this series premise gives off the same kinda vibe as when you flip through the channels on tv until you find something interesting and watch it without any context of the previous episodes
I’m a just say it…you make the spit in MGX look way more sus by censoring it Regardless…you should watch the Land of the Lustrous anime. The setting and characters give a good sense of mystery and leave you with a lot of questions. Our main character Phos is very charming. One of the very few CGI Anime that is done extremely well. Started it after finishing the Manga and it’s a pretty solid adaptation.
You should watch Nana, Paradise Kiss, or Skip Beat. All three are drama heavy (people can debate over the last one tho), but with a strong focus on romance, since you mentioned you wanted more realistic ones, I figured these might be up your alley.
I read the entirety of Skip Beat but have not yet watched the show. Is it good? Im curious cause i rly love the manga and I hope the show does it justice
This is one of those examples that kind of proves that humans don't actually want randomized stuff, we want a bit more curation than that. That being said, love this video format, don't change the randomizer wheel. Though, you might want to consider ALWAYS using the rando-mendation wheel for the LAST anime of each episode. Gives a higher chance of ending the video on a banger.
I genuinely enjoyed the irregular at magic highschool. I'm glad you got it. that explanation was amazing. I'm genuinely glad I never watched that spinoff. it sounds terrible. I never got through the first episode.
I love these randomizer videos you make. It really shines a light on how weird some anime can get, and I really enjoy your reviews of things that I have never heard of. I can easily imagine one of these days something from this series sounding so interesting that I want to watch it too.
Random ovas from the 80’s or 90’s are always something special. I like finding random ones and watching them and I don’t even really watch anime but there’s definitely more bad than good
Glad to see you back, Lextorias. I had to go see the uncensored version of this and it was worth it 😅. Also the bonus chapter was cool. Can't wait for more randomizer videos.
Mgx is great bc the reletionship actually progresses. They don’t spend 19302 episodes with this more then friend but not lovers shit which feels so good and refreshing
Hahaha, guess it's time to refine the randomizer's algo or settings so you can filter out things that aren't shows. Maybe pick 1 or 2 weird things per episode and keep the rest as shows?
I am glad to say I watched MGX about 7 years ago, not only because it’s good but so I don’t have to ever see it again. I would go “awwww” one minute and then gag the next
please never stop this series lmao. the first of these introduced me to your channel, stuck around since and I'm glad this still gets the same quality as the rest of your stuff
its such a shame that MGX didnt do well financially and wont get a season 2. i honestly think its one of like 4 anime ever that have ever shown a realistic relationship progression.
You should watch Blue Gender. It's super weird that I've never heard anyone talk about it considering it's a 90s anime where giant Mecha fight giant mutant insects in a post-apocalyptic Earth. It probably is obscured due to sheer level of violence...
You should watch these if you haven’t already. -sirius jager -orbital children -bubble -backstreet girls gokudolls - vampire in the garden - moriarty the patriot Sorry for so many suggestions.
Absolutely love this series! It brings up so many weird an obscure stuff that I would have never checked out without finding it in a video like this. I remember when u came across “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” and I decide to check it out and it was awesome. I think it’s so cool how much research you put in your videos, never stop being you. Love the content man keep it up!!
Boogiepop and friends. When and if you land on it someday, you won't regret it. You'll be in for an admittedly gorey but very intriguing and action-packed story that'll leave you wanting more episode after episode.
You should watch Skip Beat! And read it because once the anime ends, you WILL wanna continue. If you want a good romance, albeit the slowest slowburn of all time…that’s it.
Love these episodes. Even if you stumble upon something obscure or non-anime TV series you still delve into it and provide very solid knowledge. Love this stuff.
You should watch Gatchaman Crowds , honestly in the beginning it has a premise that i already saw in many other places but as the episodes goes on i was surprised by how unique actually is. This show has a interesting take on what heroes job actually is and a concept that i never saw in any other place that is society kinda growing up, it's strange even putting in words but anyway is even more interesting how the villain is in a way a manifestation of the worst in us while acting like a kid just playing. Anyway, this anime marked me for life and i find sad about how unknown and underrated it is, so i guess i'm just trying to make it a little bit more know. Oh, and the sinopse don't say anything about the anime, literally useless after the first ep.
As someone who watches shows in this exact method I highly recommend adding filtering. There's just show many works out there that aren't series/movies and OVAs are such a wildcard. Personally, I also set a rule where if I get the spinoff or sequel to something I have to watch where it started. I'm also (annoyingly to some friends) not interested in anything before the 2000s. (there's just so much material pre-2000s and I want to see the weird era of the early 2000s more than I want to see older works)
Half expected the “pay with his body” to lead to Ryo getting set up for having his organs removed and him needing to work out how to escape. I’m disappointed.
yo!! i'm so glad to see how much you enjoyed mysterious girlfriend x, i remember really enjoying it and i'm glad it wasn't just me being early in my anime-watching with low standards
You should also watch: Parasite dolls Sol bianca Green legend ran Garden of sinners (just the whole series of 7 films dude) Read or die (ova, and rv series though they should be seperate) Beck (mongolian chop squad) Irina:vampire cosmonaut Shadows house World end (what are you doing...) Gakuen alice (hilarious) Wizard barristers Black rock shooter (original tv series and dawnfall as two seperate entries) Azumanga daioh Bartender Hataraki man Gokusen Atom:the beginning
MGX is one if the most underappreciated anime of all time. It's much more mature and content/minute heavy than most of the other romance anime. It clicked with me almost every second of its runtime. I am glad that more people are talking about this, and especially that you rated this as a must watch! I'll disagree with a drool thing though, I kinda liked it because of how intimate and unusual the concept is. Not the worst fetish I would say))
You should watch Karakai Jozu no Takagi-san. It might be a relatively simple middle school slice of life romcom built around teasing, but one with an incredibly cozy and wholesome vibe that will make you feel so heartwarmed most of the time. The lead couple's dynamic is stellar, they complement each other perfectly as they slowly but surely become closer. And it even improves on the souce manga by mixing up their mostly episodic chapters into a more cohesive narrative. It's like 36 episodes long divided in 3 seasons; as well as an OVA set between seasons 1 and 2 and a movie set after season 3 that kinda wraps up the main story. I'm not exactly into SOL or romance series all that much but this one was such a welcome surprise.
Cannot believe TFS Goku is man of culture. Watched Mysterious Girlfriend X after it's clips suddenly appearing on my timeline that were getting million+ views. At first it was hard to stomach, but got used to it and since it had a "purpose" meant it was more understandable. Great series for sure. Wish it had a S2
I have a great deal of respect for admitting that a particular aspect of a work of art makes you viscerally uncomfortable while also giving it a full-throated endorsement on its overall merits. There's a lot of posturing around off-putting or outré content in anime especially, in both the "for" and "against" directions, and I dunno, for all that I'm personally unfazed by stuff like this, I prefer that people just be real about what they feel and express that honestly. It's what art demands and what it deserves.
You should watch: Bessatsu Olympia Kyklos (time travel made stupid) Hoozuki no Reitetsu (you know that scene in YuYu Hakusho where they first visit like hells waiting room and there's devils running around with paperwork? It's that.) Aku no Hana (a kid who likes poetry has convinced himself he's too weird to relate to others, a girl in his class takes advantage of this) Serial Experiments Lain (the internet is basically omnipresent right? abstract bullshit go!) Nana (gals being pals, and then they were roommates, and they both deal with relationship stuff) Welcome to the NHK! (Rewatching an anime about a paranoid shut-in during peak panini times was a mistake, great series though if you haven't already seen it)
Honestly, safer alternative to MGX is Galaxy Next Door. Has the paranormal emotion/sick connection between the two leads even, but it's due to distance and a star disease, rather than spit. It also has the most consent I've ever seen in an anime. A very grounded relationship between two adults. Good for a refresher after watching Utena or something.
Damn, I'm really sorry about MGX making you so uncomfortable. I can understand getting grossed out by something in an anime, I get into some pretty weird/dark stuff so there's a lot of uncomfortable things out there. I really hope you don't get hooked into watching anything like that again (unless you want to ofc) I think you should watch an anime called Ghost talkers daydream! It's an OVA with only 4 episodes but the premise is intriguing and I think more people should watch it
You are officially one of my new comfort creators! Your content and style kind of remind me of Izzzyzz, and their stuff is super cool as well. Great work! And your voice makes the delivery very soothing, like animal crossing music haha :)
12:45 so my friend is an animator and she made one of those things for her portfolio that got her into uni, and the thing that makes them work is also them being lit by a flashing light, which the one you got in your randomizer didn't seem to do so it didn't create the effect properly
Since kimi no todoke is getting a 3rd season after TWELVE WHOLE YEARS, would recommend that as a watch if you want highschool romance at its peak. No weird shenanigans, no ecchi scenes, no convoluted melodramatic plots, just really fluffy romance developing between a very likeable and grounded cast
You should watch O maidens in your savage season if you haven’t already!! I watched it because of a MAL challenge and ended up really enjoying it, it handles its topics incredibly well for an anime and is definitely up there on my list. Loved the video, excited for more content :)
so I just found your channel/series and I am into it so much, I've watch like 3 videos and didn't even realize one of them are 50min long, keep on the good work I will for sure come back here to see, the way you search for the anime history of the studio and explain a lot is for sure a way to know that you are REALLY reacting and not only watching and talking random things, there is already 2 animes you show that I want to check it out myself, so yeah, thank you for the good content
I've enjoyed your videos. I had not idea what the poll was about though, until this dropped hahaha. btw, have you heard about Frieren at the Funeral/Frieren the Slayer? I think you might enjoy it. The manga is fantastic, and if the upcoming adaptation is good, it might be show of the year material :)
You should watch Kodomo No Jikan. It's a controversial show infamous in the anime community for having problematic fanservice but also for its well executed mystery that gets a heartfelt resolution as the series goes on. The English manga release to the series was in fact scrapped because of how much controversy was attached to it.
I adore this series! If you’re still taking suggestions: Mononoke! One of the most mesmerizing animes I’ve ever seen. I would also love to include Daughter of 20 faces. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone talk about it and would love to hear your thoughts.
You should watch Sgt. Frog or Osomatsu-san. Someone has probably suggested them because they were huge in japan but I'd love to see them get more love internationally ❤
I didn't think MGX would be as bad as you made it seem... in hindsight, I don't know how you sat thru the first episode, let alone all of them. You're a man of true fortitude
It is really not a proper explanation of the irregular in high magic school: He is not super powerful so have a seal that kills emotions: his brain is override to make him super powerful, so his emotions are not well. Also as far as i remember novel is ongoing. (under the name 'The Irregular at Magic High School Magian Company')
Another anime to add to the you should watch wheel: KADO the right answer. A lot of the wheel are really good shows already so it's actually a pretty good resource for people new to anime who just want to try random things and see what they like
Ahh Mysterious Girlfriend X. Back when I read any interesting manga I could find I found and read this series. As someone who has read far to many ecchi romcoms it is easily one of the better ones despite it's weirdness, I even completely forgot the drool thing until I started watching the anime recently. Since you haven't seen many romcoms you should watch Arakawa Under the Bridge. It is another strange one(no drool, and incredibly no ecchi), honestly not sure if I would call it a romcom, the original manga is by the same guy that did Saint Onii-san if you know what that is.
If it's not already on your wheel, I think you should watch SSSS Dynazenon. It's a really good character-driven drama punctuated by excellent mecha action. In my recent rewatches I've actually started to consider that it might edge out Kill la Kill as my 3rd favourite anime. Also SSSS Gridman, the previous show in the series and also very good. You don't need to watch it first, but it will help flesh out a certain character's backstory.
I gotta recommend Violet Evergarden, it was first anime I watched and what got me into anime. (this is coming from someone who studies Roman history instead of going to therapy.)
I appreciate that you talk about everything the wheel gives you even if its short or weird. I don't mind watching through another spin to make up for it! Also, you should watch Ascendance of a Bookworm! It's fantastic and the LN has currently consumed my entire life.
If the next ones comes out In 5 months we already know one piece was picked 💀
I think that's a generous time frame unless our boy vegs out the entire series nonstop.

You should watch Nana, Paradise Kiss, or Skip Beat. All three are drama heavy (people can debate over the last one tho), but with a strong focus on romance, since you mentioned you wanted more realistic ones, I figured these might be up your alley.
Para kiss is always a win.
I like finding random ones and watching them and I don’t even really watch anime but there’s definitely more bad than good
“What psychopath is watching these ads enough to rank them??” “Solid should watch”
I'm not smart enough to program that
I am glad to say I watched MGX about 7 years ago, not only because it’s good but so I don’t have to ever see it again.
-sirius jager
-orbital children
-bubble
-backstreet girls gokudolls
- vampire in the garden
- moriarty the patriot
Sorry for so many suggestions.
This RUclips series is one of my favorites
Absolutely love this series! It brings up so many weird an obscure stuff that I would have never checked out without finding it in a video like this. I remember when u came across “The Girl Who Leapt Through Time” and I decide to check it out and it was awesome. I think it’s so cool how much research you put in your videos, never stop being you. Love the content man keep it up!!
Boogiepop and friends. When and if you land on it someday, you won't regret it. You'll be in for an admittedly gorey but very intriguing and action-packed story that'll leave you wanting more episode after episode.
And boogiepop phantom
(there's just so much material pre-2000s and I want to see the weird era of the early 2000s more than I want to see older works)
adding filters and rules would make the selections better, but I enjoy the pure randomness. it can make finding a good show more satisfying
@@Lextorias ay to each their own. Hopefully your next selection will yield better things haha
Half expected the “pay with his body” to lead to Ryo getting set up for having his organs removed and him needing to work out how to escape. I’m disappointed.
I am a simple person. I see Mysterious Girlfriend X, I click.
On god
yo!! i'm so glad to see how much you enjoyed mysterious girlfriend x, i remember really enjoying it and i'm glad it wasn't just me being early in my anime-watching with low standards
The dangers of randomizers. Sometimes, you just strike out repeatedly. Oh well, hopefully next time is luckier.
You should also watch:
Parasite dolls
Sol bianca
Green legend ran
Garden of sinners (just the whole series of 7 films dude)
Read or die (ova, and rv series though they should be seperate)
Beck (mongolian chop squad)
Irina:vampire cosmonaut
Shadows house
World end (what are you doing...)
Gakuen alice (hilarious)
Wizard barristers
Black rock shooter (original tv series and dawnfall as two seperate entries)
Azumanga daioh
Bartender
Hataraki man
Gokusen
Atom:the beginning
The manga for Mysterious Girlfriend X was great too. It's a shame we didn't get more of the anime.
They guy who wrote MGX, you may wanna check out his other mangas. Ookumo-chan and Discommunication are both interesting in their own weird ways
You should watch:
Bessatsu Olympia Kyklos (time travel made stupid)
Hoozuki no Reitetsu (you know that scene in YuYu Hakusho where they first visit like hells waiting room and there's devils running around with paperwork? It's that.)
Aku no Hana (a kid who likes poetry has convinced himself he's too weird to relate to others, a girl in his class takes advantage of this)
Serial Experiments Lain (the internet is basically omnipresent right? abstract bullshit go!)
Nana (gals being pals, and then they were roommates, and they both deal with relationship stuff)
Welcome to the NHK! (Rewatching an anime about a paranoid shut-in during peak panini times was a mistake, great series though if you haven't already seen it)
my comment keeps getting automatically deleted. idk if it's the phrase you asked for that's doing it but I want to recommend Golden Kamuy.
This series is always interesting. Keep up the good work my man.
Ty for recommendation. Gonna check it out
I feel like the characters were painfully plain though
@hachikuji_mayoi yeaaah, agree. I dropped it after 2ep
Damn, I'm really sorry about MGX making you so uncomfortable. I can understand getting grossed out by something in an anime, I get into some pretty weird/dark stuff so there's a lot of uncomfortable things out there.
I really hope you don't get hooked into watching anything like that again (unless you want to ofc)
I think you should watch an anime called Ghost talkers daydream! It's an OVA with only 4 episodes but the premise is intriguing and I think more people should watch it
You are officially one of my new comfort creators! Your content and style kind of remind me of Izzzyzz, and their stuff is super cool as well. Great work! And your voice makes the delivery very soothing, like animal crossing music haha :)
and by "style" i mean topics you cover; sorry, hit enter before I could get my thought right haha
You should watch Tenkuu no Escaflowne; there is a series and a movie, though the movie is just a shorter, reimagined version of the anime.
Your reaction to the saliva really made me laugh out loud 🤣
I know it must have been a big decision. But glad to hear your doing RUclips full-time! Looking forward to more!
Thank you so much! With how much I enjoy making videos, it was the easiest decision in the world
12:45 so my friend is an animator and she made one of those things for her portfolio that got her into uni, and the thing that makes them work is also them being lit by a flashing light, which the one you got in your randomizer didn't seem to do so it didn't create the effect properly
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL SO MUCH YOU MAKE ME FEEL SO COMFORTABLE AND LIKE THINGS WILL BE OKAY… FAITH IN THE FACT THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE LIKE ME
you should watch redo of healer . its a great wholesome anime that has an entertaining revenge plot
already seen it :(
@@Lextorias oh. I'm... so sorry. Hope your mental state is okay brother
I can't wait for this series to just devolve until we see you smoking a cigarette and recreating Hayao Miyazaki saying "Anime was a Mistake."
Oh, 21:50 that's all it took...
Someone has probably suggested them because they were huge in japan but I'd love to see them get more love internationally ❤
my favorite series please keep em coming
I love this series of random anime. It makes me wonder if you will get to the point you have seen most of your picks.
there’s 24,000 entries
I didn't think MGX would be as bad as you made it seem... in hindsight, I don't know how you sat thru the first episode, let alone all of them. You're a man of true fortitude
It is really not a proper explanation of the irregular in high magic school:
He is not super powerful so have a seal that kills emotions: his brain is override to make him super powerful, so his emotions are not well.
Also as far as i remember novel is ongoing. (under the name 'The Irregular at Magic High School Magian Company')
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY New video from THE most underated RUclipsr ever!
The fanservice stuff is one of the best elements of City Hunter, are you kidding me?
You should watch Girls Last Tour, probably my favorite anime of all time
I'd feel bad for him, but he's the one who put all this random stuff on his anime list, lol. Can't blame the randomizer for that.
It's not a list of shows I'm picking from. It's the entirety of MyAnimeList. Still my fault for programming the website though
City Hunter also have Chinese live action adaptation, Starring Jackie Chan. there is also Korean Drama based on it with the same name.
I appreciate that you talk about everything the wheel gives you even if its short or weird. I don't mind watching through another spin to make up for it!
Also, you should watch Ascendance of a Bookworm! It's fantastic and the LN has currently consumed my entire life.
Love this series. I really enjoy the depth you go into every anime before watching hope to see more soon
I feel like the censoring in Mysterious Girlfriend X makes it worse than it already is lel
as someone who had to edit the video, it does not
