I was looking for this music and just typed "music with Zippo".. Thank you internet.
Yes sir this is my story the first half of my life running from different states even living in a abandoned train station in Memphis but by God's grace i have been sober for 30 years and been driving truck and now I am instructor and 4 wonderful children and 9 grandchildren grandchildren
im happy that you overcomed addiction and wish you the best
I guess I assumed initially that you had the entire abandoned train station to yourself and promptly became very jeleous.
That's nice and supports you King!!! It lifts me out of depression...... 💪💪💪.... AND HELPS... 😁💪
Good 24 h
As a kid, I always used to fast-forward through this song as it opened Lethal Weapon 3. Upon re-evaluation, this song is the best part of the movie.
Yes it certainly was because Lethal Weapon 3 is the weakest of the bunch haha!
Not to mention, anything Sting composes, is absolutely gold
Its because the man always delivers..🇨🇦
@@jasonvoorhees895 it's a great song....
LW3 brought me here! I stopped the movie to come listen to this beautiful song first!
The sound of the zippo flipping, striking and closing on beat is hands down the coolest sound any artist has ever put in a song.
It was the basis for the whole song, tale tells...
Leon Cohen has one that sounds the same ." A thousand kisses."Who stole from who ?
@@krumarcrumar2654 Who gives a fuck. this is not a contest, its art. And anyway fuck Cohen
I agree but I don't understand the sequence, because to me it sound like. Open. Light. Close. Close, which is impossible to do ?
It's a video sample from the opening credits of the 80's Blockbuster Lethal weapon in which this song was included. Come on guys.
Whenever I see Lethal Weapon on TV, it remind me how much I miss you, dad. I will remember you as long as I live, and I hope we get to watch it one more time together. 🖤
The Clapton guitar just blends so good with this song it’s just a work of art. The course is such a sweet transition as well
King of melody +King of guitare =fantastic song😊thanks forever gays!
Uhm, I think you mean "Guys", do you?
Great Music, Great Vocal, Great arrangement, Great Musicians.. You won’t find anything like this nowadays
Well said
On a mainstream level fair enough! Still plenty of incredible stuff around, just not a commercial level
If the night turned cold
And the stars looked down
And you hug yourself
On the cold, cold ground
You wake the morning
In a stranger's coat
No one would you see
Ask yourself, 'Who'd watch for me?
'My only friend, who could it be?'
It's hard to say it
I hate to say it
But it's probably me
When your belly's empty
And the hunger's so real
And you're too proud to beg
And too dumb to steal
You search the city
For your only friend
No-one would you see
You ask yourself, 'Who could it be?
'A solitary voice to speak out and set me free'
I hate to say it
I hate to say it
But it's probably me
You're not the easiest person that I ever got to know
And it's hard for us both to let our feelings show
Some would say
I should let you go your way
You'll only make me cry
But if there's one guy, just one guy
Who'd lay down his life for you and die
It's hard to say it
I hate to say it
But it's probably me
When the world's gone crazy, and it makes no sense
And there's only one voice that comes to your defence
And the jury's out
And your eyes search the room
One friendly face is all you need to see
And if there's one guy, just one guy
Who'd lay down his life for you and die
It's hard to say it
I hate to say it
But it's probably me
I hate to say it
I hate to say
But it's probably me
I hate to say it
I hate to say
But it's probably me
I hate to say it
I hate to say
But it's probably me
🥰🥰
Both Sting and Eric Clapton are such great musicians, this era of music is sadly is over...
Great artists.
For sure!!
And David sandborne on sax
Hopefully not. I still have hope. A lot of young / new musicians just need the proper exposure/budget/financial war chest!
Please stop telling people that this era of music is over. It’s also your fault if the radio always plays commercial stuff. And when I say you, it’s not even personal, I’m just talking to all the people who is so pessimistic. Just support the young people who try to play this kind of music, possibly without being obsessed with the past.
Don’t misunderstand me, please, I love this kind of music, otherwise I wouldn’t be here, but still…
…let’s support the next generation: Ezra collective, Cherise, Alfa mist, Masego…
Blues and jazz will never die my friends. Just keep your ears connected
🥹
What a collaboration... Total Class!!!
That Song is 30 Years old and still very good!
Rest In Peace David Sanborn.
You're Sax playing was amazing and always perfectly queued in the Lethal Weapon films.
RIP David Sanborn. One of the best to ever do it.
Sting is a Philanthropist, social activist. He calls on everyone to become a better version of one's self. Great song, the band does justice. Original rustic sound
Probably the best bromance song ever
Genius in its purest form.
Sting, Eric Clapton and David Sanborn performing together on one of my all time favorite songs, simply brilliant......
Facts💯💯💯
Gregory Porter best cover big respect
Did you know that Gregory Porter's hat is like a shell to a tortoise? If it's removed he'll die!
Yes in deed. I think porter is doing this song better
@@ericconsen yeep , you wish!
This is perfect.
I dont want to hear any cover of this song ever!
Gregory Porter tore it up...
This will always bring me back to the Lethal Weapon movies. They don't make movies depicting the kind of friendship worthy of such a song anymore. I'm so glad we have DVD to watch them again.
The solo in this song is just PERFECT!!! It flows like water. The articulation, tone, clean technique, no stupid overplaying. Feels natural as breathing. Oh right, I forgot...God played it. No wonder. hhh
The zippo solo at the intro wasn’t too shabby either
P
@@jonathandutchak9541 that zippo definitely didn’t light a Marlboro. Too cool for any smoke other than a hand rolled
That must be why I didn't notice the solo. Too obsessed with the lyrics
It is just magical
When the song makes more sense everyday.
La première fois que j'ai entendu cette chanson, j'en ai pleurer tellement elle était magnifique. 20 après, cela n'a pas changé. Merci Sting pour tes exceptionnelles chansons.

beautyfull song, and thinking about Riggs,Murtaugh indeed.they are a perfect Movie duo
Let’s do what one shepherd said to the other..let’s get the flock out of here..👍
Juste parfait, Clapton+Sting .....quoi de mieux❤️👌
This song is the very best part of the movie love it ❤ 2023
A lot of artists have a few hits in their careers..sting has a catalogue of masterpieces to choose from..the man is a modern day Mozart..pure genius!!!.♥️🇬🇧

Masterpiece
Are you kidding me. Two huge talents and both hot as hell. I'm watching this all night.
Fantastic sound.
The right mood, the right voice, legend song.
My gym teacher played this song in 2015.. I heard it one time & I was hooked. Thank you Mr. Simmons 😅😌 This song is a whole vibe.

Wow I am listening to this for the first time! This is so smooth, engaging with beautiful lyrics. Sting has the soothing voice, David Sanborn and Eric Clapton are great! The entire ensemble is just marvelous.
I've listened to the song many times I as hoping to confirm what my ears were telling me about the sax player David Sanborn short licks with an edge

we talking about Eric or sting here? Because what you said is true for both that's for sure
Amen @Adam Adam and I've seen both legends live in concert so there's 2 more items off my 'bucket list'.
can you tell me what the lyrics are about? my english is not the best :( i think he's singing about being homeless and noone cares about him but he cant quit everything cause his mind tells him he still cares about himself in some way? thanks for answer and sorry for my bad english
Sting's saying that he blames himself for a lot of misfortune in his life@@azo0ownz
Love sting
The thing I like most about this song is, even though it was written for Part 3, it could count for the whole series; the melody can be heard all the way back to the score for the first movie.
One of the most amazing songs out there. This is one of those very few examples of what music really is! Love this song, forever!
It's almost 3 in the morning and I'm listening to this in the middle of a pandemic I'm thinking about the friends I've lost because of it and I'm crying because I realize what I lost but also who I remember... Until we meet again, and another time and another place. This is one of those songs that makes you feel everything at once
Sorry for your loss...hang in there...
DONT listen to Fragile by Sting, that will certainly make you realise how precious life is. Go and treat yourself to something you love 💕
You’ll be ok, life is a learning experience and sounds like you have LIVED. Hope you are happy and healthy
Bonjour Arnold, vous retrouverez les êtres chers disparus dans un autre monde 🙏🕯️🌟

@@cathymancini6667 I don't speak French but I think I understand the implication of what you said in response
Sir Eric Clapton is in top form. So smooth.
We remember.
Sting, Clapton together? That's like a dream team of the caliber of Obama and Martin Luther King collaborating on political agenda. But this is pure musical ecstasy. Sometimes men and Gods are very close to one and the same and we mortals must stop and live fully in the moment of their grandeur, light and the flame and beauty that they create.
No more good old days 😢
iv always listened to rap music never country never rock nothing but rap probably because of where i was raised but the moment i heard this song it humbled me greatly gave me goose bumps made the hair on my arms stand up i listen to this song everyday even got my homies singing it word for word all drunk as hell😂
The idea of the clicking cigarette lighters is pure genius. It's the little additions that matter when it comes down to a memorable song.
Listening to this on a cold or rainy night, this song it's different. You can literally feel it in your soul
Remember seeing this at the cinema 30 years ago at the start of Lethal Weapon 3 - admittedly a dismal movie - but the opening credits with this song and the fire was just mesmerising to me. Stayed with me for a long time. Then I realised what the lyrics meant and it resonated even more with me. I just keep coming back to it.
Thanks for pointing that out. I knew I knew the song but couldn't remember I heard it.
Lethal Weapon 3 is an awesome movie David : ))))

Best song ever..........
Goosebumps! I think the strings really add something. It's a whole different vibe to the newer version
Profound meaning in these simple lyrics, minimal music, sting at his best!
The clicking sound is a Zippo lighter. Reading a Reminisce magazine that spot lighted them. First ones made in 1932 in Pa. Good song by 2 great performers.
I’m amazed that Sting hasn’t done more work with Clapton. Seems like great chemistry.
I miss my best bud. Rip Dom! 😪
Absolute soul pleaser, such a wonderful combination of talent.
Clapton and sting musical heaven 😍
This is a classic. It saddens me that this kind of music dont exist no more. I give these new artists credit, but the music now will never be on the same level as music like this. #Sting #EricClapton #PureLegends
edonahue14 But it does excist. On youtube
But, it DOES still exist! Sting just put out a new album in October of 2021. You just have to work a bit harder to find it, but it IS out there.

The only Sting song i love. But i really really love it.
best ballad ever...love the way this song was done and yes I love lethal weapon...but had to keep listening to this song... Sting and Clapton...love you guys
beautiful
This song was part of the soundtrack for the movie U.S. "Lethal Weapon 3" there were 3 or 4 sequels- this song was part of the third movie and I had the CD in the early 90's and loved this song, it's about loyalty between police undercover partners- they didn't always see eye to eye but were doing a dangerous job where you had to know your partner had your back. As a matter fact the one of the actors is in the audience in this video.
It never gets old. Thank for this. Poetic
Great song. The Gregory Porter version is amazing as well.
It's amazing as soon as you hear that honking on the sax you know that that's a Sanborn guest spot
Gregory Porter showed no mercy on this song.....he nailed it with no discussion
My dad and I send this to each other once or twice a year. I grew up with these films(tv rated til I was older) and we love the music they used/featured. Quick edit, love my Dad, he's a badass.
Resonates deep with me this one, always loved Sting and I was in a bad place and homeless when this song came out, always reminds me of that time, great song but very bittersweet ❤️
Well, i was in a bad state myself back then.
