Been working as a tire technician at Speedco (Winona TX) for bout a year now. Seen more than a couple drivers wearing flip flops haha! Always think of this channel when I see that.
What's with this phenomenon of wearing flip flops !?! I work in Alaska, and during A -season, in the winter time, I'll see a lot of people walking around with flip flops and there's snow on the ground......cold 🥶 weather , WTH.....?smh ☹️

What i do is go onto youtube and find 45 minute to hour long or longer videos and listen to them driving down the road. Videos i dont have to watch. Documentaries and stuff like that. And i dont have to pay xm for anything anc can watch whatever i want whenever i want for as many times or as long as i want. But my cb is always on and i dont even own a pair of flip flops sandals nor crocks. Nor do i even own a pair of shorts. I started driving in 1994 and was taught the right way to drive and treat other drivers.

I love your RUclips channel. For those of us who don't actually make a living at this, here are some questions you can answer:
How long does it take to refuel a tractor? Maybe the guy was just delayed getting his sody water and cheeseburger.
What's so bad about flip-flops? It looks like this is just a personal thing of yours.
If you need to back up in a rented RV, they tell you to use a spotter. What do truckers do?
If you make a wrong turn in a sparsely populated area and find yourself on a two-lane highway going in the wrong direction, what happens next? Do you push on until you get to a town big enough to have a parking lot?
Just ask the next swift driver you see ! Lol
It only takes about 10 minutes for me to fill 150 gallons, usually only having to do ~130. Add an extra 5 for when I have to fill def, around 12-15 gallons.
Flip flops is personal because most don’t care, but sometimes people wear them when they should have something safer on.
Spotters are situational, and in most cases you don’t need one.
If you ever get a truck in a situation you shouldn’t be in, call the cops. IE I made a right exiting a loves and about 300 feet down there was a weight limit, no truck sign. I called non emergency, and they told me there’s nothing I would hit and no bridges. I’m sure if a cop decided to just be an asshole they could’ve ticketed me, but I didn’t encounter anyone.
Flipflops is about professionalism. It's a show of attitude. Do you respect the industry and have pride in the work you do? Flipflops are just an easy way to see who just don't care.
Also, when you're dealing with trucks, you're messing around with big equipment. If anything falls on your feet, you will wish you had shoes or boots on.
Why would ANYBODY wear flip flops if not at the beach or at the pool ? Or coming back from the showers.

Thank you for the corrected edited version. The part in the original post of the truck crashing into the cars and your comments were inappropriate. I hove no problem with clips showing damage but never if were serious injuries or death.

Funny you say that, I'm always amazed at the craftsmanship I see from dudes in sandals in places like India and Pakistan. There are some badass diesel mechanics over there that have youtube videos of welding broken axles back together and stuff like that. It's a completely different world over there. They can't just order new parts, so they will go to incredible lengths to fix old ones.

If I showed up to work in my sector of the trucking industry wearing flip flops they’d send me right back home and laugh their collective asses off while they did so…and I would DESERVE every damn second of it! I don’t even own tennis shoes let alone footwear that doesn’t have a composite toe and shank buddy! Bahahaha! Even my casual at-home/tooling around town or my own back yard shoes are steel toe rubber boots cause I can just slip ‘em on without tying them! Lol! Closest thing to casual shoes I own are cowboy boots! And I only wear them once or twice a year for special occasions! Been a truck driver for almost 30 yrs! I also carry a jack knife every where I go too. Something else many grown men (real men) no longer carry! Along with carrying a proper leather wallet, I also wear a real leather belt and a wrist watch as well!

Hell. I even remember when you could tell another driver when something was qrong with their truck or trailer and they would actually hear you because they had their cb on too. Now i try once and if they dont answer i just let dot tell them. Im free. Dot is not. But they obviously have all kinds of money since they dont have a radio and can afford xm so i let them pay whatwver it is they owe and keep driving.

Ike it's sure sad that the integrity of the term truck driver has been tainted by these degenerates who claim to be a truck driver. The shame of these people decreases year after year it seems, peeing in public, craping in the sink, leaving trash with fecal matter on the ground, and watching video of your dwelling while traveling 60mph plus load with almost 80 thousand pounds really concerns me.

I'm glad someone finally said it. As somone who was born with bunions i can't wear anything closed toed for to long muchess driving 11 hours in them so i wear crocs and switch to runners at the customer.
I've been saying on multiple videos as long as your not a shipper or receiver it doesn't matter what you wear I drive in my chucks or slides all the time but I wear my steel toes at shippers and receivers since I'm flatbed and it's always equipment and required but yeah I feel you brother
