Line-x should be your next mod. Must have for a truck
He did his own brush/roll on liner on his other truck. Surprised he hasn't done it on this one yet.
He just needs to come to AZ and I'll take care of it.
I laughed really hard when you were yelling pivot! Good 'ole Friends!
Picking up my 24’ 6.2 Lt trail boss on the 15th. Following you for a while. Looking forward to mods and more videos from you in the future!
Thanks for the video. I have an 09 Silverado with a solid one piece Undercover brand bed cover. Someone cumbersome to remove, but I love it. I keep a couple tool boxes in the bed fulltime and dont worry about them.
$20 grand in mods and no bed liner bro?? I definitely liked the "HERE WE GO"!!😂😂
next mod, carpet bedliner..lol
That’s a great looking bed cover I like all the additional features of the programmed interface.
Awesome way to start the morning one of your videos!
🤙🏽🤙🏽
I love how after 3 years you are still modifying and making good content. A lot of other channels find it easier and necessary to keep switching vehicles and build them the same way of the one they just got rid of! Your channel is both informative and interesting keep it up!
Very cool mod. I'm not a big fan of bed covers personally but that one is dang nice!
Keyless entry. Awesome.
Very, very nice bed cover, also very expensive! Looking forward to the sheeting of the shop!
I'm working on getting my foam for my floor installed, waiting for the weather to get nice to pour some concrete! Take care and don't work too hard bud!!
HERE WE GO! Some Dak Prescott vibes just made this video even better! Proud Kanaka Moali mixed with Texan here 🤙🏾
Man, that's an awesome bed cover!
AWESOME JOB MAN.
I’m very interested to see how the new bedsides fit with the bed cover. I also want to do both eventually. Keep up the content!
You could try the drain holes that are in the bed sides. That way the hoses are out of the way too. Really short run from where they come out of the box. I use those on my quad fold hard top. Like 6-8 inches of hose is all you need.
My favorite tonnaue cover is hard quad fold
@Lone_Star_Hawaiian-te.xt_me I’m live in SA TX. Maybe we can meet up and talk about trucks one day
I love this tonneaux cover but would not work in Canada with the ice. I had the revolver on my Colorado and could not open all winter. The try fold on the gmc at4 works all the time. Love it as I can shovel it off, fold it and not worry about surface cracking. Love the channel.
I'm in Michigan and had several inches of snow hard frozen on it and was able to open my manual version just fine.
I almost went with Retrax, but I went to a local shop now I’m wishing I would have went with my first Decision. That’s awesome
I went with the Gator FX4 because it can fold up all the way out of the way. While these power folds are cool...there's no way around losing box space. And with a short bed already, I need all the space I can get.
I love your videos. I've been watching the Trail Boss for years, and actually bought one of my own because of what i've seen here. I think now that you have the experience of working with this engine, you should get a 2500 Zr2 and make a masterpiece. You won't have to guess and check anymore and you can make a beast!
I cannot wait for you to super charge your engine. This video has me leaning towards the Retrax electric bed cover. Great video, as always.

Me every time I start a project in my garage!!
When I purchased my new truck a month ago, I was torn between the hard trifold and power retractable tonneau covers. I ultimately went went the trifold because it can be easily removed if I ever need the extra bed space that the retractable takes up! Both are nice covers though!
The gentex truck is a beauty … I’ll having with it this weekend
I think the Bakflip has a cleaner look, and don't have to worry about mechanical failure.
4th NEED. Line-X 😏 Great video!
Hey Chad I've been following you for the last few years now and love all the videos you make, just wanted to suggest this to you if you do ever decide to change your exhaust on your 2020 Silverado, I have a Corsa pro series exhaust system on my 2020 Silverado lt with the 5.3 and it's by far the best exhaust system I've ever had, just wanted to throw that out there, keep making the great videos my friend!!!
Compared to my "Undercover" Elite LX Tonneau Cover with LED Light, Painted to match the Color of my Truck. The Weight, Ability to completely keep Water out and then the Price, is great. If I want to carry something like a Motorcycle or Large items, this Tonneau will slide off with the twist of Two screws on the inside. The Tonneau also helps with improved Gas mileage because of wind resistance in the bed. I watched your video of the EGR Rolltrax EQ and liked the unit, but not thrilled with the water leakage and of course "The Price". Good luck to both of us on our choices.
That is fukin sick that its on a button! So neat
I think that you will like the roll top better than the folding cover. I’ve had almost all of the styles through the years from toppers to vinyl roll ups. In my opinion the absolute worst was the tri fold. Definitely the most water resistant but the most awkward to use. There is a seal that goes between the bed and tailgate that keeps the water from being drawn up underneath the tailgate do to the air pressure. Well worth the money. I have had the best experience with just the basic Rollnlock. Expensive yes. But seems the most secure. I would like to see one of these videos on which one is the hardest to get into. Obviously the vinyl isn’t going to be on the list. You will really enjoy a Bed Rug sure saves the knees. And there are ladders that mount to the tailgate and unfold off the end. For less than $70. That makes getting into the bed so much easier. Sounds silly I know. But I’m 68. And have learned the body doesn’t last at the joints very long.
Great video bro. That’s crazy expensive for a bed cover though. Still getting a rattle with my AWE OFG exhaust on my ‘21 trail boss.
Lay dominator bed liner has a real great shine and doesn’t look so rough
Retrax looks good, I install a lot of those and they are very nice. If you want to improve that bed a little more next time you are in Phoenix AZ come by and I'll do a spray in liner for you.
Congratulations on the free bedcover but the tri fold is the choice.
My favorite comment to my wife when she's helping me; EASY, lol. Glad to see I'm not alone.
Cool tonneau cover, but it's all fun and games when things go sideways post warranty. I stuck with the BAK Revolver covers, and so far so good.
Very Nice, but when will you be putting in some type of bed liner? But awesome job on all the mods.
Paragon tops are the best!
Unrelated to the video but I noticed your truck has the junk Rancho shocks. I switched my rear shocks over to the Bilstein 5100’s after seeing my stock rears were blown out already. Feels like a completely different truck. The rear feels less “washy” and can actually put some power down.
The laughing probably made it harder 😂
It still boggles my mind why other car manufacturers won't use a keyless entry pad like all Ford vehicles have been using for decades. It's such a simple design and it's super convenient. As you have noticed yourself with getting one of these keypads yourself.
My Ford truck (xl high trim for work only) is brand spanking new and has a physical key no TouchPad entry, so not all have it. Can use my phone, which is slow, but I still need the physical key for the ignition.
Its dumb. Thats why no one else has done it. Lol
Those were also a lot of the vehicles being stolen around the Atlanta, Ga area a while back…
Ford patented that design!
@@CollinZ71 That makes a lot of sense, thank you. Unlike random people just saying "It's dumb".
That's cool although it takes up a lot of bed room at the front..... I'm also shocked you don't have a spray in bed liner
Man I wish they'd make me an exhaust for my 2023 2500HD 6.6! 😢 And I did the AMP 3" extended version for mine and im so happy. With a 5" lift on the 2500 it was needed!
I had a retrax on my work truck but it eats up that bed space at the front of the bed. I like my trifold because it can be easily removed when I need to use the full length bed space.
I got the new zr2 silverado. It's a awesome truck
Hopefully a roots style blower coming.
Need a bed liner like your og truck
Bring on the long travel kit!! 😎
I had an XT encore on my 12 Silverado and loved it. Not 100% watertight but the functionality was great. On my 2019 new body style Silverado I have the Retracts cover that you’re putting on, mine was just not automatic. It leaked like an absolute sieve. They replaced the cover and it continued to leak. I’ll be really curious to see what luck you have with yours. I currently have it for sale and went with a camper shell.
Are you planning to replace the stereo deck with one of those large size screen types? Be nice to see some mods done in the interior. I don't know if you a fan but I never seen anyone add memory seats. Like the factory ones.
I have a RetraxPro MX cover I bought before I even had my truck. The truck was on order and I knew I wanted this cover for it. I didn't want the fancy electric stuff for more money or to go wrong, but this new version is neat. They made the canister smaller since you said you have 13" of space between the bottom and the bed floor. Mine is 11" of space. They also changed the drain tubes to be corrogated tube instead of clear vinyl tube. I had to find smaller diameter tube to fit through the floor holes since I wasn't about to drill new holes in my brand new truck! You should get some stake pocket covers, unless you actually use those. The jump up onto the tailgate had me laughing. I got the Multi-Flex tailgate on my 2021 when it was first offered as a 1/2 year introduction. I had a lifted Avalanche and it was a pain in the butt to hop up on the tailgate then climb into the bed!
How much bed space does rhe canister taken up, length wise? A 5.5' bed becomes 4.5'?
@@ryansheard8092 I just measured and it's about 13". It sits right tight against the bulkhead of the bed and measuring the canister and where the cover stops is 13". You still have full bed access below it. I have 11" from the bottom of the canister to the bed floor's highest point on the ridges.
@FastSS02 thank you for taking the time to measure that.
#4 bed sprayed!!
I miss my 1500. Its been in the shop for almost a month waiting on a new door. Had a minor wreck that tore up the step side, fender flair, bent the rocker, and mashed up the rear door. Apparently chevy parts are unobtanium right now.
I put a bed liner in first before the retrax.
Those taillights are awesome! Who makes them???
I still need a bed cover. I’ve resorted to covering my gear in the bed with plastic bags. One day!!!😂😂😂
Should get the “Decked System” tool box since you put a bed cover and can’t put a saddle tool box.
Nice change out, got a few of your mods on my 19 Silverado; pulsar LT, lasfit tail lights, gorhino light bar, air intake, catch can...well i'm spending a lot thanks to you....though my latest upgrade was a 23 Camaro :) on that new cover hows is the seal against rain getting in the bed? Is there a seal where the cover meets the tailgate?
Hey sir - just ran across your vids - well done for sure - AND I JUST bought a 24 trail boss - so how tall is your gorgeous pickup? My garage barely fits my truck so lifting may not be in the cards but love the look of yours…Uber curious…again - very well done videos - love the instruction. - thank you!
You need a video on painting the bed a scuff resistant material so you don’t keep scratching it. 😉
That is the most quiet electric bed cover I have heard.
You should watch dons life. He got a pre production part for the bed cover. You can add a roll over sport bar!
His is an EGR brand, not Retrax
@@FastSS02 ah gotcha 👍🏼
Need a video getting rid of those ranches. 😊
What doubld pipe tips fo you recomend? I saw your truck exhaust tips and i like that style
What are you running for exhaust in this video. I know I’ve watched you swap it out. It sound good.
You need a Bed Rug now!
Great video. Love your stuff. however this takes up room when trying to transport a lot of materials or furniture. Love my leer trifold. very cool otherwise
I'll take the old bed cover if you are not doing anything with it. I have the same 2020 model. I'm local to you.
🤙🏽 might be installing it on my in-laws truck but will let y’all know
We should meet and compare your Silverado to my F150. Both similar build and a lot of our parts are from he same company.
Hey, I’ve been following your channel for over a year now and I’ve watched every single of your videos thus far due to the fact that I also have a 2019 Trailboss. It’s nice to see that maybe you haven’t encountered all the problems I’ve had so far which I’ll start by pointing out that my transmission has given up by 38,000 miles. Right after getting a new transmission, my oil pan needed to be replaced around 44,000 miles. Now, at around 51,000 miles my radiator is completely leaking which needs to be replaced. It’s honestly been a nightmare. Do you think it’s worth keeping the truck cause I am so close to just trading this for an f-150.
Would be cool to have something like this, too bad its 3 grand. I understand all the thought and engineering involved in making something like this. Just wish it was affordable haha. You want nice things, you have to pay for it haha!
These covers are so cool. Im just having a hard time justifying it over the hard folding like you had. On a side note your wife wouldn't have had so much trouble if she would have put her Crocs in sport mode.
Was that Water coming from your Hood latch on the Passenger side when opening the hood?
Hey I'm local to you, I'll take the aluminum one if you're wanting to get rid of it. Lol
Where did you get the exhaust tips
What hood is that and does that scoop go into the engine or is it just for looks?
Is it possible to get just the exhaust tips you have on your Trail Boss if I have the stock exhaust? Thanks
How is the cab drone on that Borla exhaust??
Do it open as your driving too?
You've almost got me convinced. I've never put a cover on my trucks and I love having the open bed. But maybe this one is worth a shot. Does the roll up box take away too much bed length though?
Unless you’re stacking 20 sheets of OSB I can’t see the canister really getting in the way. The tri fold doesn’t take any room from the bed and is also a great option
@@LonestarHawaiian Nice. I'll take another look at adding one... after I finish some backyard projects that have scoops of dirt and gravel dropped in the bed a few times this summer.
@@LonestarHawaiian Next question, how long until this channel can get you out of the marketing job so you can provide more content? I love your videos and inspiration for projects. ;)
What tire and wheel size are you running in this video?
If that trifold cover wasn’t waterproof I would have taken that pos back and got my money back. Thing probably cost 1k. If it’s doesn’t keep water out what good is it. That’s one of the main reasons for having one
ALL this work to this beautiful truck and no bedliner ?
Brother. You seriously need a spay-in-bed liner.. That would make for a good video
Why haven't you added a spray on bed liner?
A lot of people put that keycode fob in the gas tank door. keeps it totally hidden.
That's what I was thinking would be a great place to hide it.
What are you going to do with the Tri-Fold bed cover? Is it for sale?
I purchased the retrax EQ so I can use the app and truck key fob to operate the bed cover. One thing they don’t tell you is app will not work if your truck has automatic side steps, doesn’t matter if they are factory installed or aftermarket. If Retrax would have advertised the bed cover this way I would not have purchased this bed cover. I would have went with the cheaper version. Called retrax and waiting to hear back from them. Will update once issue has been resolved.
I have automatic steps on my truck. It works just fine on the app and key fob 🤷♂️
How did you get it to pair? RETRAX customer service is saying steps signal interferes with the pairing signal.
The link for the trifold is a gator bed cover, I was pretty sure it was a rough country one in the previous video. Sponsored videos make you link to other products?
Exact same bedcover, just different brand on the sticker. RealTruck is a better one-stop-shop for everything.
Prefer my Diamondbacks bed cover over any others on the market. Cant beat the load weight and durability
Would love to buy your old tonneau
I would put the wireless pad inside the fuel door if it would fit.
Genius
Which exhaust ended up being your" all time favorite?"
AWE Tuning 0FG exhaust 💯
as much as I like AMP steps, I just can't do it, I wheel my ZR2 way too hard, I beat the hell out of my rocksliders, but they've held up well where I know I'd have broken the AMPs by now
You should put a BedRug into the bed, they are great
You need a bedliner
It would be legendary if you would customize my 2022 Silverado lt trail boss
Why the heck don’t you have spray in bed liners on either truck?
07 Silverado has. 2020 I never got around to it.
What brand is the trifold bed cover
