I’m not gonna stereotype the guy but I see a LOT of drivers who look a lot like him driving with their left foot up on the dash, usually with a flip flop on or barefoot

My company does heavy touch freight, wearing flip flops is a final written warning. One step below grabbing the secretary’s butt in front of the boss
Reminds me of guy I worked with at an industrial plant expansion. His wife was a secretary there. We were pulling a new circuit into the office area and as we were walking in he goes to his wife bent over a filing cabinet and grabs her ass.
Except it wasn’t his wife, but another woman. Needless to say, he was escorted off the job site and a complaint filed with the union hall. He was trying to argue his case the whole time but they were saying it doesn’t matter even if it was his wife, you can’t be making sexual advances in the office lol.
My employer is the same way. Steal toe boots that cover the ankle are required. To prove how serious they are, they reimburse us for buying steal toe boots. So, the boots are pretty much free for us.

Lot of places will not let you unload or load even if your pulling a box, never mind the flatbeding, wore steel for years
"How does this happen?" 1st step, get feds to quit enforcing FMCSR 391.11. 2nd step, hires drivers who can't read English. 3rd step, tell drivers to only watch stupidphone for instructions!
Too funny! I noticed that my trainees are always on the phone. I suspect they are looking how to back up, fuel, etc. They can't do anything without looking at their phone, first.
The 4th step, Wearing flip flops at the customer, Shame on the mess 😳.
These Boneheads are the reason they're trying to replace us with autonomous trucks. Also whenever I myself hook up to a trailer even after hearing that distinct click and doing my tug test I always perform a visual inspection of the locking jaws to make sure they're closed. The first and only time I didn't was the first and only time I nearly dropped a trailer.

unfortunately yes, that is exactly what i thought of, i work at a loves truck care and its the most dangerous thing we do.
I am a 4. Wheeler. I had my first flat in years yesterday. Had the truck little over a year and I had to go to the book that came with the truck to find out were the Jack was and how to get the spare off I was on a 2 lane highway that was heavily used by big trucks. I have the up most respect for anyone who has to work on drivers side in traffic. I got over as much as possible but I was still out in road.
I find that alot of drivers are just too ignorant and entitled to care. Yesterday in Illinois for example. Two separate incidents. First one, driving along 94 in 2nd to right lane and Prime driver comes from 2 lanes over from the left cutting me off all in one motion and no signal, nothing. Second incident, driving along right lane and truck ahead is parked on shoulder of off ramp and from a stopped position decides to pull out in front of me over 2 live lanes of traffic. Laying on the horn or getting on the radio calling them out does nothing because it's all about them and they just don't care. Sad industry this is.

My wife works at the post office receiving docks for the bulk mail in carts. she bought the shirt "real drivers do not wear flip flops. She always turns away flip flops even before she knew i watched this channel. Drivers have even asked about the shirt and now watches as well. she has seen them coming in with merch.

At 1st I didn't like this channel because of making fun of unfortunate drivers. But now I realize that is an important teaching tool
Hey man. My wife bought one of your shirts "real drivers don't wear flip flops." she works at the post office receiving docks as the person you hand in paperwork and logs in the truck and mail as it is unloaded or loaded. She said that has been the best shirt ever as many drivers have asked where to get the shirts and about the channel. She also turns away drivers who come in wearing flip flops. The last few time she has worn the shirt, she points at the shirt and to their flip flops and tells them to go put on proper foot wear.

That's because they're handing out CDLs to everyone with a pulse. Same thing is happening with regular DLs. I've been told they administer tests to everyone who gets a license. Must be a pretty low bar if even non English speaking foreigners are getting those licenses, too.

My Dad was in insurance his whole career. He always laughed at the signs that said "Not responsible for broken windshields". Yes they are. The law is clear everywhere that a trucker is solely responsible for their load.

Just did a Quick Look at their FMCSA snapshot. They don’t have a good safety and maintenance record. 33% vehicle OOS rate last 24 months. More people need to look at the public data on these trucking companies and not look at just the money. Open toe shoes, companies are going to have to start enforcing safety rules to get that to change. If a steel yard that requires employees to have safety shoes allows it to happen then it is the fault of the driver and company when they lose a foot and are out of work. I’m glad I work for a company that does not allow them.

I was driving in Calif one time, Had "Ferigner" stop in the right lane, of a 2 lane highway in front of a lot of trucks, and start doing his PRAYERS! Trucks were all over the road because of the way he stopped! Luckily, no accidents happened!
YEP, I saw a guy at the fuel island do that, put his prayer rug right down in front of his truck with trucks waiting to fuel!

I also told one devout Muslim trainee to NOT wait for his phone to tell him to pray. Because most certainly in Mohammed's time there were definitely NO smartphones with prayer apps. They learnt to read / plan their day to know when to pray.
He took that to heart and learnt to plan out his driving day.
