I would like this version of the song to be on Spotify or somewhere else. It's by far the best I've heard.

To the conductor -- thank you SO much for conducting in such a way as to not distract from your performers. You kept your pattern in the style of the piece without looking like a bird taking flight.

This is absolutely the best performance of this piece I have ever heard! I've performed this multiple times over the years with my local chorale and this execution of diction is clean, the dynamics faithful, and tone spot-on, with an overall interpretation the best, bar-none! Bravo!

VERY well sung. I can't recall it done this well. A shout to a great pianist too. And kudos to the sound engineer....choral is hard to record this cleanly.

Bravo. I could not write the description better than you did. We sang this in choir 35 years ago, and it still sticks out in my mind. It harkanes me to a time where life meant so much. I've played it over and over and shared with my friends. Thank you. God bless you, in Christ Jesus, David

This hauntingly beautiful piece is one of my favorite pieces I was fortunate enough to be involved in during my high school days. The piano reminds me of falling snow 🥰

I like this version, I remember our Varsity Choir sang this piece, I wish our Concert Choir had done it. This was great, I wish you would have gone to a studio and recorded it so the vocals would be crisper. But, A+

This piece can be either wry or heartbroken. This would be the heartbroken version....pass the Prozac! ;) Beautiful though, seriously.

Beautiful! Very expressive! ❤️ I’ve conducted this piece twice with high school choruses. Heigh ho…”high ho” or “hay ho”? Most recordings including Rutter pronounce it “hay ho”. Weigh=heigh. Just curious on people’s thoughts on this.

I can say with out a doubt that the pianist is NOT getting paid enough....

    • @mistrdevine

that is usually the case. i’m a pianist who has to play this at a concert in a couple weeks. i practice along with recordings i find on RUclips. this is a great recording to play along to, yet i KNOW the director of the choir i play for will take it about twice as fast. infuriating.

Why do the sopranos voices sound immature? They sound like middle schoolers

The piece has been recorded with boys' choirs. It's appropriate for the female voices to sound younger, lighter, free of vibrato and the fuller darkness a voice attains with age. (Lyric mezzo speaking here, but in her alto voice.)
