- Mary Jane lives in Panama for about 7 months each year and lives in New York for 5 months each year. She has the best of both worlds because she gets to spend time with her family in New York when the weather is beautiful there and then lives in Panama when it is cold and snowy in New York.
She shares good advice for others considering living in Panama part-time, including finding a rental, driving, and social activities.
Would you like to live in Panama part-time or full-time?

This is what we plan to do, so it’s great to see a video about someone who is doing it already!! Thanks!
Mary Jane would be my ideal teacher in her thinking and arrangements.
This is my plan as well, felt good to see someone snowbirding like I want to do! Thanks for sharing!
You can do it! Glad you liked the video
Thanks to Panama Relocation Tours and Mary Jane for this fantastic interview. I'm thinking along the lines of living in Panama Part-time at first to see if a permanent move is right for me. This interview answered all of my questions, so the only thing for me to do is to take Jackie's tour. :) Have a great day everyone.
I'm glad the video was helpful
Great video. Your situation will fit many people in the same boat.
It certainly will. And living in Panama part-time is doable!
THANK YOU !!! For sharing An excellent information and well done Video 😀👍💕
You are so welcome
I’m with you not liking heat. Sounds like the best of both worlds
So, for those of us who don;t like heat, Panama has many hilly / mountainous regions which may seem appetising.
* Obviously Boquete (but everybody knows that) (and it's to where the largest concentration of American immigrants go to stay)
* But there's also Cerro Campana
* Cerro Punta
* Volcán
* Cerro Azul
* And finally, not as high of an elevation, but definitely not as hot as by the water: El Valle
Enjoy exploring all of these places, just so that you know there are several alternatives to Boquete.
Thanks! Great information.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Jane for sharing your experience and good suggestions to consider Boquete as a very good option to part time retirement. Well done!
You are so welcome!
Thanks so much for sharing u are great
Thanks for watching
Nice video , with good info thanks !
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video. I want to do something similar but have a big dog which I don’t want to leave behind. Taking the tour February 24th looking forward to exploring Panama.
You can bring your big dog to Panama! We look forward to showing you how amazing life is in Panama.
Great video. I’m considering doing the same thing. I just want to get away from winter.
You can do it!
Nice explanation
Thanks for watching!
lucky, lucky!
Very nice and informative video's! Thanks so much.
Question: Are there videos for locations other than Boquete? Any temperature below 70 degrees is cold for me and good old arthritis doesn't like it either lol😀
We have 200+ videos and most of them are NOT Boquete.
@@PanamaRelocationTours Thanks so much for your quick response! I definitely will sign up for the tour in 2023. Can't wait
Do you keep a car in Panama?
she does keep a car in Panama
Do you keep a car in Panama or rent while there?
She has a car.
Hi Mary Jane, How do you deal with the humidity in Panama? Thanks
you use a dehumidifier
Hi How much is he rent? For something like what you have.
I think she said $700 for a furnished rental including utilities
Do they have FiOS in Panama or was she talking about USA?
she was talking about FIOS in the US
Those of us that are used to they heat and love the beach boquete is not the place to be
You're right. If you like beach, move to the beach. 1500 miles of coastline in Panama.
You will still get a discount. Just show your international drivers license.
No. Only legal residents and Panamanians can get the Jubilado/Pensionado discounts
@@PanamaRelocationTours my bad. My Puerto Rican friend got her discount. I guess they just assumed she was an older Panamenian.
Seems when a single man comes to Panama, the Panamanian women find them pretty quick.
A lot of Panamanian women want nothing to do with expats. But some do.
This panamenian woman says:: green go home. Everybody else, WELCOME, especially this sharp lady.
Panamanians want nothing to do with Gringo foreigners. I know because I asked lol
@@reginapolo3357 gringo is the term, not green go.
nice but more geared towards people with lots of resources. How about more low income expats?? You did a lot of those in the past.
We show a variety. Check previous videos.
Yes, I'm with you Annie. This nice lady has mucho resources, $$$, land, options, vanilla extract. I only have a small amount of vanilla extract, so I must be a bit more careful. ;-)
@@PanamaRelocationTours yes I have watched all the videos. Just suggesting more that is all.
@@robertgulfshores4463 I have watched all the videos over the last few years and I took the tour last year. I love Panama. The people that move there from larger cities and/or with huge resources is good for them but does not really feel like it is 'affordable' anymore for lower fixed incomes. I remember a video that she did on a lady that was renting a 3 bedroom place for 350 a month.. my question is that lady still there? Still have that very low rent? That is what I am interested in.
@@anniesshenanigans3815 Yes, I understand. I might be wrong, but from what I have seen and from information I gathered from friends who have been there and lived there, it is possible to live in Panama on a lower budget. However, there are places where the prices are much lower and you might live better. Possibly Guatemala? There are many beautiful things to do and see there ... old cities with charm, mountains, Mayan temples. I'm not an expert on this though ... maybe soon there will be a Guatemala Relocation Tours Company. Ha ha
