My highschool chamber choir sang this. They hated how hard it was but it sounded amazing lol.

We started studying it in my choir. After a year of Online or outside rehearsals I heard it the first time indoors and almost started crying. The harmonies, the nolody, they touched something inside me, as cheesy as it may sound 😂 it really got me emotional and I'm glad I can continue listening to this song all night

As a Canadian who is occasionally treated to experiencing the Northern Lights, I tell you this sounds just like how the Northern Lights feel and look.
Dear, it isn't really about nothern lights.. But probably you must know by now. 😏
When I first heard the song and new nothing about it, I assumed from the title it must have been a new song about the northern lights. However, it is actually a passage from Song of Songs and the first line translated is: "Thou art beautiful, O my love,
sweet and beautiful daughter of Jerusalem."
If it moves one's soul like the ethereal Northern Lights can do, then who is anyone to say it has to be otherwise.
@@naramadomFrom my understanding, Ola Gjeilo composed this after experiencing the Northern Lights one time. So although it’s not directly about the phenomenon, it still plays into it

It's so amazing to see people sing Ola's pieces all over the planet. He has planted his vision into people's hearts everywhere.
Okay if I'll ever be able to perform this I or sing like this for one day I can proudly say I've reached one of my lifegoals.
That was just wonderful. To my shame, I had never heard of Ola Gjeilo, but I certainly have now. Those young choristers were superb. Very, very well done.

Which vocal part were you?
Stunning performance! I just started singing the soprano voice today, and when i sang the first sentence, i felt so at peace. Great piece!

Flashing back to when I performed this song. I completely forgot I even did it until the bass part just started appearing in my head
You are very good and Gjeilo is a truly genius! My choir sang "The Rose" and "Days of Beauty" with new arrangements, both adapting for mixed choir, with male and female voices and making spectacular videos! We were able to reach the same Gjeilo who was thrilled. Write this in the search: you will surely like them!

Pool-craw ess ah-mee-cah may-ah, soo-ah-vees eht deh-coh-rah fee-lee-ah Yeh-roo-sah-lehm. Eht-deh-coh-rah see-coot Yeh-roo-sah-lehm.
.......i forgot the rest of the words but I've done this work before. Latin has pure vowels. O is oh, E is eh, A is ah, U is oo, I is ee. J is typically pronounced as a Y, and there are only a couple instances in this particular work where the C is pronounced with a ch sound, such as when the word Fecerunt comes up. That's feh-cheh-roont. Other than that, roll or flip your R's, and qui is pronounced differently depending on director preference. Kwee or Key. I'd stick with Kwee for that one though.
@@Felistrocity "u" in latin isn't quite "oo" or "uh" but somewhere in between. also "may?" There should never be the "y" dipthong in a word like "mea." It's pronounced meh-ah. But otherwise nice job I'm just being super picky. Too many Americans think "me" in latin is "may" etc.
@@ianbarnes997 yeah, you're being EXTREMELY picky. Glad you realize that. Also it's "think" not "thing". But that's just me being super picky.
