Well, yeah. This is a girl who was raised on hate, bias and 'guns solve issues' mentality. When parents teach their children how to hate everyone not exactly like them, this can be the end result. She just thought she was a hero, and her entire upbringing confirmed this. Parents are making little carbon copies of themselves, and making sure their kids dont 'stray' from their crazy.

My heart and prayers go out to the family of the person she killed. It was her fault. She lied. The man she killed DNA was not found on the gun. She made the wrong decision, and it has caused the family of the man she killed, her family, and all those who loved them both great pain. Hannah Payne got life in prison. 30 years is a life term in Georgia. Those who committed serious violent felonies on or after July 1, 2006, must serve 30 years before being eligible for parole. Life in prison is mandatory for murder in Georgia. She got 30 years plus 13 years. That is 43 years. She will be eligible for parole when she is 68 if she does the 13 years after the 30. 30 + 8+ 5 = 43.

Her smugness during the trial is why she's sitting in prison for the rest of her natural life. I was shot by a youngman who believed his children were in danger, his son was being beat up and threatened and was told the other kids dad was coming to shoot his kid. when i pulled through the parking lot, he believed i was the other kids father and pointed the gun at me shooting twice, luckily the 1st one hit the divider between doors it would have been fatal, the second shot went through my trunk both seats and into me. At first i was mad and wanted through the book at him, but then the officers told me the guy admitted to shooting and why he was out with a weapon, the detective said he even took him to the gun. Yes he did something stupid, something my wife regularly reminds me could have ended my life, but it didn't and there's no telling what could have happened to someone's kid had he made it to the fight, but instead he hit me and i live (with a bullet in my back side) when it came time for trial i requested he recieve a felony to take away his gun rights but be given time served with community monitoring for the remainder of his 7yr suspended sentence. The prosecution (despite wanting to go full trial) agreed to the recommendation and the judge approved of the request. I didn't do it because i the man understood his mistake, he owned it and was willing to take the consequences. Sometimes you have to be accountable to the degree of detriment. 😢

So glad you are alive after that and you did a very gracious thing for that man. Had Hannah realized she was completely in the wrong and gave an actual apology, her case may have ended up different. But she had absolutely no insight into how wrong she was instead BLAMING Kenneth for his death. I can’t imagine how hard it’s been for his family to have to had listened to her lies and justifications. She is paying for it now. She practically does have a life sentence because all of her good years will be gone. She took away Kenneth’s future with his family and grandchildren and caused so much pain to his family and they by no means have to forgive her, but if she actually apologized it may have been different for her

The dispatcher asked if she got the tag number…they didn’t tell her to chase him down to get it. There was already a cop there, right? Even if he wasn’t, SOMEBODY got him on video. You can’t go anywhere and not be on camera anymore. The simple words “no, I didn’t get the tag and he just left”…could have saved everyone the heartache. She got her CCP a few days before and thought it made her robocop. She should have let it go and just have been a witness and told what she saw. The end.
