    I love the pretty packaging but I’ve gotten several pins in just those baggies and I’m usually so excited to get the pin that it didn’t matter. So it would be more money in your pocket which would be good!

    Have you considered using cardboard cards stapled onto the top of the zip bags? That way you can use the original packaging and add some cute and it's a bit quicker

    • @BumbleBaylee
      @BumbleBaylee  5 лет назад +16

      I brought this up in my stream as a possibility too! I don't know how much time it would save because I would have to print, cut, fold, and staple each topper, but it would use way less packaging. I'll try it out to see how it looks.

      @@BumbleBaylee In one place I worked they just got what were basically business cards that were stapled on. Not as pretty as the folded version but quicker especially if you order your cards online

    Bailey, would it work to use the little baggies but staple them to your paper backing card? Or make a little paper thing that folds over the top of the baggie and staples on? Might be a speed and reduced extra packaging to aesthetics compromise?

    You could only use backing cards for A grades, that way you save alot of time and it's a little more special than buying B or C grades.

  • @arcadacameron381
    @arcadacameron381 5 лет назад +194

    the packaging does make them feel special, but when you think about it, it just gets thrown away in the end. I'd say if you do a convention package them cutely, but for shipping, I wouldn't worry about it.

      Another compromise for conventions could be having some without the backing, so people can choose. Display the ones with backing and have a grab bin style option for those without. It would also be less work for her!

  • @kenzieelle
    @kenzieelle 5 лет назад +1

    I really hope I can snatch a few pins when these go up!! But for the packaging, they are reallllyyy super cute and feel really professional and special, but also with out it it might be better for the environment and save you a lot of time. I agree with some other people if you’re just doing it then it might be better to just do the packaging for conventions.
    I’ve been watching you for a really long time now Baylee and you are some of the few artist RUclipsrs I still watch and you’ve gotten so much better and I love all the things you’re doing now, the pins and stickers, and I think you have so much potential to make a really wonderful art shop. I know you’ve talked about this before that you don’t want staff or anything but I think it could open up a lot of potential for you. If in the future you were able to get a small warehouse or something and have people help with the tedious packaging like packaging pins or buttons, but you’d still be able to help if you like. I just think you could do even more with a staff and have more time to design and have fun with the shop, but I know that’s not what you’ve wanted in the past and RUclips is your main thing but I don’t know it could be really awesome. Love you Baylee!!

      Hiring someone to help me with the shop is probably the only reason I would ever hire someone. The extra revenue generated from the shop would cover the cost of their wage. There are still a lot of hoops to jump through, legally.

    I wonder how it would look if you took one of those backing cards that was printed on both side and fold over the top third and then insert the pin in the original bag under the fold and then staple it. So it would kind of end up looking like your button packs but with card behind the pin to help support it and help it stand out a bit with the design. Then you won't have to remove from the bag, pin it to the card or put into the second bag and save you a bunch of time.

  • @brennamurphynd

    Can you get the pins sent in a way other than individual bags? I.E. many pins loose in 1 bag? It has to be alot if work on their end to bag them individually. That would save you time and you might be able to negotiate a lower price.

    Maybe for pins you can keep packaging for limited edition pins or for pins you're selling at cons (for promo) but online keep it in the plastic it comes with since someone ordering from your online store might be more likely to remember your store. I wish the US had recycling for those soft plastic baggies :/ (at least they dont in my area). edit: or you can keep the full packaging online when you sell one pin but if you're selling multiple just use original baggies (sorry for long comment lol)
