Beautiful and this is the version we learned to sing at school by Miss Round our excellent music teacher at St. Joseph's primary school in Dudley. However we sang "wind" with a long i to rhyme with "unkind". Wonderful to hear it again after all these years.😃👍♥️
This is Thomas Arne's version (1740), exactly as written in the presentation provided above by Soprantastic! I don't know wether it's or not the "original blow, blow", but all the others I know (Quilter, Rutter) are much more recent than this one. Thanks to Soprantastic for posting that beautiful rendition (personally, I sing it a little slower, but the tempo you adopted is quite nice).
Blow, blow, thou winter wind, Thou art not so unkind As man’s ingratitude; Thy tooth is not so keen, Because thou art not seen, Although thy breath be rude. Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly: Most friendship is feigning, most loving mere folly: Then, heigh-ho, the holly! This life is most jolly. Freeze, freeze, thou bitter sky, That dost not bite so nigh As benefits forgot: Though thou the waters warp, Thy sting is not so sharp As friend remembered not. Heigh-ho! sing, heigh-ho! unto the green holly...
It's well sung, but really too much vibrato. It does not "Just happen" -- you can learn to control it. Listen to people like Emma Kirkby and Patricia Petibon, they turn it on and off.
I know you sung this a really long time ago, BUT 1. Vibrato is tooooo fast and uncontroled. 2. Please strech yourself a bit more up. Get your shoulders back and your back straight. Because you've got a so beautyfull voice and you are such a pretty women!!
I would like to have seen you in something that didn't match the ugly paneling of the room, sweetie! Otherwise quite nice. Some pitches were "iffy" but overall nice. Round out those vowels a touch!
@@softbunny.gif- I didn't have anything to say about the vibrato like most people! That's a win! (Still too beautiful to get lost in the paneling, though!) Hope you're replying to everyone's comments ;)

no shit ever head of "different arrangements"? it's a wonderful thing.

In my opinion this sound quality is very good, and powerful, but....there are too much vibratos...this isn't an opera, only a song!
you know vibratos just happen when you sing well, which she clearly is you can't help them happening
MJesty
...it's a completely different tune than the original blow blow
less opera to it!!!

And I would like to have not read a comment that ugly and unnecessary but you have to write your every thoughts I guess 🥴
