Best overview of the south end that I've seen. We used to vacation at the Outrigger every December. This is the best view of it so far. I also really appreciate the markers pointing out where we were in the video.

Thanks for all the great videos since Hurricane Ian! In this one, you flew right over my old rental house on Palmetto St, not far from where Lahaina Inn got wiped off the map! My beach access was Dakota St, just the other side of the Sandpiper. I lived on FMB Summer 2011-Spring 2014 and I still consider that beach my home! I miss the Mermaid, the Outrigger, Beached Whale, Surf Club, Dolphin Inn (which my friends used to own) and other hangouts--the McDonalds! A co-owner of the Beach Pub graduated high school with my parents! I love the Critsers at Beach Baptist. I miss the Sandpaper, where I was a freelance contributor. My band played Time Square Sunset Celebration, Sunday nights at The Cottage (shout out to Roxie and Johnna), Castaways, Nervous Nellies and so many regional venues (The Dek in the Cape)! My heart is broken...there's just nothing else I can say.

Lots of cleanup done, but still a few places where the garbage is still lurking. Such a horrible job for everybody to tackle. I think this spit of land should never have been built on really it's barely above sea level & obviously just sand. However it doesn't get destroyed by a hurricane every year so people get too confident. I bet the Insurance companies are being real dogs about paying out ! Poor people, for many these were their dream homes. Hoping it will be restored to beautiful eventually, you can see what it once was. I love the tropics but prefer mountanous islands to flat beach like this. Thank you for your video & wishing for you all to get back to normal asap !
