I grew up in the 60's and my dad was into heavy customization of cars ,watching you brings me back to the good old days of helping him .Oh how I miss him .I've been doing bodywork for 50 years and still learning every time I watch your video's. Thank you for teaching everyone. Your a master.
Not being a welder, I have watched and wondered about the trigger on the welder and whether there was a separate feed and spark trigger. Watching the maintence was very interesting
Glad two of you had three weeks of energizing your spirits.missed you honestly , guess I’m addicted to love lol.love of the show and you two celestials .
There's an elegant economy about all of this which I really love. It's evident in the way Ian sizes up a problem and employs some simple move to achieve just the right result, also in the repartee and in Jaimie's filming and editing. By it's very nature it's understated, but I always notice and admire it. I'm sure everyone does. A rare and wonderful thing.
I like watching your work, it's an inspiration. I thought I was the only one who glued pieces together, 😁the most important thing is the end and satisfaction. Best regards
its different thats for sure . you know what it needs ? victor to come in and change his mind a few times . lol . i miss victor he's one wild dude . if he's in so Cal i hope he is ok with everything going on . i seen a video i think it was the news some one lost a whole custom car collection . i was just really sad the cars were destroyed . each year we get fewer and fewer classics left . any way glad your ok and i sure hope victor is ok .
LOL agreed. We hope to get his caddy to him very soon. We are working hard and Ian is in the shop everyday even though we don't post everyday. We are excited to see what 2025 brings. And yes, it is soooo sad when collections are lost. Look up Funky Junk Farm on insta or FB. Johnny and Yipsy lost an INCREDIBLE collection along with their home. So so so SAD.
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I enjoy your channel! I look forward to every video! I’m actually thinking of making the doors on my f350 open upward!
Wow, when Ian said bender I didn't know he was going to bring out the gardner EMT (electric metallic tubing) bender that's a nice steel one built to last, a lot of people claim they can't bend with that and prefer to use a Star bender, (the only difference is the handle position ) pipe goes by outside diameter and tubing goes by inside, that's why all the dies are different except that one can be used for both 1" emt or 3/4" rigid , yeah i've bent a few things , the show, it's about you, have a nice Cadillac.
Just want to say hi to you all and hope you are having bless day and Ian keep up the good work. I'm learning alot by watching you. God bless and have a blessed evening and night
どこの国でも、夢をかなえるにはすてきな奥さんの理解と協力が必要ですね。貴方はラッキーマンですね。No matter where you are in the world, you need the understanding and cooperation of a wonderful wife to make your dreams come true. You're a lucky guy. from Japan.
The fabrication, filming and edits of your projects are so inspiring. Give millions of novices motivation and guidance for trying to achieve in their own projects. Again, it’s the positivity, humor of not taking yourselves too seriously that keeps me coming back. Love your work Ian and Jamie! True craftsmanship.
I think it is a great choice using heavy metal music while welding that future awesomeness of a Caddy. I can't wait untill I see some paint on the even better Zephyr. The Zephyr is by far my favorite car. The 1937 was the best version, I love the art deco streamlined design.
I thinks it's magical that you can work on one part of the car and, WEEKS later, come back and replicate the other side so easy. Also, when I used to replace panels on repairs, before I patched in the replacement panel, I would clean out all the rust and then use POR 15. It's a great sealant and prevents moisture from seeping in.
Cavity wax aka Waxoyl. I use it on all of our restorations. Rust inhibiting liquid wax that dries and seals inner cavities and panels and prevents rust swelling.
I love my "Scrap Bucket"! It sounds so much better than "Hoarder Pile" (which is what my wife calls it.) But it does come in handy when you need that one piece to finish the project.
I miss the old little work shed on your property! She looks super low Ian. Looking forward to seeing her when it's finished. You are inspiring me to get an old car and do a chop job.
Hi Ian, You reminded me that in Australia cars built by GM , known here as General Motors Holden, and Ford had no paint treatment at all on the inside of panels so whilst garaged cars survived well cars parked in the street would start to rust in a few years. At motor shows back then there were companies selling rust proofing systems that consisted of drilling small holes in door sills, etc and spraying in a fish oil emulsion. This was before I realised that the insides of sills and under fenders and the dark areas inside doors were unpainted so it seemed like a strange product. Once you realised these areas were untreated it was obvious anything would help slow the rusting. Cheers Peter from downunder.
Open and praying that you guys are okay with all the fires that are going on in california. As I don't know your location so all I can do is ask if you guys are okay.

Roughing the door made the rear fender pop, looking good.
Hey from snowy northwest Missouri!
Hello! Stay warm
Asymmetrical customs were reasonably common in the 60s. There should be more.
Right?! Look at some of Roth's crazy and lovely creations. Good stuff.
