My 2005 duramax was stolen about a year ago and I’ve lost all hope of getting her back. I drove her all across the US and never left me stranded. I’m heartbroken. Such great trucks.
Brother, I’m so sorry to hear that! I have a 2005 Duramax diesel crew cab white with a ranch hard cover. I drove mine all over South Dakota Wyoming North Dakota and Colorado. She has never let me down. The only way you can beat this “bidennomics” BS is to keep what you got. I also have a 2004 Sierra crew cab which is an everyday driver. I’m old so I won’t be buying a new one. I hope the police find your truck but a lot of them go down south of the border.
I feel ya, I got my 2002 stolen and it was found thrashed and totaled. After seeing this video now I need to come up with 75k to even bring it back to its glory days
Fun fact: I don’t even own a diesel, but I love them. Growing up we had idis, powerstrokes, etc. I’ve been following your channel for years, your attention to detail is immaculate. Hope to see you and your family continue to grow and be successful. And keep these old diesels on the road!
These videos are such a huge help. I have a 02 Duramax with the ZF6 and second single cab 2006 single cab hd 2500 with a 6.0 and nv4500. Im combining to build one zf6 built Duramax single cab out of the 06. These are kind of becoming my reference videos. Great content man!! Keep it up. This is a huge help for us home builders.
Yes it's totally worth it. That truck is just as good, if not better, and just as new, without any modern BS to worry about and still actually cheaper. I justify spending money on my old Duramax with this logic to people all the time.
@@agger838 It should be insured on an agreed value basis. This is how all classic cars are insured. You have it appraised before purchasing insurance and in the event of a total loss that appraisal is how much you're getting paid.
I put over 40K into my old 2008 2500HD Duramax/Allison last year. Im the second owner. It had 427,xxx miles when I decided to keep it and rebuild it. I will never get the $$$$ back that I have put into it over the 9 years that I have owned it but I will always need a HD truck so keeping it is just fine with me. Somewhere in the 60k range invested over 9 years? I have put 350,000 miles on the truck since 2015 and most of these miles were towing for my business so it has paid and continues to pay for itself. The truck (body) now has over 460,000 miles and still looks and drives great. I dont think I would take 60K cash for it to be honest. I could not replace what I have for 60K in todays market. FJB
Again thank you Josh for sharing! I’ve been watching this build from the ground up and it’s so amazing to see her done!! Beautiful pickup! I wouldn’t ever get rid of it
I own a 2024 2500hd and absolutely love it. I think the biggest difference I didn't hear you hit on is yours being non emission which means the world in longevity
Hey Truck Master I spent 3 Hours creating a playlist of Wife Max, over 100+ Videos, I love the wifemax out of all of them, hoping to buy one just like WifeMax
Josh... great job. 👍 I have to say I have been watching this channel since you started. Your achievements are outstanding. Your content is outstanding. You have a great family. Watching you and Mrs Truckmaster working together... outstanding. I venture to say that you inspired a few others to become a couple in producing their channel. That speaks volumes about you and the relationship between you and Mrs Truckmaster and your character. You have never hide your faith and the role it plays in your life and your family life. Outstanding. I can go on but I don't need to... one word sums it all up.. OUTSTANDING. Congrats on everything and keep doing what you're doing. 😎👍
This a very nice build. I am going to be importing an old man owned LLY CCSB 4x4 with 165K from New Mexico to Michigan and I hope to do something similar. I just wanted to be ahead of the rust game after owning so many rusty GMT800s. This one will only be summer duty though.
Your videos are great man I have change my water pump and motor mount on my lmm Duramax by watching your videos keep it up man your videos are greatly appreciated
Awesome build Josh, enjoy your vids. Am up in Calgary, had my beloved 06 LBZ stolen as well last Jan. Took me 9 months to find her replacement- 07 CCSB LBZ - found my old expensive parts at the wrecker when it was found (Titan Tank, FASS & FS-2500 Oil bypass). Next up: EGR DELETE, PPE Headers, Banks diff cover….and lastly TransGo jr for the Allison. One day will take a cpl weeks and come down to meet ya..!! Cheers bro Theo
Looking to get a truck. Definitely between the 04-06 (GMC or Silverado) I was just going to get gas. (Because I don’t tow anything) But a buddy of mine swears to the diesel and said to get one even if I don’t tow. I want to hear others 2 cents.
I have a 2005 silverado 1500 it was the last truck my dad owned before he passed away in 2017. It's my daily driver now it runs like a champ but rust is starting to take over. I'd love to get the bodywork done but I can't afford it so I will just drive it for now.
Simply stuff an LML with upgraded pump in a 01 vin truck with an interior swap and and 06 hd front. Emissions not required when placing newer engines in older vehicle. Unless your state/county requires it, even so it’s only the admissions standards of that year. Stuff I good cat and run I clean tune, if you’d even need one. The ability of that tuning platform can leave a pretty clean trail. A truly forever truck. That is if the frame is good. 😂
80000 worth it to you because it meets your exact dream specs but probably not to someone else who would have something different in mind. Customs are exactly that, one of a kind and worth it to the person who wants one.
This has nothing to do with this video but curiosity, have you seen the new fass egr filter? Do you see any benefits? Can you test it on an L5P? The questions I have about it are. Does it do anything good or bad to performance? Does it help or hurt the regen frequency?
Beet wheel and combo on it that you both have had on it yet! It looks great and I'm not even a duramax dude. I'm a 6.0 ford dude so anything I do is a waste of money to some because there definitely aren't as many of us as there are duramax dudes lol
I had a guy argue that an 48RE will be a good Duramax swap and as an ex rebuider I said no way. Allison all the way. Do you agree. You keep doing your thing we love it.
I think it is worth it if you’re going to keep it, not if you’re flipping it, I hope you do a cost breakdown of Sunkist, and maybe do a 6.5 build, I have never seen or heard of that type of build before!
I love how detailed you are in your work. would you consider doing a giveaway? Not a material type giveaway one where one of your followers like myself could bring their truck and do custom mods with you?

48re’s are a perfect option for racing when coupled to a Dmax but not ideal for daily driving.
the built 48re are stronger in some regards but if your making under 800hp theres no reason for all the extra work to swap it.
Awesome video. I’d take that over a new one all day long.

Forget the haters. The truck looks great!
If I had $80k to spend on a truck for my wife this would be definitely on the top of my list.

This is a top tier build
You can build a older truck real nice and stock

Anything is possible but I’ve never heard of one frying on a LB7. Maybe a TCM on a LMM
Yer not alone, been driving LBZ’s since 07, never heard of that nor experienced it.
