Like most, this reviewer misses the whole point of PHEVs. Instead of driving them intensively for a few days, you have to live with them for a while. Use them for all those short trips to the grocery, and wherever else you go locally. These trips, done on a cold engine in suburban traffic, might get 18 mpg on a car like this. When you can do most or all of these in EV, your total mpg goes way up. Example: I own two Ford C-Maxes, otherwise identical. The Hybrid has a lifetime 38 mpg, but the plug-in has given 65 mpg.
I have this 2018 GLC 350e 4matic - This car is so nice and high qualify - but my batt only goes for about 11 miles on electric power :( other than that its so smooth so powerful and amazing handling !
DEAL BREAKER: From 2:57 average stopping distance was a "good" 127 feet. I guess good is relative because cars like the Mazda CX5 do it in 113 (according to Motorweek tests) and 102 feet for the BMW X3. That's a 25 FOOT DIFFERENCE between the Mercedes and much better BMW X3. This 25 feet represents a 20 PERCENT SHORTER DISTANCE for the BMW. Not sure how Motorweek can now call Mercedes 127 feet good now?
I have just bought a 2018- model, but wonder: What if you drive in charger mode, using the petrol engine - and continue to do so after the battery has got charged, will it continue to go in charger, in other words , can you force the car to run on petrol "forever"? Gunleik Gjerde
I don't know how the warranty is in the us....but in the netherlands it's 6 years and/or 100.000km.....so why are you talking about the cost of changing the battery after 4 years?..... I own a 350e....and the battery is still above 70%..160.000km....and 8.5 years old. All the best to you from the Netherlands
This guy's ridiculous "sports commentators" voice really grates on my nerves. I had enough after 2 mins, so stopped watching. Just talk normally, forget the fake voice-over.

Only useful for the carpool lane and good parking spaces
but no adaptive cruise control?
Wonderful SUV 💕💕💕

127 feet stopping distance is ridiculously bad for a luxury vehicle
Considerinf the car weighs 2.3 tonnes i think its pretty good
Low rolling resistance tires probably.

The hybrid comes way too expensive a cost. I bought the non-hybrid version and very happy. It represented a good value in the luxury SUV market.
Not really, I got the Sonata Plug-in Hybrid Limited (fully loaded) retail $40,200 for $7919 off from hyundai and another $1,700 off from dealer.
This car is wonderful
*X3 30e: Am I A Joke To You?*
Why couldn't they put the charging port in a body pannel?
I don’t know
28.8 mpg on a phev, with a starting price of $50,000+(?!)
For some - money 💰 is cheap...😉😄
Beautiful vehicle, but even if I had the money 💰, I'd get a Volkswagen tiguan...😉
$14,000 for a battery replacement after 4 years! No thanks!

Хорошая машина, хорошая программа, но у ведущего, какой-то идиотский акцент ..

Del Mac been like this since the 80’s
Yeah where have you been?
Is this your first time watching Motorweek?
JKIZZLLE:- Really! oh dear, then I won't watch this channel again. Thanks.
Mathew Stephenson:- Here in the UK, where we don't get reporters putting on fake voices, unless it's sports related.
