idea, what if the canon and alternate paths happen at the end of shadow of mordor. Suppose in canon Talion is canon, but accepts death at the end of the game, the alternate timeline starts when Talion & Celebrimbor forge their own ring
Well it doesn't make complete sense as the nazgul men were given rings of power, specifically crafted for the purpose of dominating the minds of men. which happened almost 1000 years before Isildur was even born. So there is no way he could be considered part of the 9.
Stuart is right. Also in Celebrimbor-Sauron fight, Sauron cut the Ring of Power and since Isıldur is dead there is no way that Sauron lose that ring again. I am checking comments and still trying to find the answer about that. Rings of power? Ring of powers? Rings of powers? Isildurs? Whatever.
I did not expect to cry so hard after I finished this game. I think I spent half an hour to finally calm myself. Such a beautiful ending for a great game
cemo1999 Aragorn was not Gondorian, he was one of the Dunadien from the north. He resided in gondor after ROTK. Talion was a ranger from gondor I'm a middle earth nerd yes I know.
Impossible. Once you have become a ring wrath you are doomed to become just a shadow for all eternity without finding peace nor a phisical body. It's something worse than death. And that's why this ending doesn't make sense. The only reason I can think to explain it is that the Valar decided to give a gift for Talion for all he has done by letting him reach the afterlife.
Rest in Peace son of Gondor.. the true hero of lord of the rings for decades fighting alone hold the lines and buy time for other races and the fellowship to save middle earth!!!
there this quote I remember you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself villian. Talion is a poor soul who gave absolutely EVERYTHING to fight Sauron but still fell in the end. But he brought enough time for the unlikely hero to come along and finally save the world and him so everyone saying he doesn't deserve peace yall need to get over yourselves, he does deserve it he gave up everything to buy time how many heroes would go into a fight they knowing no matter what happens they will lose because it inevitable
People need to realize that for a game to end there HAS TO BE CREDITS AT THE END OF THE DAM STORY LINE. Shadow Wars act IV IS the story of Talion holding back Mordor until the events of the movie version since book version there IS no EYE of Sauron. THEN you get the credits. This IS the ending of Shadow of War and Talion. Not by ANY means the end of the overall story once you defeat Sauron and the Witch-king.
Time, indeed, makes the difference. Talion fought against the Nazgul for decades, holding back the forces of darkness, sacrificing his own light in the process. He's what's called an unsung hero. No one will remember him, but his sacrifice gave room for an imminent victory against the evil that is Sauron. His legacy is that victory.
There are not many games where you know it cannot end well for the protagonist from the beginning and you still wish it would in the end. I mean he died in the beginning of the first game and was revived for the time being with death being the only way he would be with his family again. The ending is one of the most Tolkien one i could think of. It does not show reunion but does not deny it either. It hints higher things instead of explicitly showing and gives feeling of something I struggle to put into the box.
Sauron says "Abandoning the ranger was a mistake" or something like that during his bossfight, complete with shelob's vision we know that Celebrimbor fucked up big time
The plot of the game is full of flaws, conveniences and broken lore from the source material... But good lord, this true ending really hit me hard in the feelings and every single hour spent playing as Talion was so worth it: the music, the way Talion finally sheds his battle armor and weapons as he finds peace, that little smile and his strong but quick pace as all the pain, loss and violence are left behind...
Truly was a surprising but yet amazing ending - I didn’t even want to play the last DLC after seeing this or continue to grind fortresses defenses and Orcs. There was no real point after shadows of war and this ending. His story is done and the game is complete ...
But you do realise The Shadow of Mordor series was trying to be its own thing, and did it amazingly well. It doesn’t have to be complete cannon and it shouldn’t be. We basically know everything from the LOTR so why not have a spin off
dani3111 dani3111 it’s probably true but they could do a game that is talion as a nazgul during the events of Lotr and how he is assigned to destroy celebrimbor (even though he is bound with Sauron)
you talk as if you were a producer or something clear that they will make more rookie games missing things like where celebrimbor was and the other characters
No that cutscene was him letting go of his family and by this his vengeance. The sword dropping (his son) and his cloak (gifted to him by his wife), as well as the rose at the end growing by the sword, and the precorrutped ctiy version of the black gate is what he is walking towards.
I really wish they did a trilogy rather than end it all here. But damn, now whenever I watch Return of the King and watch the part when Mount Doom and Sauron fall, along with the Nazgul, Imma be in my damn feels, knowing Talion dies along with the Ring and Sauron
Imagine Eltariel became so corrupted by the Ring, she awoken an evil much more ancient than Sauron..... Morgoth. And you play a Gondorian soldier who died by the hands of Orcs, and Talion returns as a spirit to guide him to face the Ancient Evil
Of all the things he left behind he only saw his son broken sword one last time knowing that he can let go the most painful moment of his life and rest in peace
When you finish get the final ending screen it gives you "The game isn't over yet the story continues" kinda deal before mention the dlc's so another game could happen
Talion's shoulders look so much less broad in that final cut scene. I'm not sure why it bugs me so much. It just looks like they slapped his head on someone else's body.
Because he was finally at peace and no longer corrupted by Isildurs ring. That's my theory for it. And he looks less broad because the cloak was pretty thick.
anyone remember in the first game you saved that one guy that had a hideout in a cave that i fought with. I never knew what happened to him. Anyone know?
They should do another game or a DLC of the time when he's a Nazgul going through the storyline leading to his death. See him fighting other characters, hopefully Gandalf etc.
Still the ending brings tears to my eyes. After so many hours playing him. Killing, running, jumping, sprinting and killing more. A lone warrior fighting like a demon. Like tomorrow is the end of the world. At last seeing him walking his final path. Towards eternity. Fuck....That's so poetic, tragic, and liberating at the same time! This game was amazing!
Ru Waring actually shelob saw in a vision that talion and celebrimbor together would've defeated sauron but nothing would have changed since celebrimbor is equally as corrupt as sauron
Celebrimbor had either two things happen to him: In ROTK, his spirit broke with the now defeated Sauron and fled to the east (you see the blue shape shoot past Mt. Doom). Or he also died, as his essence was tied to the One Ring. Likely the first is the case, as there are DLCs.
Even with the Ring destroyed, Sauron cannot die as he is a near-primordial spirit, however, the Ring's destruction crippled his power to the point of him being unable to ever reform, thus existing in a state of nothingness. Morgoth is still a threat though as he is destined to return, and he's a thousand times worse than Sauron, given the latter was his lieutenant.
No the Nazgul were Wraiths and only had features in the Wraith realm. There are two explanations: Talion, being a new Wringwraith, still had a corporeal body, and was therefore able to look human. Secondly, the directors of the game put that there to be able to identify him. Or, when Sauron died/diminished, his hold over Talion did so too, and as a result Talion reverted to being a human with a ring.
Despite it butchering the lore, these games were freakin fun and had a cooler twist to the story!! Look forward to more content from the devs!!! Maybe another game? 😏
Well, the prologue did say "Kings of Men", but it was narrated by Galadriel, who (as far as we know) knows absolutely nothing about Talion, so she is an unreliable narrator
Riccardo Ricobello the nine were around for thousands of years before Talion, Isildur and Helm were born. They were the ancient kings of Númenor given the rings of power
wouldn't call him "just some ranger", especially being bound to a wraith for decades and having all those extra years of waging war, which means he was fighting a hell of a lot longer than those Kings before they became corrupt. He was also Captain of the rangers, if I recall correctly.
Say what you will about Monolith I think it goes to say a lot about their vision as a company for not milking out a series as the shadow series seemingly does appear to come to an end. It's refreshing to see a company know when an IP should stop and to take their talents in bringing consumers new and refreshing stories.
The ending is sad, unexpected, realistic and very acceptable.
Matheus Bondezan realistic huh, makes sense considering that hes riding on a drake at the end.
Loud Noises Everyone ride a dragon one day of his life
Richard Pastel huh, I'll look forward to it
Not really unexpected. Like what, you couldn't think Talion was gonna live a happy new life with a new family outside of Mordor.
It's not over, Celebrimbor still remains and Eltariel will hunt him with the New Ring around her finger.
Talion’s story was so sad and depressing. But in the end his tale ended with happiness. He deserved it. He was a true hero of Middle Earth.
Dustin Caldwell true. But if it wasn’t for him, the armies of Mordor would’ve marched on Middle Earth before Frodo got the One Ring

Let's be honest, if Talion did actually become one of the nine, there's no way Frodo would have made it out the shire.
Yeah he wouldve been sliced to bits
Imagine a wraith amongst the nine who is even stronger than the witch king, oof
Talion could of just shadow strike him
or maybe even as a wraith he was trying to hold back his power when he was forced by the ring to kill frodo... just a thought
Well, as a wraith he basicly lost his personality and with it prabably a lot of skill, but yes, if Frodo would face end-game/chapter 4 Talion he would be dead as shit before Gandalf even thought about checking the bushes!

Yes
Aaron Verhoeven And the flower near Acharn reminds us about the wife of Talion, they are reunited at last...
Aaron Verhoeven maybe he was surpised it actually really shred into dirt
Aaron Verhoeven and the flower that grew right next to it was Talion’s wife meaning that they were finally reunited in the end
This ending makes me really sad, talion spend his life fighting the dark Lord just to be consume by darkness and betrayed by everyone
Well, AFTER he was consumed by an ultimate evil and reforged into one of the nine soulless ringwraiths I'd say the other eight were pretty solid bros.
Joshua Tovar well at the end he becomes free
It's sad in the sense he has to wait and sacrifice to go to his family in the afterlife, his sacrifice in holding back Sauron as long as he did gave the time for Bilbo and Frodo to shape the story of the ring in their own way and for middle earth to prepare for what was to come.
At least in the end he was forgiven for denying death and allowed afterlife.
That bit with Talions FellBeast getting hit by the debris is taken right out of the Return of the King movie. Nice connection to the Jackson universe.
yeah I agree, I liked the way the game connects in it's own way to the films.

so what happens is that Talion becomes a Nazgul afther bying time for Gondor so they could rebuild there armie (For the returne of the king event) but he was slowly being cosumed by sauron since the only way to stay in the mortal world he needed a new ring thus he took a nazgul ring (formaly isildur) but in the end frodo destroyed the one ring and freed the other nazgul so they could go in peace.
Hash chery preaty much
+SIR SUN MAN yep
Good story, i rly like this game, its sad evryone forgot about talion in the movie
+Xardasek Nekromanci yep
But with out him nothing what happend in lore would hapend
May the force be with you Talion..
Wrong movie dude!
no thats the hunger games
you mean: The boy who lived, come to die
the king in the north!!!!!!
R.I.P Talion I will always remember how badass you made me feel
Suppose in canon Talion is canon, but accepts death at the end of the game, the alternate timeline starts when Talion & Celebrimbor forge their own ring
brendan curran same, i feel exactly the same
Well it doesn't make complete sense as the nazgul men were given rings of power, specifically crafted for the purpose of dominating the minds of men. which happened almost 1000 years before Isildur was even born.
Why Talion look like Aragorn
Gondorian??
cemo1999 Aragorn was not Gondorian, he was one of the Dunadien from the north. He resided in gondor after ROTK. Talion was a ranger from gondor I'm a middle earth nerd yes I know.
Star Wars Rebels Clips Plot twist: they're related.
Star Wars Rebels Clips But isn’t Aragorn related to isildur (a king of gondor)
Mmm I think He looks like Cesar Borgia from Assassins creed 2 and Brotherhood, look for him, you will see they look the same
he saved the world .... and then , he fell the ring ... i love this story ...
1:50 Celebrimbor getting away or something?
Radabit T Maybe in a dlc ^^
note that his ring fate is unknow
+Nathaniel Claw yep
Maybe we get to see him posses Eltariel again or perhaps Baranor finds the ring. Or maybe both.
When elves die their spirits are called to the halls of Mandos in the far west to wait until the end of the world
I kinda wish all the other nazgul kinda formed up behind talion and all faded into heaven together
That would have been amazing, but the ending is still a good one in my opinion
Snapped Squire your not wrong
The other 8 took the rings for power, Talion took it because of duty. Only he was allowed afterlife for his sacrifice.
A great ending to a great game
Harvey Dent Said that in the 2008 batman
2:15 beutiful moment when tallion walks to freedom
There are not many games where you know it cannot end well for the protagonist from the beginning and you still wish it would in the end. I mean he died in the beginning of the first game and was revived for the time being with death being the only way he would be with his family again. The ending is one of the most Tolkien one i could think of. It does not show reunion but does not deny it either. It hints higher things instead of explicitly showing and gives feeling of something I struggle to put into the box.
Now we know who the Flying Ringwraith was.
Sauron says "Abandoning the ranger was a mistake" or something like that during his bossfight, complete with shelob's vision we know that Celebrimbor fucked up big time
See ya later talion
2:06 That moment when Fires of War kicks in is just so emotional.. I love this game.
I fucking cried because of talion
To those who didn't know, the unlikely hero was gollum.
Khai Du you mean frodo?
Swagmaster Lou Gollum knocked it out of Frodo hands
Khai Du yea well the ring didn't walk by itself to mordor ya know
Swagmaster Lou Frodo wanted to keep the ring at the end ya know
The unlikely hero was Frodo not Gollum altough he had a big part to play as well.
We basically know everything from the LOTR so why not have a spin off
Talion will have one hell of a story to tell when he reaches Mandos.
lets just hope next version will include Lord of the rings characters:)
dani3111 dani3111 sorry but ure wrong , this game is not about hobbit or lord of the ring ... watch the storys instead of pasing it
dani3111 dani3111 it’s probably true but they could do a game that is talion as a nazgul during the events of Lotr and how he is assigned to destroy celebrimbor (even though he is bound with Sauron)
eru illuvatar could bring talion back to fight celebrimor illuvatar could be talions wraith
you talk as if you were a producer or something clear that they will make more rookie games missing things like where celebrimbor was and the other characters
No we dont
So did Talion ever see his family again? It would been amazing if this sequence was him walking towards them
paradise isnt a place where u go to meet other ppl, its yours, and yours alone, a place where u can rest and be happy for the rest of ur existense
The dagger Acharn and the white flower are both representations of Talion's family. Take what you will from it.
That's kinda said in a way..
Beautifully said, my good man!!
No that cutscene was him letting go of his family and by this his vengeance. The sword dropping (his son) and his cloak (gifted to him by his wife), as well as the rose at the end growing by the sword, and the precorrutped ctiy version of the black gate is what he is walking towards.
Does no one notice the white flower that blooms out of his sword in the end thst looks exactly like the flower he gave his wife
talion really does me thinking of aragorn
this ending is really amazing
Fits so perfectly to the movie series of lotr
2:06 This is how I picture myself greeting death. Leaving all the burdens and the hardships behind and embracing a new breath of fresh air.
Красивый финал и песня финальная вызывают мурашки!
Can we all stop and think about how Sharp that broken blade is,like god damn - it just slipped into the ground like it was fucking butter.
The music fits in with the ending so fucking well ive been watching it more than 5 time is this normal lol?
Chef , that song was written specifically for the ending. Was beautifully done 😊
With all this games faults, you still can't deny this ending was great.
No one knows or even Manwë where the soul of men go... It is thought that they rest along side Erú...
I just love this ending after all the fighting he could finally rest in piece and move to see his family once again
I really wish they did a trilogy rather than end it all here. But damn, now whenever I watch Return of the King and watch the part when Mount Doom and Sauron fall, along with the Nazgul, Imma be in my damn feels, knowing Talion dies along with the Ring and Sauron
that scene were talions fellbeast gets hit by the fire from mount doom is from the movie,
Well if they make a third game it might be about him ending celebrimbor. Maybe?
Damien Khan talion isn’t canon, along with the rest of the two shadow of games.
When the war against sauron is over in minas tirith Aragorn becomes the new king of gondor in the end of the return of the king
Talion finally became one with the force.
This is how you end a game!!!! loved it!
I did all of the grind for this ending and didn't spoil it for myself. Totally worth it.
Squambiblio _ same
This deserves a third game just because of the ending
Imagine Eltariel became so corrupted by the Ring, she awoken an evil much more ancient than Sauron..... Morgoth. And you play a Gondorian soldier who died by the hands of Orcs, and Talion returns as a spirit to guide him to face the Ancient Evil
Of all the things he left behind he only saw his son broken sword one last time knowing that he can let go the most painful moment of his life and rest in peace
so no more middle earth games
gcardoso that we know of
When you finish get the final ending screen it gives you "The game isn't over yet the story continues" kinda deal before mention the dlc's so another game could happen
??? Walker nope...i think that after dlc there will be no more Shadow of games
We'll see the sequel of middle earth
Blazing it since 9/11 unless they are but just not with Tellion. I can't see that WB will just let it die when they could make money out of it.
Sad as it is overall, it would be next level if he heard the Loreth song last thing as he went into the beyond.
Talion's shoulders look so much less broad in that final cut scene. I'm not sure why it bugs me so much. It just looks like they slapped his head on someone else's body.
Cosmic even his face looks different
Because he was finally at peace and no longer corrupted by Isildurs ring. That's my theory for it. And he looks less broad because the cloak was pretty thick.
Hes younger he looks more like himself in the first game
The irony of the motto of Shadow of War being ‘nothing will be forgotten’ is amazing. Nothing will be forgotten... Except Talion himself.
anyone remember in the first game you saved that one guy that had a hideout in a cave that i fought with. I never knew what happened to him. Anyone know?
Or out of mordor
talion was held back the army of darkness for decades.... now that is the DLC that i was looking for playing
This game was amazing!
what happened to Celebrimbor?
Celebrimbor said Sauron can't die
he doesn't die he becomes like a spirit with no power just going around but unable to do anything
Morgoth is still a threat though as he is destined to return, and he's a thousand times worse than Sauron, given the latter was his lieutenant.
red brad he was wrong af
The greatness of this ending is that he is now free to all responsibilities he has back then and now he is free and able to rest.
Why does Talion look human while riding the nether beast?
No the Nazgul were Wraiths and only had features in the Wraith realm. There are two explanations: Talion, being a new Wringwraith, still had a corporeal body, and was therefore able to look human. Secondly, the directors of the game put that there to be able to identify him. Or, when Sauron died/diminished, his hold over Talion did so too, and as a result Talion reverted to being a human with a ring.
Talion could rest in peace knowing that a man much like him called Aragorn would eventualy became king of gondor and destroy Sauron
so is talion dead?
Many people say this games story is mid but it’s actually a masterpiece
Despite it butchering the lore, these games were freakin fun and had a cooler twist to the story!! Look forward to more content from the devs!!! Maybe another game? 😏
DatBoi Canman isnt it? The orcs are such fun! I want a game in this format where you control a Ranger, and Elf and a Dwarf 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
2024 and still bringing tears in my eyes
didnt it say in LOTR that the 9 Ringwraith were former Kings of Men who fell to the ring? Talion isnt a King just some Ranger
Well talion here is the king of uruks hahahaa kidding.
I believe it said Great Men, though I'm quite sure I'm wrong. There is nothing stating a Wraith had to be a King.
Tears for our boy talion...he put in work and now finds peace.
Can i have name of ending song?
Quang Huy Nguyễn fires of war
Stife9000 Isn't it from that one trailer?
Darude sandstorm
Quang Huy Nguyễn fires of war
This is how you fucking write a brilliant (non canon) story into an already existing universe.
Massive respect for everyone working on this game!
Is there still a possibility they can make a third one
no. they said this is the end. they will make a few dlcs including the story packs then its over. talion is dead and gone.
I'd like to see what would happen after Return of the King, and no I do not read the books so Idk what happens after Return of the King
TheSithlord259 they said the same about Shadow of Mordor
Another game would be stupid
Yes big possibility
Bro, he really shows the true meaning of freedom
Wait after you beat the game can u play as nazgul talain
Big Boss Smylez Are his skills any different than the bright lord?
Yea Nah yes...a little bit
Mystic Echo yes
Mystic Echo talion
Say what you will about Monolith I think it goes to say a lot about their vision as a company for not milking out a series as the shadow series seemingly does appear to come to an end. It's refreshing to see a company know when an IP should stop and to take their talents in bringing consumers new and refreshing stories.
