This is awesome. I'd love to see more with this laser. Stuff like the range would be cool. Is it theoretically possible to point it at something like a weather balloon/airplane in the sky and would it just cut right through it if you had it on some sort of aiming thing??? The speed it cut through some things is insnae. And what if you just kept adding power to one of these? how powerful would it become and it what's the limit. Could you instantly cut through massive metal plates from a distance? Just seems like science fiction. Super cool.

what is the strongest laser he has? i thought its only 45 watt. even the backyardscientist had a 200 watt laser in one of the previous videos. styropyro has to catch up (maybe by building one of those military grade lasers with 2 mega watt of power).
This was epic Kevin. I'd love to see a tear down of the laser. What type of juicy HV we talking about here? Also - that plasma speaker at the end is just delicious.
Yeah. We have laser weapons of mass destruction. These wildfires aren't wildfires. The UK Calls their 50KW laser "Dragonfire" -- it's a bit on the nose, yeah? I met him and his mom -- he came into my store to buy batteries to power one of his projects.
brilliant, would have been interesting to see a thermal camera view as you use the laser on flat surfaces and the fridge, etc, also with different "laser shapes" like circle, figure-eight, etc :)
I'm an arborist, and one day, I hope there will be a light saber invented. That would be my favorite tool to use in a tree company. From tree to slabs in minutes ❤ Meanwhile, planting some trees along the way.
I remember seeing these awhile back and it’s just incredible how strong light is, when condensed to sizes so small you can barely even see it, if you could - I’ve always loved this channel because it also teaches the serious safety behind all the crazy stuff
You can't see the light from this laser anyway, no matter how small or large the beam. The fact that diffuse light from the sun can blind you and set fire to things 93 million miles away just by using a simple, cheap lens, should give you an idea of what light can really do.
You should do a test to see how much protection safety glasses actually bring. I guess, they are not there to make you stare into a laser but just to prevent the worst if there is some split second reflection from an object you use the laser on.
@@cewla3348 Styropyro's strongest laser is like an order of magnitude weaker and with orders of magnitude worse focus lol. I'd not trust pointing that laser at my eyes through a steel plate, let alone any glasses, they are for reflections...
@@antaresmc4407 Yeah, he literally showed it cutting through steel plate in this video (with the cutting attachment, the cleaner seems fine with steel so long as it doesn't dwell on one spot). My main takeaway from this is that blasters from Star Wars can be real. And that Stormtrooper helmets probably had welding goggle lenses installed haha. How many of these would you need to combine to make a Death Star?
Militarized lasers to replace battle rifles or assault rifles would have to be pulsed lasers. They would be absolutely horrific devices capable of causing steam explosions if they hit soft tissue directly. Basically causing similar damage as hand grenades or blasting caps, large cratering wounds and full or partial amputation of limbs. Very few fictional depictions of them exist probably because the movie or tv show would have to be R rated.
The Death Star laser must be at least 2.24 x 10^32 joules to destroy a planet similar to Earth... the laser in this video can only output 2 x 10^3 joules per second. So... you would need approximately 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 of these lasers to deliver enough energy in one second to destroy the Earth.

A whole year has passed and you still havent made part 2. I want to see how usable it is around the household. Doing the dishes? Cleaning bathroom tiles? Removing calcium buildup from showerhead? Heating up water for tea? Warming up leftover pizza?
I dunno if its a recurring joke on this channel but I love that the "Shake Hands With Danger" song exists outside of niche safety videos from the 70s now. It slaps too hard to be kept in the past!
You can mail in damaged currency to the federal reserve to receive replacement currency. As long as the entire serial number is readable and at least 51% of the physical structure remains intact, they will accept it for replacement. Replaced bills are issued with a star after their serial number (just like the second $1 bill you lasered)
I was curious about the star note you mentioned. It's true that the * indicates a replacement note. But the reason isn't to replace a note someone sent in, but for any notes where there was an error in printing the original note. The original with the error is then destroyed. I don't know they'll give you a star note for currency you send them in that's damaged. I'd guess not, otherwise it'd be trivial for collectors to get star notes (which are somewhat rare I guess).
That was one of the most gloriously dangerous and controlled chaotic videos I’ve ever witnessed. The erasing the ink on the currency was awesome. My jaw actually dropped. Great video!!

@@TheBackyardScientist i already thought your 200w laser was absolutely illegal but this right here is a whole different dimension. still hard to believe that its allowed to have this.
To be fair, people probably said the same thing about other technology that was hazardous. As long as it has safety features that stop it from being dangerous, it's ok.
I love how you’re steadily becoming a supervillain. Truly an icon.
Honestly I think he's there, just needs the funding.. *Dr Evil inpression* "$1billion dollars!"
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that the "Shake hands with danger" song by Jim Stringer was a bop
Super cool.
in case you werent aware, styropyro just dropped a video trying to answer that very question
Think this is the first time I've seen any of them actually promote the podcast.

same here but it was cool, I like his style hahaha
Every household should have one of these! I hope Ryobi comes up with one that uses their 18v system.
The wattage would be there.. Not sure about Ryobi but Bosch's ProCore 18V can deliver 1800W in bursts.
Me too but with milluwakee instead of Ryobi because I wanna use it with the batteries I have and not have to buy different ones 😂
Nah, since that would be power hungry garden tool, it will use their 36V max power.
Well at least I thought it was funny.
Wow! Didn't expect a "Bad Apple running on everything" here. This literally made me burst out laughing

Don’t worry Frankie it’ll be okay.

I'm just gonna say it: Kevin has basically every RUclipsr beat. Not even Styropyro has a laser this powerful (yet)! Amazing video dude, I look forward to seeing more!
We need a laser off. Who can build the most powerful laser.
He had one until he blew the crap out of it when he tried to increase output power
@@TheBackyardChemist styropyro had one of THESE? And beefed it up?!
@@MattH-wg7ou Nah but he had a pulsed laser that made really short laser pulses with an insane peak power that could ionize air.
what is the strongest laser he has? i thought its only 45 watt. even the backyardscientist had a 200 watt laser in one of the previous videos. styropyro has to catch up (maybe by building one of those military grade lasers with 2 mega watt of power).
8:39 missed opportunity to "put out" a fire with the same laser that started it 😂😂😂
This was epic Kevin. I'd love to see a tear down of the laser. What type of juicy HV we talking about here? Also - that plasma speaker at the end is just delicious.
5:58 not me thinking he was about to shoot his hand with it
This is lowkey proof that laser weapons are already well developed for military use.
Yeah. We have laser weapons of mass destruction. These wildfires aren't wildfires. The UK Calls their 50KW laser "Dragonfire" -- it's a bit on the nose, yeah? The US has nuclear based space lasers; that's the purpose of Space Force.
Sidenote; Thebackyardscientist is a pretty cool cat. I met him and his mom -- he came into my store to buy batteries to power one of his projects.
brilliant, would have been interesting to see a thermal camera view as you use the laser on flat surfaces and the fridge, etc, also with different "laser shapes" like circle, figure-eight, etc :)
Great stuff👊🏻😁🍻🍻🍻

I'm an arborist, and one day, I hope there will be a light saber invented. That would be my favorite tool to use in a tree company. From tree to slabs in minutes ❤ Meanwhile, planting some trees along the way.

Plasma cutter. Alternatively you could make a Beam Katana like from No More Heroes.
what about a hacksaw that uses a series of mirrors and a single very powerful laser
I so want to try to trim branches with one of these and be able to just stand on the ground and not have to mess around with a ladder.
The safety switch joke cracked me up. "We don't need that type of negativity here." HAHAHA That's gold. xD
6:10 looks like an orbital laser weapon
You know something is dangerous when Kevin is roasting other people's irresponsible use of the thing.

Perhaps a fragment beam mirror? Could do tests based on duration, %reflected, and more
Styropyro did it, unprotected lenses die instantly but protected lenses can have the laser pointed at em
Reflector from [g=2]
@@cewla3348 Styropyro's strongest laser is like an order of magnitude weaker and with orders of magnitude worse focus lol.
I'd not trust pointing that laser at my eyes through a steel plate, let alone any glasses, they are for reflections...
@@antaresmc4407 Yeah, he literally showed it cutting through steel plate in this video (with the cutting attachment, the cleaner seems fine with steel so long as it doesn't dwell on one spot). It's like a waterjet/plasma cutter (or even a rotary tool), none of which you want to intentionally point at your PPE.
My main takeaway from this is that blasters from Star Wars can be real. And that Stormtrooper helmets probably had welding goggle lenses installed haha. How many of these would you need to combine to make a Death Star?
That would explain why their aim is so bad too
Militarized lasers to replace battle rifles or assault rifles would have to be pulsed lasers.
@@juliavixen176 Dang, so it would need to be the size of a moon. George Lucas really did his homework lol
