Hey guys I don’t usually comment. Fab Rats is a family orientated channel but without Michelle in the mix more often it doesn’t quite cut it for me. Michelle is a big part of the operation and needs more exposure. Those that are dislikers of her inclusion should keep their nasty negativity to themselves and appreciate the love the family connection brings us and to the shop. For me that’s what makes the Fab Rat Channel family and the love the family has working on projects together even if they’re just side line supporters.
You have a great crew there. Shawn and your boys are all you need. Love how Shawn stays so calm admits what he knows and doesn't. And your son's have came so far. You should be a proud Dad.
there is absolutely no way slinging camera in an environment like this, with mentors like Paul and Shawn and not something awaken deep down to not get involved@@Dlutheran
I think you are correct Michelle it's going to beautiful and totally awesome Paul will be jealous especially if you let robby Layton put some of his touch on it happy for you
I was just going to suggest an impact driver but should have known you've got at least one. Everyone that works on stuff should have one! I gave one to my son in law for his birthday an he looked at me like "so?" LOL. I said "some day you'll thank me for it!"
PAUL I THINK YOU AND SEAN DID AMAZING AND HUNTER ALSO HELPED,YOU GUYS GOT THIS YOU ARE CAR BUILDERS,I'VE SEEN YOU GUYS BUILD A LOT OFFF RACE MACHINES,AND YOU HAVE THE TOOLS AND KNOWLEDGE TO MAKE THIS THIING BEAUTIFUL....
Everyone - Excellent job! Great editing and Michell, you need to be in each and every video. Hunter _ Great work! Shaun _ you are an OUTSTANDING part of the crew!
Holy cow, that was actually my post on Facebook, she picked, she did actually comment that she loved it, that makes me feel amazing, Michelle go for it I knew the color was probably wrong but thanks for commenting on my post!! My Original Post to the Fab Rats Official Fan Page was on Dec 11th 2023 if yall wanna see the pic better
Almost looks like a complete rebuild from scratch. It is gonna be super awesome! Shawn, it's ok to admit when you don't know how to do something, but don't doubt yourself! Looked like you handled it all quite nicely. Hunter.....gonna make a fabricator out of you yet 😀 You guys both did awesome while Paul and Michelle where out getting the final piece. G'ma Lolly....love your straight forward no BS comments. Excited to follow along on this build and seeing what it turns into. Thank you for sharing
Excellent Project. I did a '69 Commando 15 or so years ago. Viper Red w/ white top/trim. That odd fire v6 will run when built, some other Jeepster guy may want yours. With your frame swap you can avoid sooooo many problems with that 1930's design.
I'm strugglin' with a man cold right now too. The struggle is real, Paul! I don't know if you saw my comment in the previous vid, but my friend and I are located in SLC. We build transmissions. Hit me up!!
That's going to be a NICE Jeepster when it's done! I bet Michelle is happy to see some progress being made. I'm looking forward to seeing how you fit the body and frame together! A couple small things I might have done differently... Rather than bolting them in, I would have welded the door braces inside of the door openings, so the doors could be temporarily bolted back on for test fittings. I also think it' a good idea to spray some weld-through primer on areas that will be inaccessible later, like inside surfaces of rocker panels. Metal left bare in there will begin to rust again fairly quickly, especially around the welds. But, hey, I'm just armchair quarterbacking here. 😅
Great job guys it’s a lot of work! We are in the middle of our jeepster project as well. With a rust repair and JKU frame swap (shortened) and 5.3 LS with 4L80…..IT IS A PROJECT!
You all have picked quite a project!! I like the picture Michelle showed. Paul your choice of going with the Rubicon chassis is perfect. This will definitely save a lot of time. Good luck!!
That looked like allot of fun. Rust and dirt flying everywhere, while old oils burn and add flavor to the smoke... I really like the picture Michelle showed. That's a tough looking Jeepster while having classy touches. The rest of the family can grab sandpaper and dustmasks and rough down the paint on what's left of panels. That would be a mighty big help and kindness.
Use self tapping screws to get it all in place instead of trying to tack everything. Then pull the screws as you weld. Helps to get is all aligned (and back apart as needed). Good luck - on the build!
Here is a suggestion. On rusted Phillips heads . Air chisel with Phillips head with handle to turn while using chisel same time will brake a lot lose. I used this system to take my 65 scout apart. Saved me a lot of time.
Ok, I am telling you about the look. I think the picture was saaaaawweeeet!!!!!! The stance and even the colors were great and I am not a fan of gray. Michelle, that one was for you. You chose well young lady. So I want to see you pat yourself on the back, you did well.
Awesome work! Looking forward to seeing the progress on the Jeepster! I would recommend using steel it or primer on the bare metal and seam sealer where the pieces come together for longevity.
I always enjoy fabrication because in my opinion that makes a vehicle your own when you can design and build it the way you want instead of buying one already built I am really enjoying this build series I know the Jeepster will be amazing when you get it finished
Ok, Michelle and Paul( I apologize if I have spelled your name wrong) Hear me out…..the ladies need a Fab Rat Shirt dedicated to the Jeepster build. Just tweak the Fab Rat logo and add a bow or something to make the hat look more girly. Then add lace to the welding shirt or make it pink or Michelle’s favorite color. Michelle’s Fab Jeepster build would be the best! I mean you need to go all in on this Paul! Michelle deserves her own special build shirt to commemorate. Let’s face it some of us only watch it for the shenanigans that Michelle and Grandma Lolly get to put up with ❤😀Love the show!!
Whilst i had that apart, i would have pressure washed all the dirt etc. out and applied a weld through primer to slow the corrosion process cuz it ain't going away anytime soon. Have you thought of naming that thing "Tetanus" or Impetigo?. Lots of work, glad you guys ain't a feared of a challenge. 😁
I am so excited for you Michelle i cant wait. Did i miss the picture or did i misunderstand when i though u said a viewer sent in a photo and u really loved all about it but the color? Did i miss u showing it. U want to see so bad lol i hope Robby us painting it. I love u all u cant say anything bad and your kids are growing up before our eyes they are all doing good things. Glad Gma was on episode also i miss her and Michelle when not on. PS Michelle your hair looks so good i love it ❤❤❤❤
I definitely think the Jeepster should be modeled after the picture. That thing is awesome. You will definitely turn some heads with it. I love the fact your channel hasn’t gotten corny are scripted like some of the others. Love the channel
As we would say back in the cave man days last century.......What a Great Wife and partner in crime Paul has in Michelle. Best relationship on the tubes.
Had all those issues with my vw bus. Body panels were swish cheese, floors were gone, tree messed up the roof. Keep the whole family ibn the videos. Pretty classy that way.👍👍
I like the concept Jeepster photo but it appears to have a CJ front clip. Even though I love CJs (I've owned 3 of them), the Jeepster needs a Jeepster front clip. It's what sets it apart.
Great to see how your boys get involved with the shop work. Also i truly appreciate that you make not bought attitude for your buids. Keep on keeping on
Paul it’s good to see you guys doing some real rust repair it’s not fun but it’s necessary for all of us who like our old vehicles keep up the good work
You guys work with so many people I grew up around it’s crazy. I grew up working on hot rods with my grandpa who live right down the road from Chad. Then I watch this video and you guys bought this frame for the jeepster from my next door neighbor Lehi.
awesome work guys!! can't wait to see the jeepster done. some friendly pointers use weld thru primer or etch primer on parts that you can't get to later, That way you can minimize rust in the future, and those crossbeams under the floor if you plugweld them to the floor then it’s gonna be more stable. keep up the good work🤘🤘
Let me start off by saying I love you guys. I still don't understand why you're not going to the wrecker games. Hope everything is all good with you and the crew❤
The reason they're not is because they don't want other people running their vehicles and trashing them. I don't blame them. There's an event where you swap with one of the "off-road newbies". I wouldn't want other inexperienced people to run my stuff either. Makes complete sense.
As another commenter has said, "I sense a disturbance in the force". I hope there is no strain on Paul's and Matt's friendship. I agree with Paul's stance of not wanting a newb driving his rig.
The old Impact Driver, the motorcyclist's best friend!! WAY TO GO, Hunter driving the ArcDroid!!!! Sean is right, he's much more than a cameraman, give the boy a raise! So what's Robby Latron got that we ain't got, eh??
I had a JEEPSTER back in the 70s. It would go anywhere I wanted. Then a guy ran a STOP SIGN and it was Totaled ! Can wait to see this done. TAKE CARE and STAY WELL
It is so frustrating to watch your videos and see you in my neck of the woods knowing that I haven't run into you yet! I love your channel and everyone on it!
Yes, I love the jeep that they showed you 👍paint yours teal blue. You all did a great job in this video we love watching we love you Michelle no matter what anyone says and grandma lolly love her too 😊 We are watching from Grove city Ohio
Sat in my truck watchin’ Fab Rats… seeing all the cutting and welding has made me think about what I want to do in my van…. Need to convert some shelving into a work bench of sorts.. and a few other things.. inspirational stuff…
One of the things I like best about this channel is the positive nature and the reality that people that work on cars and trucks every day are always doing something new, remember that the next time you take your thing to a mechanic that many of the things that they do they are just learning they just know how to learn.
Warms my heart to see the body being braced before chopping the floor out. I’ve seen a couple other RUclips builds where things were chopped before bracing and I can’t imagine how hard it will be to make those things straight. The Jeepster should stay pretty square. Nice work. I little weld through primer would have been a good idea, but it will last a long time!
When we open the box and the instructions said some assembly required. Everything was going good all that was left was the work . So here we go , we will have her done in no time. Awesome job thanks for sharing.
Take 2 pieces of plywood. Cut groves in a pattern. Sandwich your floorpan between the 2 pieces of wood. Then put roundstock in the grooves and hit or press the roundstock. It will make really nice supportive bends on the sheetmetal
Sure did enjoy getting to see Michelle! Would love to see her more often. I don’t care what the haters say. She is.Mrs Fab Rats absolutely adore grandma Lali love her personality. She reminds me a lot of myself. Except that I am old I’ll be 75 in March. But I’ve always worked around. Cars are used to drive a tow truck. Before that I ran the farm and work the horses. I am about 5 foot tall so needless to say because of my my jobs and my work ethics I have artificial joint in my back is full of hardware, but I am so blessed. I have thoroughly enjoyed watching all of your videos I’ve been a member for for several years now the kids has really grown. Love and hugs. YOU ALL MATTER!!🙌❤️🤗🤗🙏🙏😊
Liking the content. Just wanted to pipe in and say the backside of all them panels should get treated with a weld threw primer before going together. When you stack panels together, there's not really a sure way to paint or coat them surfaces. So, doing so before will save the rust from forming once it finds its way into them cavities.
In 1983, I built a 66 Jeep Commando in prep for transferring to Keflavik, Iceland with the Navy. Rebuilt the V6, 3 speed, suspension, brakes ma,ing ready to play in Iceland. Paint, interior, heating and defrost upgrades and away we went. 5 day trip across country, arrived Norfolk, VA. New 33's, one final once over and turned it into Navy shjpping for container shipping, 14day trip to next duty station. I anxiously awaited the anticipated arrival! Three days before delivery day, received msg stating 12 containers fell 9ff the ship south of Halifax, including my Jeep! Long story short, it was gone! Devastated me!!! Navy paid off $5k. Went looking to replace, found a 72 Blazer in Iceland. It was not the same as the Jeepster, but gave us the ability to offer road with the local friends we made. Have been highly anticipating your build of Michell's rig.
GMA Lolly is a Matriarch that when she speaks, you listen! The jeepster is going to be something else, a hybrid of jeeps to be reckoned with! Michelle's vision of what she wants is long overdue, and happy for her it's happening! This is going to be a fun one to watch! Catch you on the next. ✌️ 😊
"Well, you can't make it worse."
Seriously, we need t-shirts with granma Lolly's best one-liners! 😂😁🤟
I second this.
I Third This!
Fourth
I also agree so that makes least 5 of us who would like to see this happen.. Well least 5 of us willing to comment about it. Lol
Everyone who supports the motion has to buy at least one of each style made. All sales final.......
Grandma Lolly there with the words of encouragement “well, you can’t make it worse” 😂 you all are awesome!
Hey guys I don’t usually comment. Fab Rats is a family orientated channel but without Michelle in the mix more often it doesn’t quite cut it for me. Lets not leave Ol Hunter out lol

Thanks for sharing 🇨🇦
I think Michelle deserves a Robby Layton paint job!!! A perfect paint job for a perfect FabRats build!!!❤
Gma Lolly is a gangsta! She just doesnt care!! Lol...hilarious!!
Like my mother would say I'm at that age to where I can do and say anything
I ain't messing with her , she the most gangsta rat outta the pack . I'm on her side .
Impressed by Shaun's leadership skills! Well done!
RIP Carl Weathers !!! The Jeepster is coming along nicely !!!
Michelle I sure enjoy you coming down to the shop. You are a vital part in the Fab Rats Team and i like you being there
Me to
I think you are correct Michelle it's going to beautiful and totally awesome Paul will be jealous especially if you let robby Layton put some of his touch on it happy for you
Haters will always hate, we love families and the family dynamics. Mommas and wives are always a beautiful part of these videos...
The picture of the Jeepster that was sent to you is perfect.
That was actually a post I made on a Facebook Fab Rats Fan Page, I was trying to combine a Vision to please Paul and Michelle's Tastes
That Jeepster fan pic looks awesome! Especially with a removable hard top!!
The things men do for their Wife's! Good job Paul. Keep her safe on the road. Good luck and may God bless you and your family. 🎉🙏 😊
Sorry to be that guy... Plural wife's is spelt wives, In English literature anyway. It also bothers me when Paul says acrost for across.🤐
Grandma: “Paul’s gone…..Party!!!!!”
Lololol
Did Hunter pull out his own knife to open those boxes? He’s growing up. Haha
Wow !! He did . Soo proud of him .
3rd punch on his Mancard ;)
And he even flicked it open like a ninja 🥷

I love your dream jeepster, anxious to see the color Michele picks & to hear her howl when she drives it for the first time!
Sean comes across as a real easy guy to get along with.

It's really great to see these young men becoming a real asset,They have come a long way in a short amount of time.
Awesome work guys. It's going to be amazing when you're done. I hope Michelle gets the mud-bug and takes it out wheelin' when it's done.
One of my favorite channels. Thanks for being real.

Makes me happy to wear the same shirt as Paul is. I feel like these guys are part of my family also.
HEY! Good morning and thumbs UP to Fab Rats!👍
I've been meaninbg to say this for a while but Sean is a really strong addition to the team.

Going to be an awsome ride
Excellent Project. I did a '69 Commando 15 or so years ago. Viper Red w/ white top/trim.
That odd fire v6 will run when built, some other Jeepster guy may want yours.
With your frame swap you can avoid sooooo many problems with that 1930's design.
I love this channel, because it gives me confidence to take on projects like these in my own garage.
I'm strugglin' with a man cold right now too. The struggle is real, Paul! I don't know if you saw my comment in the previous vid, but my friend and I are located in SLC. We build transmissions. Hit me up!!
Hunter for the win with the arc drone. NICE
Love when Michelle visits the shop. Love to see her "Helping". What a champ.

The rest of the family can grab sandpaper and dustmasks and rough down the paint on what's left of panels. That would be a mighty big help and kindness.
A little tip from your buddy in Oregon. With a bit of heat on the panel with bondo, you soften it and just scrape it off with a putty knife.
YESSSSS MORE JEEPSTER! LOVE IT!! Thanks Fab Rats! Have a great week!
Michael thinks she's getting new paint on the jeepster. Nothing gets new paint other than radel can paint. Love the progress.
Just finished watching robbie layton and a fab rats vid lands 20secs after watching that, what a sunday it is :D
Happens every Wenesday Friday and sunday
Use self tapping screws to get it all in place instead of trying to tack everything. Then pull the screws as you weld.
Helps to get is all aligned (and back apart as needed).
Good luck - on the build!
I like the way you guys work together have fun and get the job done. Very entertaining to watch. Thanks so much for the content.
Hell yeah!! That was an awesome picture of a jeepster!
Here is a suggestion. On rusted Phillips heads . Air chisel with Phillips head with handle to turn while using chisel same time will brake a lot lose. I used this system to take my 65 scout apart. Saved me a lot of time.
Or clean the paint off the screw head, and weld a 1/2" nut on each one.
It's not like the screw will get used again.
Ok, I am telling you about the look. I think the picture was saaaaawweeeet!!!!!!
The stance and even the colors were great and I am not a fan of gray. Michelle, that one was for you. You chose well young lady. So I want to see you pat yourself on the back, you did well.

Look at Hunter snapping that knife open like a MAN!😁
Seeing what y’all have built over the years, I know this build is going to be badass.
Yay, more Michelle stuff

I anxiously awaited the anticipated arrival! Three days before delivery day, received msg stating 12 containers fell 9ff the ship south of Halifax, including my Jeep! Long story short, it was gone!
Devastated me!!!
Navy paid off $5k. Went looking to replace, found a 72 Blazer in Iceland. It was not the same as the Jeepster, but gave us the ability to offer road with the local friends we made.
Have been highly anticipating your build of Michell's rig.
Lord, bless Paul and heal his body. Make him well to get his responsibilities taken care of! Amen
Nice work Shawn. Your a very calm fella when the kids are trying too push you around!
