      Thank you. The heat/humidity really is no joke. We sometimes loathe filming outside this time of year when it's not on or around the water. But we'd still take Florida summers over midwest winters any day!

      @@PrimeTimeTravelers dang we should have reached out to them I guess. We were planning on going but checked their website last minute and saw that you had to complete a form and pay a fee to film there, but wishing we would have reached out to them now! Maybe we'll vlog it some other day!

      Thanks Ramune! We were impressed with all the old buildings, architecture, and cobblestone streets in the downtown area. It really was a fun downtown to explore, and not too big. We're definitely learning a lot and trying to make each video a little better than the last. We've still got a long ways to go, but glad to hear you can see the improvement!

    My daughter and I just got back this morning from a long weekend in Fort Myers. It was our first time there. We stayed at the Luminary. The area was very lively. We explored the downtown and just relaxed at our hotel pool and rooftop bar. My daughter works for United Airlines so we take a lot of trips whenever we have a chance. Thanks for your video. I saw some familiar sights😀

      The tea really was a very nice experience, and the Preserve was great, even though we did go on one of the hottest days of the year. This time of year it should be perfect!

    Thanks for this great video. I visit Fort Myers once a year. I was there in early April 2024. I recognized many of the places in your video. I always enjoy the Edison-Ford Winter Estates.

    Wow you guys found some delicious spots this time. I especially like that strawberry latte. Looks amazing. We tried afternoon tea for the first time in Bath, England and absolutely loved it. We definitely don't get to have afternoon tea enough.

    Great video! I especially liked the nature preserve and would like to visit that some day. If you enjoy going to the theatre you need to check out the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre! Fantastic shows and the food is wonderful!

      The nature preserve probably would have been my (Skylar's) favorite park if it wasn't soooo hot! We definitely recommend visiting. It's a beautiful preserve.... just try not to go when it's 100+ heat index! 😂 Also thanks for the info on the dinner theater. Definitely sounds like something we'd enjoy!

    So excited to see a new video from you guys! We come down to the Redington Beach area every year. I would love to see a video on Sciatica since you’ve struggled with it. My husband is dealing with it and it’s just awful.

      Thanks so much, Jennifer. We love the Redington area... it's still so laid back compared to some of the more touristy beach towns. Unfortunately my sciatica story is far from over. It's still effecting me every day, but each week does seem to be a little better than the last. I'm now able to walk longer distances, do some yoga, and even some light rock climbing! A video on sciatica is definitely an interesting idea! We have a long list of video ideas in the queue, but we might just have to add that one to it! We really hope your husband's recovery is quicker than mine. I'm going on almost 4 months now, although I've read typical recovery time is in the 4-8 week range.

      @@Explorcation thank you! What is it like in the gulf coast in October? We are looking at coming down twice per year and doing October since the water is still warm. Are hurricanes a major concern? Anything fun to do in the fall like live music festivals? We are in Washington state and live music in restaurants are very rare.

      @@jenniferfredericks8884 in October it is still quite hot here, and the water is very warm. I (Jamie) typically love Florida in October even though it is hot. Sunsets are often very vibrant that time of year. But hurricanes are a concern. It is a great time to be at the beach as long as there isn't a storm. Any outdoor events not on the beach or in the shade will be quite hot!

    Seems like there is a lot of variety there - from the downtown city area to the nature reserves. Not sure how I feel about the snakes though 😐 The afternoon tea seemed so picturesque! Always a fan of historical mansions and estates, and some refreshing craft beers or cocktails.

      The snakes were non venomous and in a tank... but yeah, still a little bit scary! We really would have loved to tour those old mansions and we'll definitely be back some day to do so. And yeah, no shortage of beers and cocktails in Fort Myers thankfully, because it was hot!

    Good experience to go to school or staying inside with ac running. Pretty bad working in the weather unless you like heat. I was able to jog just about all year round . Dont like to jog in the cold. The cops always stopping me when walking or jogging along us 41 near between lee memorial hospital and circle k in the early 90s. Now i live in virginia with different seasons.

      We have not, but primarily due to the price tag! We agree though that it would be very interesting to see how they compare. Have you tried the one at the Vinoy? If so, we'd love to hear your experience.

      @@Explorcation after watching your video about the vinoy re - opening ...we went there and got info about the afternoon tea...we have not tried it yet (it is pricey) but I think we eventually will....we do know a couple that have tried it and they swear that it is well worth the price!

    We were at the Edison House recently then moved on as my experience with downtown in the 80’s and 90’s was nothing to write home about. Big mistake. If not for your videos I would totally miss out on fantastic experiences. But since I passed on this one we will need to head back on over. I mean the food alone makes me want to jump in the car right now.

      Honestly I wouldn't say we were super excited about visiting Fort Myers... mostly because the downtown is pretty far from the beaches and we knew it was going to be crazy hot. But we really did have a great time. Any time we can visit three roof top bars in two days, we're happy 😅. We do want to get back and visit the Edison Fort Museum sometime. It sounds like there is so much to see and seems really interesting. What were your thoughts on it?

      @@Explorcation We loved it. I've been several times but is was the GFs first visit. They have a self guided tour you can listen to on your phone. The grounds and homes are really enjoyable but the museum is fantastic. Everything we enjoy now was invented in such a short time in history. one of the guides even played a victrola just like my grandparents had in their attic. I used to play old records on it when I was a kid. We spent hours there then went to Anna Maria based on your video. You are the best Florida tour guides.

    You forgot 10 Twenty Five in dowtown Fort Myers which is one of the best craft bar/restaurants in Fort Myers period. Located in the court yard behind Downtown house of Pizza which is also arguably the best pizza in the Fort Myers area. Seems like you missed a lot

    I went to that planetarium a couple years ago, it wreaked of mildew and the image was so blurry it gave me a headache

      They must have taken care of the mildew as we didn't smell any at all. The image was still a bit on the blurry side, but thankfully we did not get headaches.

      Agree we would definitely NOT want to be around a swarm of locusts. But actually we think it's something called an Eastern Lubber Grasshopper (based on the large size and bright colors). We did a little research after seeing it, and apparently they are toxic and not something you want to touch! Thanks for watching.

      For someone that grew up on the rural midwest, I would say there is a LOT to do in Fort Myers. But I suppose if you're used to a bigger city, then it could seem like there isn't a lot to do. Everything's relative, after all.
