Hey everyone! I’m the guy the appeared at 8:55! I want to say that it was an amazing experience being judge by Garnt and I had a lot of laughs throughout it all! I showed my mom my section and she found it really funny as well! Loved seeing everyone else’s anime tastes and let’s all hope there can be more streams like this bc it was such a fun time! And showing love to all Maison Ikkoku fans!!
Honestly it was tough for me . Because I like alot of older Anime like Captain Harlock. But unfortunately there's only 9 spots. And I couldn't fit it in. Plus I really like alot of the Gundam Anime series as well. It's so difficult. 😭
Yeah, I'd watch this monthly. I have no one to talk about anime with, so considering that anime is my only entertainment these days, seeing other's anime preferences feels like being in the community.
@@kallistikaleidI agree though as a woman, I feel like I don't have a lot of fans to connect with as I don't really like ecchi anime, which I noticed a lot had on their lists here. Though at least it warmed my heart that a lot of people like more wholesome shows like Clannad.

11:08 that's Crazy that her mom watched Maison Ikkoku and Macross as an Indian, if I am right then macross aired on Animax but not sure about Maison Ikkoku I remember those days cause I am Indian too
I actually like Weathering With You more than Your Name. Went and saw it in theaters in 2020 that January (before the world imploded on itself) and loved it. Now, I do think in terms of the amount of amazing songs, Your Name wins, but I had/have the biggest obsession with "We'll Be Alright" from Weathering With You. It was my top song on Spotify for the year from just how much I looped it. I especially liked the ending of Weathering With You more. You called the plot "messy", but I would apply that word more to Suzume. Saw that in theaters as well. It was alright and the themeing for how easy it is to see someone one moment and the next, they're gone, did nearly have me tearing up (spoiler: the 2011 earthquake plays a part in the plot. There's a scene where they show people saying things like, "See you at dinner!" and "Have a great day at school!" and then...they're gone. Those people never got to see their families again. And while it's an anime, it most certainly was the case in 2011. That hit hard and it was a struggle not to embarrass myself in the theater crying). But I think there were some parts that were a bit weird, such as the arrival of the second cat. That felt rushed and very "Who the heck is this?", and yet no character even batted an eye when I feel that deserved more explanation.
Saw both in cinema too. Weathering with you works amazing on the big screen with the sky scenes. Personal favorite but would recommend Suzume to friends because of the action ... and see them cry..eh..educate them on the 2011 disaster
Watching anime with your mom? I actually got my mom to watch all of Mushoku Tensei after we finished Violet Evergarden and Usagi Drop. Quite the insane jump but I showed her the beginning of ep 4 and she liked the drama. She absolutely loves Eris and wasn’t a fan of Sylphy replacing her. She was also so terrified for Rudy when they ran into Orstead.
I mean she was all in on the cheesy Lifetime dramas where theres cheating and murder and also loves Law & Order SVU where there’s always r*pe and trafficking. Also she’s my mom, which means she brought me into this world through birth and everything that entails. The anime does a great job of not making light of Rudy’s behavior and it’s always in the context of this is where he starts his redemption arc so you have to brave the darkness before you reach the light.
I've never done a 3x3 before but now I think I might do one because I'm curious what it will say about my tastes in anime. Edit: Alright here's, my 3x3 and my reasons why. - *Konosuba:* It was so addictive and started the beginning of my binging arc - *My Hero Academia:* Amazing fights with good emotion, though season 5 sucked and I would've like the upcoming movie to be around Stars and Stripes - *Haikyu!!:* Nothing more satisfying and intense than spiking a ball and still waiting on Blue Lock to up the hype - *Love is War:* Best comedy anime and the quality only got better over time - *One Punch Man:* My first experience seeing anime and the animation goes BRRRR - *Bocchi the Rock:* Cute girls not just doing cute things and deserves Anime of the Year, sorry Mob and Chainsaw Man - *Chainsaw Man:* Even though it's just starting, I love ominous and creepy themes, they did the atmosphere amazingly. I also felt underwhelmed by the hype behind the animation and thought it was gonna be crazy every second so I'm really hoping season 2 brings me that adrenaline rush. - *Kill la Kill:* Do I have to say why? "Don't Lose Your Way" is my favorite anime song. - *Komi Can't Communicate:* Funny levels are through the roof Heavenly Delusion, Lycoris Recoil, and Frieren are my other contenders but I can only fit so many. Also Land of the Lustrous is one of my favorite anime. Kaiju no 8 is gonna replace someone on this list hopefully but I need to wait until the season is over.
Mine would be: Kochikame,Code;Geass,Rurouni Kenshin, Great Teacher Onizuka, Cyborg 009, Gurenn Lagaan,Devilman, Pokemon ( Indigo League to XYZ, except BW), Genesis of Aquarion.
Shield Hero, Arifureta, How NOT To Summon A Demon Lord, Assault Lily: Bouquet, Tsukimichi, Accel World, Black Bullet(screw you, Gigguk!), 86, The Itaden Dieties Know Only Peace, Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War (tentatively, since the was like 4 more I had a hard time leaving out) The issue is, the main reason many if these are in there is because I ended up reading the light novels and THAT made me love the anime more, like Ieskai Maou. The anime is too goofy, but I adore the novels, so the anime is precious to me.
It's been ages since this stream in particular, definitely i want to create a MAL list myself at the end of the year to see commemorate the 10 years since i really got into these media.
I think earlier this year, I finally sat down and began mine. Need to find a list of English translated titles of anime (since I usually watch dub and MAL has only the Japanese/romaji titles) to find the stuff I watched in my early anime years.
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley well I wish u good luck :) , in My case I pretty much recorder all the series in the last years on My E notebook on My phone and I don't know how did I do that.
Have to say, I loved the idea soo much I rushed to make mine. What I thought would be filled with mainstream choices ended up being a lot more vulnerable showing the things that shaped every era in my anime journey. That's why I think people are doing this list wrong if you just have mainstream stuff.
1. Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro 2. Great Teacher Onizuka 3. Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal 4. Cowboy Bebop 5. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood 6. Hajime No Ippo 7. Death Note 8. Mushoku Tensei 9. Sousou no Frieren I was going to put some way out of left field like "Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu", "Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai", or "Sexy Commando Gaiden", but most people will probably have no idea what it is. The first 3 on the list was among what I was introduced to, along with Neon Genesis Evangelion. Pretty much watched anime before it became main stream. Then moved to Ranma 1/2, Love Hina, Serial Experiments Lain, FLCL, Noir, Full Metal Panic, etc. I don't know if I should count the older ones since I didn't really know that they were anime at the time growing up, such as Voltes V, Macross, Dragon Ball, Ronin Warriors, Sailor Moon, etc. For the cultured list: Chobits, Midori Days, Crying Freeman, Kite, Perfect Blue but I don't think I should go deeper to the "cultured-cultured" list that I've seen like some of the ones mentioned in the chat. Pretty much dabbled to almost anything I believed I haven't seen... but it wasn't really the best idea. A few years back, the number of anime exploded that I was no longer able to keep up, considering working full time in engineering field. That's where I started looking for suggestions from channels like Garnt's to narrow it down to 1 to 3 per season.
When you're casually watching your favourite RUclipsr and at 28:25 you hear something so familiar and realize he (or his editors) used a teeny bit of your music (Vegeta Cover) during a rage reaction. That's a damn trippy and humbling feeling LOL
My 3x3 Hyouka (10/10): My favorite anime as of this moment. Kyoto Animation made a masterpiece through and through. To tell well-crafted mysteries of largely mundane subjects while providing plenty of clues for the viewer to piece things together themselves - it's not something I see from other mystery series I've watched. Kaguya-Sama (10/10): My favorite romance and one of the best comedy anime. I don't think a single episode is less than great. I genuinely struggle to detail why it works for me; it just does. Diamond is Unbreakable (9/10): My favorite animated JoJo part, and the part that really got me invested in Araki's world. Morioh has my favorite overall cast of the series, and Kira is still my favorite main antagonist in the series and it's not even close. It also helped me and my brother close a gap we've had for years as a mutual interest. Quintessential Quintuplets (6/10): The horny romance anime that I actually like (actually BokuYabai is another, but less important to me). There is so much love poured into the cast, with each of the sisters having so much personality that overshadows the "personality". Even the protagonist has a decent character arc. Its a "don't just a book by it's cover" series for me, even if I still rate it rather low. Castle in the Sky: My nostalgia pick. It was my first Ghibli film, watched through Netflix... back in the day when Netflix mailed you movies. The sense of wonder and the beauty of the world enraptured me from a young age, and the discovery of Laputa scratched a similar itch to my youthful dream of being a paleontologist, finding fossils lost to time. Silver Spoon (8/10): To acknowledge the elephant in the room, I have to start by saying that I like FMA more. But Arakawa doesn't miss, the themes and principles explored in Silver Spoon are immaculate. The main issue I have with it is that it takes a while to get into the characters, but they're all great, regardless. Assassination Classroom (7/10): I'll be transparent - I hate season 2, it does not do it for me whatsoever. That being said, Koro-Sensei's methodology genuinely played a role in me studying to be a teacher. And I have to give credit where credit is due. Neon Genesis Evangelion (10/10): I hated EVA when I first watched it. So much so that I wrote a pissy twitlonger no one read complaining about how bad it was. And then I watched it again at my lowest point (and after studying basic psychology) and it was phenomenal. It is both an exploration of Freudian psychology and a cry for help from a man at his lowest point. And Anno made something beautiful. Kill la Kill (5/10): This is not just the anime but *the piece of media in general* I am the most divisive on. It has some very interesting ideas and I like most of the characters, but I don't think it was executed well and the characters are for the most part, static. And the latter half of the show implodes on itself. And that's why it's here, on my 3x3. I have thought about this show too much. It is among the shows that I have rewatched the most, an honor held only by shows I like otherwise. I have contempated my opinion on Kill la Kill for years, and as of right now, it lands as a 5/10 for doing a lot of things right and a lot of things wrong, and that' ok. Unlike plenty of other shows which have my opinions morphed by thoughts of others, this is the one I concluded on with no outside interference. That is why it belongs here.
That's the first time I've heard anyone say season 2 of AC was bad; I thought it was a great step up from season 1. Glad to see JoJo part 4 and Kaguya-Sama get some love, those two are on my 3x3 as well
@@diabeticman2194 I do have to admit it's been a few years since the last time I watched AC, but I remember getting a sour taste in my mouth as season two progressed that I struggle to define. Maybe it's time I give it another go to see if my opinion has shifted!
@@thepsyshyster I do remember there was a twist towards the end that was out of left field, but didn't go anywhere once it concluded (it was a bit naff looking back) but overall I thought it concluded a lot of character arcs very nicely. A bit more serious than season 1, but in a good way imo
my 3 by 3 wasnt shown but mine were yugioh, vivy, konosuba, aot, mushoku tensei, date a live, rezero, love chuunibyo, monster. vivy, mushoku, rezero all speak for themselves. masterpieces. yugioh, date a live, love chuunibyo were first animes i watched so nostalgia lol

My 9x9 would be: • Azumanga Daioh • Princess Tutu • Flame of Recca • Magic Knight Rayearth • Cardcaptor Sakura • Acchi Kochi • Yakitate Japan • Chihayafuru • Maria Watches Over Us
Oh man, I've never thought about trying to make an "essential" anime list of just nine. I am one of those old school fans, turned 50 this year, started in 1979 with "Starblazers (Space Battleship Yamato)", or maybe even earlier if you count the odd "Astroboy" episode I caught. Let's see, I'll try and rattle off a quick list just for fun: 1. Gintama 2. GitS: SAC 3. Macross 4. Azumanga Daioh 5. Ranma 1/2 6. Gunbuster 7. Kill La Kill 8. Konosuba 9. Bocchi the Rock Okay, only thing I tried to do was to pick stuff from all over my 40+ years of watching anime. Some compromises were made.
My 3 by 3 is cardcaptor Sakura, black clover, 7 deadly sins, dead mount death play, kill la kill, Pokémon, fire force, that time I was reincarnated as a slime, food wars
Lemme drop le bomb. My anime 3x3: Maid-sama Cyberpunk Edgerunners Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Kill la Kill Chainsaw Man One Piece Monster Alita: Battle Angel Golden Kamuy
I’m the second guy, very glad I was able to appear in this video! (If I were to change anything I’d change cyberpunk to rascal does not dream of bunny girl senpai)
i think my nine would be: - Bartender - Code Geass - Beck - Darker than Black - Ef: A Tale of Memories - Tanya the Saga of Evil - The Eminence in Shadow - Log Horizon S1 - One Outs Roast me random people on the internet ^^
I need more videos like this;) I really liked this lists of cultured people.... Edit: You could do this also for manga imo;) would be cool finding the really weird ones;)
I was thinking about my list and it's very hard to chose. I thought of Serial Experiments Lain first before anything, them realised Garnt has a lain shirt on. I like to think I'd create a list considered cultured by Garnt if I made one due to this one fact😂
The guy with the mom who watched macross with him checks out bc my dad watched macross when he was growing up (Robotech in America) and he inadvertantly made me a weeb by giving me introducing me to kissanime so I could watch it
Im 24 and I just kept laughing as he assumed “oh youvd watched this then you MUST be on yours 30s” lmao To be fair I started watching anime super early (probably 10/11 yo) maybe thats why Im a degenerate girl haha
My 3x3 is 1 Katekyo Hitman Reborn, 2. Air Gear, 3. Elfen Lied, 4. Haikyuu, 5. Eyeshield 21, 6. Mushoku Tensei. 7. How a Realist Hero Rebuilt A Kingdom, 8. Welcome to the NHK, 9. Welcome to the Ballroom.
My Anime 3x3 1 Serial Experiments Lain 2 Gravitation 3 Visions of Escaflowne 4 Gundam Wing 5 Golden boy 6 FLCL 7 Neon Genesis Evangelion 8 Eureka7 9 Trigun Pretty much my golden oldies 😅
I was born in 1978 and has been watching anime since 1999. Well as a kid I loved Robotech because it looked cool but also it was more mature with fighting having real consequences, it also helped it only existed on VHS over here so i only watched the first 21 Episodes. Then there was a hiatus until 1999 when a friend had acquired English dub VHS tapes of Macross Plus and Neon Genesis Evangelion. I though those where pretty great. Before that at some point i had seen The Guyver on tv. I didn't really get into anime until 2000 when a friend showed the Lodos War OVA which he had burned onto DVD's because HDD's in those days had terrible storage. That was also the first subbed Anime I watched and it got me hooked because the voice acting was so much better. After that I was hooked just binged a bunch of anime i don't even remember properly. It was basically all 90's anime as it was 2001-2003, Gundam Seed was the first anime I followed as it released. What i do remember is that Maburaho was the first Harem anime both me and my friend watched and we thought all the Harem tropes was the funniest thing ever. These days I'm jaded and can't stand teenage angst harem anime's I also watched Berserk blind around 2002-2003 and that ending .............i had to rewatch some happy earlier episodes to get over it. I have found that I like female writers of anime because those tend to write more complex interpersonal relations. Ceres, Celestial Legend and Fushigi Yûgi where some of my favourites in the 2000's. Today I watch the occasional anime that looks interesting, Cyberpunk 2077 was one of those. The main reason I follow Gigguk is his Winter Spring Sumer and Fall anime listings of shows if something is interesting.
It was way too respectful, not enough roasting. When there'll be next session, I volunteer as a tribute with possibly the trashiest taste in the whole anime community. And no, I'm not some troll who intentionally gives bad anime a score of 10 and good anime a score of 1. It's just my honest anime tastes and opinions usually go against public consensus.
9:00 Nice! Code Geass and Stein's Gate. It's cool seeing someone with 2 (kind of because I prefer Stein's Gate 0 over Stein's Gate, but they could easily be grouped together as they're both part of the same story) of my 9.
Hold up did Garnt say that he has not seen Assasination Classroom? I feel like he would get a kick out of that one. It's got that great blend of edgy action show and Surprisingly deep character moments out of no where. The color usage in that show is also so good. Like small detail moment, but the color usage for contrast is so good. There are so many moments that they make sure you are focused on the right things through usage of stark contrasting colors. Idk how coherent that is, but I'm still in shock that Garnt has not seen the show. I highly recommend checking out at some point. I'll always rate it high thanks to who I watched the show with, but outside personal bias I think the show is good fun.
When was the last time y'all watched Assassination Classroom? I liked it alright when it aired, but we watched it again recently for anime club and none of us were impressed. I feel like it's trying to do too much and doesn't do any of those things well enough to be memorable.
I watched AC for the first time earlier this year, it was just a fun time all around. While I do think a lot of the class didn't get the most development ever, the ones that did got some very good moments to shine. Not sure how hot a take this is, but season 2>season 1
Disappointed no one had Ninja Scroll, Princess Mononoke, Yu Yu Hakusho, Serial Experiments Lain, Initial D, Tekkaman Blade or KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops...... Newer Anime is amazing but the classics still hit hard. Not my tops, but these gems became the gateway into anime for us
20:05 I'm 18 and disappearance of haruhi suzumiya is easily my favourite anime movie, and my second favourite anime thing in general. I'm a huge mystery fan and I think disappearance is the gold standard.
Yo Haganai is based. Giving that a 10/10 seems reasonable. It's like the best ecchi harem anime IMO. It has a monster hunter episode. People just remember the dub of the blonde girl reading out the eroge and forget all the other parts of the show.
FRFR!! its incredibly based i really enjoyed it one of my fav anime! its a shame nobody remembers anything else that the show had its really good. also fun fact the scene where sena reads out the eroge is just not in the manga idk if its in the LN tho since i have not read it yet.
My 3x3 ( and not gonna elaborate on any of them) is : Log Horizon Princess Yuchi Pretty cure Sargent Keroro Gundam G Fuuto PI Bleach I'm a Spider So what Love After World Domination
My three x three would be: Ah My Goddess, Maburaho - my classic guilty pleasures (iykwim 😉) Yu Yu Hakusho, Slam Dunk - my all-time favorites xxHolic- that weird anime I always keep going back to Darker than Black, Subete ga F ni Naru- my top edgy anime picks Gurren Lagann- if I were to pick something that describes my taste in anime for the last 10 years Shangrila Frontier- my current status
Ahh would've loved to get in on this! I think I have a pretty good 3x3 too, damn Edit: Here's my list, in no particular order, some may think it's shit: Kaguya-Sama, Mobile Suit Gundam 00, Accel World, Death Note, Bleach, Saki: Achiga hen, Log Horizon, Fate Zero, Your Lie in April
Mmmmm what i would chose? 1.Bublegum Crisis (the original 8 vhs tape OVA), 2.Silent Möbius (Move 1 +2 on Laserdisk, TV series on VHS), 3.Tenchi Muyo (Laserdisk), 4.Noir (DVD), 5.ef a Tale of Memorys/Melody (DVD), 6.Slayers (VHS, Lina invers Kwala for life ,-)) ), 7.Code Geas (DVD),8. Acendence of a Bookworm, 9 Gundum 00. 9 is a hard limit otherwise would be things like Ranma 1/2 OVA, Yuru Camp, and newer stuff, stuff dont sticks as hard as it deserves because im heavyly in Web and Light novels so Animes based on that dont tends to stick as hard as they could with the expection of bookworm (not becasue it has super high production value but becaise its my all time vavorita in LN form)
Where do we submit these 3x3s (and potentially links to out MAL)? This sounds and looks fun and maybe I’d try this out, but I’ve deleted my twitter account and I don’t know if I’m so keen on making a new one just for this. If there are other means I try this out, otherwise I’ll just continue to chill out and enjoy the show from here 😊
I swear I've seen clips of this stream months before. That's quite the lag but the editing definitely made this better. I would love to see Garnt react to my 3x3. I know for sure which anime he will be focusing on the most if he ever does and I will have a pretty solid alibi for my defence. 😁

@syrusalder7795 the mangas' last volume should be out soon. I'm assuming since the first season was 2014 and 2nd was 2016, if we get 2 more seasons, I think it'll be 2024 and 2026... just a little pet theory of mine
I remember trying to do a 9x9 a while ago, what I came up with was: Odd Taxi SpyxFamily Kaguya-Sama JoJo (DiU would be the one I'd pick specifically for this) Classroom of the Elite Bocchi the Rock One Punch Man Attack on Titan Haikyuu! (season 3 specifically, that was incredible) Mine definitely has recency bias as I only got into anime a couple of years ago, but these are the anime that impacted me/I enjoyed the most
I legitimately love domestic girlfriend purely for the fact that the plot develops significantly and quickly, compared to lots of romance anime where nothing happens or it takes a very long time for something to happen. And it also dives into adult subjects unlike lots of romances where hand holding is practically the equivalent to sodomy.

Garnt make this a sub thing. Pay 5$ to roast your viewers anime taste, you'll be a millionaire.
That's lame

I remember those days cause I am Indian too
I actually like Weathering With You more than Your Name.
And she didn't mind the... Lewd scenes?
Hey come on now you better answer his question🧐
you are def the last guy☠
I love mushoku tensei but no way I'm watching that with my parents
- *Konosuba:* It was so addictive and started the beginning of my binging arc
- *My Hero Academia:* Amazing fights with good emotion, though season 5 sucked and I would've like the upcoming movie to be around Stars and Stripes
- *Haikyu!!:* Nothing more satisfying and intense than spiking a ball and still waiting on Blue Lock to up the hype
- *Love is War:* Best comedy anime and the quality only got better over time
- *One Punch Man:* My first experience seeing anime and the animation goes BRRRR
- *Bocchi the Rock:* Cute girls not just doing cute things and deserves Anime of the Year, sorry Mob and Chainsaw Man
- *Chainsaw Man:* Even though it's just starting, I love ominous and creepy themes, they did the atmosphere amazingly. I also felt underwhelmed by the hype behind the animation and thought it was gonna be crazy every second so I'm really hoping season 2 brings me that adrenaline rush.
- *Kill la Kill:* Do I have to say why? "Don't Lose Your Way" is my favorite anime song.
- *Komi Can't Communicate:* Funny levels are through the roof
Heavenly Delusion, Lycoris Recoil, and Frieren are my other contenders but I can only fit so many. Also Land of the Lustrous is one of my favorite anime. Kaiju no 8 is gonna replace someone on this list hopefully but I need to wait until the season is over.
What’s your 3x3? Mine would be AOT, One Piece, Gintama, Trigun, Baccano!, Jojo’s, Vinland Saga, Horimiya
People been doing that on the anime list subreddit so you can post it there
Mine would be Death Parade, Assassination Classroom, Bleach, Cowboy Bebop, Horimiya, Yu-Gi-Yoh!, Fate: Zero, Black Lagoon, FMAB
Mine would be: Kochikame,Code;Geass,Rurouni Kenshin, Great Teacher Onizuka, Cyborg 009, Gurenn Lagaan,Devilman, Pokemon ( Indigo League to XYZ, except BW), Genesis of Aquarion.
Shield Hero, Arifureta, How NOT To Summon A Demon Lord, Assault Lily: Bouquet, Tsukimichi, Accel World, Black Bullet(screw you, Gigguk!), 86, The Itaden Dieties Know Only Peace, Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War (tentatively, since the was like 4 more I had a hard time leaving out)
The issue is, the main reason many if these are in there is because I ended up reading the light novels and THAT made me love the anime more, like Ieskai Maou. The anime is too goofy, but I adore the novels, so the anime is precious to me.
This is genuinely such a fun way to bond with the community. 14:10 killed me cuz it’s so real 😂
It's been ages since this stream in particular, definitely i want to create a MAL list myself at the end of the year to see commemorate the 10 years since i really got into these media.
Ah, I've been feeling a strange sense of deja vu.
Damn i started anime 2003. And reading your comment made me realize im 20 years into watching anime. Shit im old
@@shoelugs well congrats 🎉
Honestly this is a really neat idea, would be fun to do this with friends. At the very least I should make one of these myself. Thanks for the video.
Have to say, I loved the idea soo much I rushed to make mine. What I thought would be filled with mainstream choices ended up being a lot more vulnerable showing the things that shaped every era in my anime journey. That's why I think people are doing this list wrong if you just have mainstream stuff.
For some ppl mainstream stuff is all they watch.
About 80% of anime fans will never watch anything beyond mainstream. Only 20% will ever go really niche.
1. Lupin III: Castle of Cagliostro
2. Great Teacher Onizuka
3. Rurouni Kenshin: Trust and Betrayal
4. Cowboy Bebop
5. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
6. Hajime No Ippo
7. Death Note
8. Mushoku Tensei
9. Sousou no Frieren
I was going to put some way out of left field like "Jungle wa Itsumo Hare nochi Guu", "Abenobashi Mahou Shoutengai", or "Sexy Commando Gaiden", but most people will probably have no idea what it is.
Lupin III: Castle of cagliostro is very nostalgic for me
When you're casually watching your favourite RUclipsr and at 28:25 you hear something so familiar and realize he (or his editors) used a teeny bit of your music (Vegeta Cover) during a rage reaction.
That's a damn trippy and humbling feeling LOL
My 3x3
Hyouka (10/10): My favorite anime as of this moment.
That is why it belongs here.
can i just say that i love you. HYOOOKAAAA
LOVE IS WAAAAR
Hyouka my beloved
my 3 by 3 wasnt shown but mine were yugioh, vivy, konosuba, aot, mushoku tensei, date a live, rezero, love chuunibyo, monster.

• Cardcaptor Sakura
• Acchi Kochi
• Yakitate Japan
• Chihayafuru

Oh man, I've never thought about trying to make an "essential" anime list of just nine. I am one of those old school fans, turned 50 this year, started in 1979 with "Starblazers (Space Battleship Yamato)", or maybe even earlier if you count the odd "Astroboy" episode I caught. Let's see, I'll try and rattle off a quick list just for fun:
1. Gintama
2. GitS: SAC
3. Macross
4. Azumanga Daioh
5. Ranma 1/2
6. Gunbuster
7. Kill La Kill
8. Konosuba
9. Bocchi the Rock
Okay, only thing I tried to do was to pick stuff from all over my 40+ years of watching anime. Some compromises were made.
Definitely do more of these, but not too frequently or it'll get boring fast. Maybe like once a month or every other month.
My 3 by 3 is cardcaptor Sakura, black clover, 7 deadly sins, dead mount death play, kill la kill, Pokémon, fire force, that time I was reincarnated as a slime, food wars
"..maybe have changed you as a person." * shows Gardevoir *

Please do more of this. Really funny content!
These days I'm jaded and can't stand teenage angst harem anime's
I also watched Berserk blind around 2002-2003 and that ending .............i had to rewatch some happy earlier episodes to get over it.
Incest?
Yeah whenever he mentions he hasn't seen AssClass I get so much pain XD it's def his type of show and it's also very fucking good
When was the last time y'all watched Assassination Classroom? I liked it alright when it aired, but we watched it again recently for anime club and none of us were impressed. I feel like it's trying to do too much and doesn't do any of those things well enough to be memorable.
@@LikeACroutonNo offense but this is a terrible take in my opinion.
Not my tops, but these gems became the gateway into anime for us
I would have had Ninja Scroll. Was the first anime I ever saw, on a bootleg VHS.

@syrusalder7795 the mangas' last volume should be out soon. I'm assuming since the first season was 2014 and 2nd was 2016, if we get 2 more seasons, I think it'll be 2024 and 2026... just a little pet theory of mine
I remember trying to do a 9x9 a while ago, what I came up with was:
Odd Taxi
SpyxFamily
Kaguya-Sama
JoJo (DiU would be the one I'd pick specifically for this)
Classroom of the Elite
Bocchi the Rock
One Punch Man
Attack on Titan
Haikyuu! (season 3 specifically, that was incredible)
Mine definitely has recency bias as I only got into anime a couple of years ago, but these are the anime that impacted me/I enjoyed the most
Ngl, I agree with MOST of garnts takes, but domestic girlfriend?????
I legitimately love domestic girlfriend purely for the fact that the plot develops significantly and quickly, compared to lots of romance anime where nothing happens or it takes a very long time for something to happen. And it also dives into adult subjects unlike lots of romances where hand holding is practically the equivalent to sodomy.
