Tween waters is the #1 choice. Yes, the road is between your condo window and the ocean, but it’s a quiet road. And you are just yards from the ocean, just crossing the quiet road. Tween waters is a small, family owned business. Super clean, the mattresses are wrapped in plastic.❤

We get day passes there. $100 per car, up to six people. Beach access, pool access, and food/bar. Well worth it.

Stayed at South Seas Resort way back in 2015, so sad to see what happened to Sanibel and Captiva. Prayers for quick recovery!

My dad is from Sanibel Island. We visited every summer growing up. As an adult, I was fortunate to take him back one last time before he past. Love you PaDaddy.

I stayed on Sanibel for a week the December before the hurricane. Visited Captiva one day for lunch and shopping. Everything about the island was delightful. So glad I got to visit the lighthouse and see the old buildings surrounding it.

So glad you did! There are a lot of buildings that won’t come back, so it’s great you had the memories. The island is recovering fast. New video coming soon

We last visited Sanibel the week before hurricane Ian in September 2022. We have stayed at and love Beachview Cottages and West Wind Island Resort two doors west of Beachview Cottages. Both properties were destroyed by Ian and are now cleared of any buildings. They were part of a four property group including Castaways Beach and Bay Cottages (also gone) and Tween Waters Island Resort which you featured here. Thank you for the update and good news that recovery is happening!

Wonderful job! Thank you so much for creating this video. I have been to Sanibel many times, and was last there in 2021. I really miss it and have stayed at Sand Pointe condos, Duggers Tropical Village, and at a private cottage on the west end of the island close to Captiva. I think most of those properties were wiped out by Ian, but it looks like much of the debris has been cleared and the island is recovering. The water and the beach are breathtaking! Thanks again!

What a beautiful 🤩 video! Thank you for sharing! I may think of coming to Sanibel Island visit, my buddy of mine and his family. Any tours attractions that you recommend at Sanibel Island and Captiva as well as Fort Myers? One of the best restaurants you recommend in the islands and in Fort Myers? Any sightseeing attractions you recommend in all of these places I heard Miromar outlet is also great for shopping as well.

Thank you so much! I’d suggest J.N. 'Ding' Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Tarpon explorers for a kayak ride, also highly recommend to get a water taxi to Cabbage key. Miromar outlets and Coconut point for shopping. And for eating the Boathouse Fort Myers and The Firestone Skybar both with awesome views and food. And check out Fort Myers River District with many restaurants and live music on weekends.

Hi, I thought I would add my two cents' worth. Sanibel and Captiva are not like the rest of Florida. There is a huge emphasis on nature, and thus there are no "tourist attractions." The Ding Darling refuge is wonderful for bird-watching. You can drive through the refuge at your own pace or bike through it. Go at low tide when the birds feed. Stand still and you will see crabs in the water. Alligators should be present at sunset and/or low tide. I have been kayaking via Tarpon Bay Explorers, and this is a great way to see manatees, birds, and dolphins. You can follow the numbered/guided tour through the mangroves or just paddle around in Tarpon Bay. Sanibel's beauty sort of unfolds. It is not like Miami or beaches in the Caribbean. Sanibel's beaches are filled with shells. Captiva is a bit more lively as there are a few beach bars and watersports. Sanibel is pretty sleepy but that is what makes it relaxing. The Bailey tract is a free bit of protected land that has alligators, birds, and other wildlife. Unsure if the Bailey tract is accessible at this point. In other words, once you are on Sanibel, there are not many ways to spend your money unlike other places in Florida. Most people go to Sanibel for the shells on the beaches, the gentle water, and the birding which is best in the fall/winter. You will see ibis, herons, egrets, and roseate spoonbills year-round at the refuge.

If any of your viewers go down further to the public beach by the lighthouse..make sure to pay for parking. I had no idea and didnt ever see the sign to pay until I washed up and left the beach. Wish I could live here 😉

Please remind guests TO WEAR WATER SHOES IN THE GULF! There is still so much debris in the water and you WILL step on stuff. Nothing like a nail through the foot. Look for thick rubber bottoms.
