Mississippi Burning one of the best movies.
Hackman is great in the movie.
Ryokugyu it's one of the few films that made me hate the antagonists. And I do mean hate
It don't get know deeper then that
R.I.P. to director Sir Alan Parker.
14 February 1944 - 31 July 2020.
He made numerous great movie's, but this one is my favourite from him.
Pink Floyd - The Wall - Director
Not the best maybe from the best u need to watch the life of david gale for me it's the best also midnight express just wow
he is like the icon of fbi xd
Hatred like love is one of mans most primal instincts, and its sad that many people live for hate instead of living for love
“1964 - When America was at war with itself.”
We still are even in 2019.
Edit: I guess 2020 saw this movie and said “I have an idea”
2020, when America was at war with an enemy within.
The war ended in November 2016 when the Democrats lost the presidential election.
This comment aged well!
RossDiamondThief America is still at war with itself in 2020.
Bro you didn't even know what 2020 was gonna be
This movie is more scary than any Horror movie set in the South like Deliverance, The Hills Have Eyes, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, ...etc. None those are as scary as Mississippi Burning because it depicts real human nature.
Her name was Fannie Taylor she died in 202 not soon enough she lived out her life had kids and grandkids so not fair like the woman who lied on Emmit Till they got away with it on earth but God is having his say
Whoah! Loved the movie but never saw it that way.
And it really happened.
That moment when he is holding the attacked man and says: "What's wrong with these people?"
Nothing much. Humans are mean to each other. If you want freedom you have to fight for it. Not beg for it.
@@stampedmetalsword8099 So true. Regardless of our ethnicity, we are all humans that must be free to fulfill our potential.
lol
Said by an FBI agent living in a 100% white neighbourhood without a single minority.
LeftField - Not Forgotten (1990)
As an Irish person, I just absolutely CANNOT understand why anyone would hate a black person. The irish were colonised too. And experienced similar in our country in this sense. But absolutely no one. And I mean no one should ever be treated badly.
Was at a bus stop at my college two years ago and a man stood on a crate spewing the same hateful words that you can see in this trailer. Only the year has changed, not the evil within humans :(
You should have knocked the crate over.
I hear the same stuff when I go back to Virginia.
Were you sitting on a whites only bench?
Back to africa
Maybe the man on crate had friends murdered every time they ventured into a predominantly black neighbourhood, try it sometime
Funny thing is the man making the speech during this trailer, railing against Jews and any other non Anglo-Saxon is Jewish actor Stephen Tobolowsky.
Chad Zeller thanks for saving me a trip to imdb
+Chad Zeller Well the Klan demised because of jewish infiltrators so that just makes this movie more truthful
thats why they call it acting
The Klan died out because of heart disease and adult-onset diabetes. No sheet and hood can keep a man safe when he spends his afternoons rubbing Crisco into his grossly obese man-tits while making whale noises.
You should look up Toblowsky's clip where he talks about filming with Stephen Seagal - hilarious! This is a great movie though, one of the best. Gene Hackman is amazing.
A fantastic film starring some of the best eighties star's listed above. Gene Hackman is a brilliant actor as is Willem Dafoe.
What was so fantastic about this movie I need to ask you as far as I'm concerned this movie was embarrassing it's horrific to watch and you got to nerve to be entertained by this?? You must be another Christian you people are embarrassing man This is a true story too so you can't just say this is fiction This is a true story and you talking about its fantastic... Far as I'm concerned you making a comment like this you must be one of the grandchildren of these pathetic evil people...
2020 still at war with itself
I first saw this movie in high school and just rewatched it. It’s so good.
Sobering movie based on the actual killing of 3 young activists in 1964 Mississippi. Hackman and Dafoe are brilliant in this.
Probably Alan Parker's best movie. People should also see his other movie Angel Heart.
ive only heard of this movie and didnt even know what it was about. I just watched "inside the actor studio" with Willem Dafoe, it was brought up, now im here. Next ill be watching it. Looks fantastic.
About as realistic as it gets, unfortunately....
Gene Hackman delivers one of his most powerful performances and shows what he's made of.
Gene Hackman was terrific with his performance. I still can't believe that Dustin Hoffman defeated him with "Rain Man", another fantastic performance.
@@franklesher4459 Well, it's a bit difficult to choose between equally great performances.
Extraordinaria.
This one is the best, A Time to Kill is also good
I would recommend the movie The Chamber (1996) by John Grisham. It's about civil rights and has Gene Hackman in it. Great movie!
This is an amazing trailer
Mississippi is still burning with a fiery cross.
Yes thank god.
Your very President is black hahahaha
He's not MY president.
@@leltrip2803 Biden is your president now! :) Racism is a thing of the past. Too bad for you.
My dads in this movie.
That's Kool. Who is he
@Michael Nope, it's not a speaking role and it's cut out of the cable version. He's a reporter, blonde guy, good up-close head shot. Shows him listening to and writing down what the Sheriff was saying.
@Michael The film was shot in Mississippi where I, my dad, and most of my family are.
@@bluliite ignore the troll.
@@bluliite How is it there ? Compared to rest of the America ?
2020, and it still is.
My favorite scenes are the ones with Gene Hackman and Frances McDormand, especially the part when he gave the flowers. It seems like a useless scene but I love the chemistry.
Played at the theater where I worked in high school
I saw it 100 x
A masterpiece
Imagine living in a time when violence committed by one particular race is overlooked and excused and ignored and excuses made and nobody is allowed to discuss it.
unbelievable movie, gene hackman at his best
I think this is the best Alan Parker's movie. The cast is great: Hackman, Dafoe, Mc Dormand, Dourif....
...and Rooker. The scene when Hackman grabs him by the balls is simply legendary.
1964: When America was at war with itself.
Oh, if the trailer guy only knew the world we'd be living in here in 2018.
The war ended in November 2016 when the Democrats lost the presidential election.
Only if he knew what was happening in 2020💀 Mississippi is really burning now
Archie yxf lmaoo
try 2020. 2018 was just a warm-up to what's going on today.
Great movie!!!
My late Grandfather left just before 1964 glad he made it back home alive
I watched this movie right few days after finishing Mafia 3. The whole time I was picturing Lincoln Clay stepping in and murdering all the KKK members.
My aunt and her ex husband plays in this movie. He played as one of the men that got shot, brother. 🔫
Mxed_Breed bre what's his name?

Great movie, the sheriff's such a despicable antagonist
2017... when america is still in war with itself..!

Watched this in high school. We had to learn about this movie and learn English at the same time
watching this tonight
Great film. Great performance by Gene Hackman.
Except for not even attempting a Southern accent.
And the sad and horrible truth is IT STILL IS😕😕😕😕😕😕
How exactly do Catholics like myself "bow to a Roman dictator"?
OK this is not my personal opinion so don't shoot the messenger. One of the most important and impressive individuals I have ever met in my life was a Catholic. I am not anti-Christian and this is only my limited understanding of the politics involved.
The Catholic religion was adopted as a state religion by the Romans because they thought it was the most effective in keeping people in line and supported a ruling hierarchy. Its fundemental distinction is that priests only teach parts of the Bible to the commoner if they deem it worth them knowing. So critics would claim that it keeps the majority of its followers in the dark and stunts their spiritual growth. Yet it may well suit those who do not want to think too deeply about it and are willing to place all their trust in the church.
There are a lot of sects of Christianity that have sprung up more recently in America because of this. Where they claim to teach the original teachings etc. The problem is that the original Bible has been lost or hidden away and there is little left of what true Christianity was.
Even if we had the original Bible, Christianity is essentially a melting pot (some might call it plagiarism) of other religions. As most of the western world has adopted Christianity as their state religion it has come to play a large part of western identity. So various sects and denominations desperately cling to it, usually claiming superiority for their version.
Aside from minor differences in beliefs it's generally become a competition or spiritual one up-manship. Some may see it differently, for example the tensions in Ireland. Though Buddhism stresses that religion itself is merely a vehicle or rather a means to an end. Something a lot of Christians haven't learnt yet hence the violence that surrounds it.
H. Hassan Damn right I'd bow to to kiss his ring, he's the Pope. He deserves nothing but utmost respect
H. Hassan No they weren't. They're inbred, racist, Baptist nutjobs
You follow the word of some old guy in a funny hat in Rome.
Profound79, The Catholic Church is the historical Church that Jesus built and the Apostles established it throughout the world... That's a historical fact. Look it up in the Encyclopedia Brittanica. Which is the only set of encyclopedias that can be entered into the court of law in the US as evidence... A testament to its scholarship. You can also read Ignatius Epistle to the Smyrneans Chp 8 written in 107 AD Ignatius was personally taught by the Apostle John and Ignatius said: "Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is the Catholic Church." Do you think that he got it wrong? He was personally taught by the Apostle John.. I don't think so... Everything that any Protestant has come from the Catholic Church including the bible... Don't believe me look it up.. It took 3 councils. The councils of Hippo, Carthage and finally Rome in 405 AD under the direction of Pope Damasus I.. So no matter what Christian faith tradition you are you owe your access to the Holy Bible to the Catholic Church... Just read the Bible, Church history, and the Church Fathers... education can fix ignorance, but nothing can fix stupid. Maybe you'll be lucky. mail.google.com/mail/#search/catholic+church/163adc65d00ee229?projector=1

How the hell was the "Freedom" sign also shattered following that explosion? A shockwave?
Sadly, we were all put on this earth without our permission. We're forced to live among the most angry and hateful being possible. Why?
One of the disturbing movie.. feeling bad for Blacks.. don't know why White behave like this without respecting other human.. no one is superior.. just love or if u don't like just walk away don't spread hateness
My son was crying when he saw this movie
Kids should not watch these types of movies. It may scar them, they might be disturbed for days. Not saying you should not make them aware of racism and how evil it is. I'm just saying they should watch these movies when are emotionally matured enough to handle this.
Some movies/games are full of gore, yet they may not be emotionally scarring, and on the other hand, there are movies like this that are more impacting than Mortal Kombat.
