Who is Tommy Robinson and why is he in jail? - BBC News

- Опубликовано: 26 июн 2018
- Tommy Robinson has been jailed for 13 months after breaking contempt of court laws for streaming a Facebook Live outside Leeds court.
Since his imprisonment there's been mass protests to #freetommy, claiming he's a victim of censorship.
We explain who Tommy is, why he has been sent to jail and why his imprisonment is more about the right to a fair trial than freedom of speech.

He is in jail for contempt of court.
Xaron Xe he violated no law. What loss harm or injury did he cause to anyone? None. Exactly!.

JT STEALTH I feel sorry for your mum🤣🤣
This kind of propaganda and political bias is why I stopped watching TV. I haven't paid the BBC licence fee in almost 5 years. The British public shouldn't be paying for biased journalism. Switch off your TV permanently and encourage others to do the same.
Rob Knowledge how is it propaganda?
Salokin how is it not?
They just reported the events pretty accurately
Why do they keep dragging up his EDL days it's old news and irrelevant
They reported the establishment's side of the story Salokin which of course is OK with you but it is a lie.
A guy who reports the truth. He reports things the BBC and other news organisations should be telling the masses.
He's a Zionist neocon shill who is only interested in bringing his country down for coke money
The job of the BBC, and the other msm outlets, is to misinform. ‘News’ programmes are actually programs.
I LOVE THIS GUY
Only problem is that your he posted video on the trail which is illegal as it could have sway in the jury’s thoughts
@@Toodyslexicforyou
No. The trial was over. The jury had already reached it's verdict.
And Tommy, mindful of the potential problems, had asked the court before hand if there were any reporting restrictions on the case and there weren't any so he didn't commit a crime.
And Tommy didn't plead guilty to the alledged reporting offence as was reported here.
But apart from that........... the BBC and the rest of the main stream media got it absolutely right🤪🙄 - which is why you shouldn't trust their biased propaganda. Citizen journalism is often more reliabe for news information these days'.
So talking and highlighting these predators is a bad thing? 1000 girls abused now and he was silenced by exposing a handful of these to the public 👁.
BBC, do yourself a favour and just shut up with the lies.
Reality got too close again.

When the laws are against everyone except the criminals
Actually this law protects all criminals, to prevent anyone from interfering the process of justice. In this case Bobby Whuttinson was the aggressor.

just when I thought the BBC couldn't get any more biased towards the far left.
The BBC is subject to a charter agreed by the elected parliament. Globalist social media is not. Big difference. Those wanting to undermine British law and the BBC use globalist social media. Robinson-Lennon, as the video pointed out, and which the globalist social media do not, pleaded guilty!!
Its reporting the facts. if theyre lying sue them...we have strong libel laws in the uk. Go on sue the BBC.....
Gar Sm he pleaded guilty because if he didn't they were going to give him 2 years. You really are a simple person if you believe the drivel pumped out by the BBC
He was gullty. I believe the BBC more than globalist social media propraganda funded from abroad, and I believe in British law and order more than this globalist propaganda. Robinson-Lennon has a long criminal record.
“it’s about silencing him it’s about protecting gang rapists”

‘Drunken 16 year old girl’ interesting decision to include the word ‘drunken’, yet not elaborate on where the alcohol came from. Based on police evidence from previous cases it’s likely the alcohol was provided by her abusers.

This is what real extremists look like
Missing some details there, BBC, what a shock. How can he possibly influence a trial that had ended and was there awaiting the verdict?
By arresting him after the Police Officer said to him that it was okay to film there, the show put on by the Police and the Judge would do more harm to influence the trial than him standing there filming.
Oh and him pleading guilty is not worth noting, it is irrelevant to what we are saying. He was unjustly sentenced to jail by a corrupt system. His solicitor was told he was being released, he was whipped through court and given a useless lawyer who advised him to plead guilty. So him saying he plead guilty doesn't mean jack!
Watch it again and get someone to explain the parts you don't understand.
Yup as I suspected. Propaganda. That's not why he's in jail. Few weeks ago the police announced via the BBC(MI7) they were having trouble containing right wing demonstrations. Groups like FLA were stretching resources to the limit.
Since then three far right leaders who attract alot of followers Tommy Robinson, Jayda Fransen and Paul Golding have been jailed on nonsense charges relating to their journalism.
I don't believe in coincidence like that an you should not either.

BBC:
Why aren't you more ashamed of yourself?
because right wing extremists are stupid.
Psicopaths, that’s the kind of intellectuals that criticize the BBC. When asked to provide any examples of bias reporting compared to Sky, ITV, Channel 4, or Channel 5 they inevitably stay quiet. The fact of the matter is the Conservative party have a long standing opinion that the BBC are bias towards them, so much so they have questioned several BBC chairmen & threatened time & time again to review their revenue stream, which is coded language for abolishing the licence fee. Not once to my knowledge has the BBC been found to be in breach of its charter.
Nevertheless people think it’s analytical to say they are anti Britain, pro immigration, & extremely left wing.
Asgdf jkglh all extremists are stupid, whether on the right or the left. Politics is like a big circle, with sensible, centralised opinion at the apex - follow your political ideals in either direction to the left or right and you descend away from the apex and, eventually, they meet right down at the nadir where stupidity lies.
@@asgdfjkglh5414 doesnt make sense? Read the question again...

Does his past really matter? They use that so you won’t care about his persecution.
The only thing that matters is that he was thrown in jail for filming outside a trial, after it was over.
exactly. they leave out crucial information but include things that have nothing to do with what happened. I even saw one guy praising the bbc for fair reporting lol,,, it was a blatant hit piece

Wrong, he was convicted of a second offence of contempt of court and the trial was not over. He himself said they were considering the verdict.
They also said very little about his past and did not mention his convictions for violence or the fact that most of his friends were caught in possession of child porn.

Shame.
Mandy Fisher BBC has never had any shame and they will never have any shame. It is just a globalist propaganda machine. 100% BS.
@@AndreAndFriends How is reporting on something propaganda 😂
Shame on you Tommy Robinson
@@pizzahut3149 I agree
@@superbobgaming5440 if he have problems with Muslims he should go to the Muslims and debate them.
The arrogance and hypocrisy of the BBC and its reporters makes me want to puke (all over them).
Think you owe Mr Robinson an apology.

I Know for certain your bosses in the executive room made you do this report. You being a reporter didn't portray any objectivity in your report but loads of bias and lies and fake reports
May God bless Tommy Robinson
But he didn't say that they WERE guilty only allegedly. He was also reading out a article published by the BBC and the police officers nearby allowed him to film. Don't forget he didn't even step onto court grounds.
Saying "allegedly" doesn't protect you from any form of prosecution, you do know that, right?
There is no restriction on filming, the restriction is on reporting i.e PUBLISHING which he did and pleaded guilty to!
Where he did it is irrelevant. Contempt of Court is not limited by location.
Fred Bloggs he read out a BBC article not publish a new one
He approached people entering the court and livestreamed it which is CONTEMPT OF COURT and he pleaded GUILTY.
Fred Bloggs If that's true that's a pretty dumb law. Other countries don't have it and everything is fine. Also yes he pleaded guilty because last time he didn't plead guilty it was a hassle and they didn't stop untill hes in prison. (Also iy costs alot to plead non guilty due)
Other countries do have Contempt of Law. Trying interfering with a trial in your country if you don't think you have a Contempt of Court law.
He pleaded guilty because he was guilty.
The BBC is where real news goes to die.
How is it false?
Such a patriotic hero love and respect from india we will fight social cancer pro muslim secularism
They should have taken him to a mental hospital instead of jail ....lol
Lol🙄....but why????
The mainstream news said the names of those people in the trail the same day. Tommy was forced to use a random solicitor who then forced him to plead guilty!!
Citation needed
He shouldn't of filmed the defendants
B O I how?
The BBC conveniently leave out vital information to fit their agenda. Other reporters were stood with Tommy as the alleged offense happened. Gordon Brown is the cause of this.
They do the same thing when talking about Muslims , this is wherever this whole thing started in the first place...read about Islam from a true source
Two words in response to anything from the BBC: John Sweeney.
Disgusting how people target this man and his family
Not really, he's a violent shill
Disgraceful, biased commentary. Shame on you. Biased Broadcasting Corporation.
Airstrip One george Orwell was a democratic socialist. His work was never ment to be used by conservatives like you.
"...right wing dick." Typical leftist, insult in lieu of debate.
Airstrip One you seem to be the one triggered here. I am just pointing out the facts. The government in 1984 is conservative. Orwell was a democratic socialist. Tommy got what he deserved. I have 2 accounts if you are wondering.
Airstrip One you have not refuted my claim at all.
ZOMBIEBRO 500 and nor will I. I don't engage with those who start with profanity and insult in lieu of debate. I don't respect you enough to give you further time. Have a nice day.
Nice. But :
1. Why not mention the media ban on reporting this particular case, and
2. How his 13 months jail punishment came very swiftly and lawyer wasn't invited to it, and
3. How no media follows up the grooming case
1. Because there is a media ban. Doh!
2. Contempt of Court hearings take place on the day of arrest. Lawyers do not handle Crown Court, that is a Barrister's job.
3. Because of point number 1. that you said yourself!
He pleaded guilty
So here in the States we have something called jury selection, where the jury who decides innocence or guilt is chosen by the attorneys in the case. One of the very first questions they ask a potential juror is whether they have heard any information about the case before. If they have, they are immediately excluded from being on the jury.
We don't muzzle journalists, or private citizens for that matter, from speaking about the trial. I understand we're discussing two different systems of justice, but the British system seems extreme.
He has never been allowed a jury in his life because they know no jury would convict him. They always choose a charge that does not allow a jury to make sure that justice won’t be done.
He actually didn't plead guilty at all, they just charged him and refused him access to his lawyer. Where was his fair trial
Correct me if I'm wrong but the defendants had already convicted and it was only the sentencing stage of the trial that he was reporting on so how in hell is that supposed to affect the trial
bang on
That what I was thinking. If they'd already been convicted then how was his streaming of them going to damage any trial
The reporting ban is in place until the court says so, not Alias Tommy. Furthermore, the ban covered a series of connected trials not yet over. This information is readily available, unless you choose to ignore it in the hope it gets your impertinent point across.
@@1wwc45 If you actually read the trial transcripts which you can astonishingly find in the MSN if you look really hard the Clark of Leeds crown court testified that due to an administration error the reporting restrictions were not published online or displayed on the door of the court on the day of the offence So technically he didn't break a reporting restriction
@@welshjim5512 I did 'actually' read the court reports and read the part where he admitted he knew there were restrictions, whilst actually live streaming. He was not technically innocent because a piece of a4 paper was not fastened to a court door. That is a false assumption on your behalf. If he were technically innocent he would have been found so, obviously.
Give it a rest BBC, we’ve had enough....really, yawn
This is important you probably don’t understand cos you aren’t a Muslim. Have some empathy
This man is disgustingly hateful
The media targeting Muslims among them are Taliban, Islam, Blacks and people of colour.
The blowing of every thing out of proportion for example, practicing Muslims are called terrorists and extremists. On the other hand for other religions the practicing people are called ultra orthodox what a double standards.
Make bad look significant if done by anyone other than Uropean and if Muslim blame their religion as well if not lie to make them look bad.
Muslims and their religion and if a person of uropean origin or their allie is there they are supported and even significant things are shown as insignificant in bad.
However, for good the coverage is opposite the uropean and their allies are given more other are not given or just some seconds.
