1:36 it drives over the exit chevron which is potentially very dangerous and then at 1:42 it ends up half in the other lane. Another very dangerous manoeuvre.
?? Where and when did we get this lol 😂 I still can’t make a 20min turn on basic road or not have to grab the wheel to avoid hitting a car in the lane next to me because it can’t center or handle slight turns. Sometimes does sometimes doesn’t lol. I don’t see a promise met at all years past and they made us one video where there went to tacobell and at one point you see him nearly miss sideswiping a car in an exit. And not to mention this taco is for one car only and that one in video is all. So no no promises met no taco by end of year. It’s no different then mark saying meta has legs and only find out that it was all cgi and they never had the feature. Just hopes of but faked it to make the sales. Same here. Exact same. They kick you from the groups as well if they don’t agree with you or don’t want to help. I can also show that where I’ve been kicked out of these multiple times because that discord is all a powertrip ran by a hand full
@@DarkCloudVapors well. They said they would drive to taco bell without disengagement using open source code. They did that. I sympathize with your complaints though.
Is the comma 3 hardware capable of checking for cross traffic at unprotected intersections or will there need to be a version 4? Can it see to the left and right that far?
@@YesitisDex There a some cars that support OP long and some that do not. They have a handy chart on their website that shows each car's capabilities. In my case openpilot handles lateral control (steering) while my car's stock ACC system manages longitudinal control (gas/brake). The downside is that my car would never receive features such as stopping for stop signs or red lights because openpilot can't control the gas/brake. For some cars it's a matter of software development meaning future longitudinal control is possible but with others it is a hard limitation.
So impressive guys. I've been thinking for a while to add this to my parents Lexus as they've been dying for an aid while driving cross country. I'm gonna pick one of these up today
I wonder how many times they had to record this before they could have a run where they didn't need to stop for a pedestrian, because Comma doesn't detect pedestrians.
It's end to end machine learning, it doesn't detect them on purpose but if people stop for them in it's training data, then it will stop for them as well. Same with traffic cones for example.
The blog post talks about how simple the lane changes on nav are right now. To avoid staying in an exit only lane the car will go one lane over when entering a highway. And when exiting it will go as far over as possible. I think that is what's happening here.
thats insane, comma has to be number 2 in the race to FSD behind tesla and from a small team, very impressive. i would think if they sold the company and tech to a known car brand easy 10 figures
comma NEEDS to have dashcam built-in or at least an option for one as an add-on. seems like a HUGE and critical miss. not tryna have a handful of devices hanging on my windshield
Hi. How can be use at Toyota veloz. I had updated for the software. But not Toyota veloz can be choose. So cam2 can not to work. Who can suggest me how to do ? Thanks
Technically, you didn't go to Taco Bell. I didn't see the car pull in and park . . . Just kidding. I'm just giving you guys a hard time. This is VERY impressive! I bought a Comma 3 during 2021's Black Friday sale as an early Christmas present for myself. I have been addicted since day one. I cannot go back to traditional driving. I just enabled the Experimental mode last night to try out end-to-end longitudinal planning. Yes, it's not perfect, but it's still damn impressive. I'm very much looking forward to Comma's continued evolution and enhancements!
There's actually a driver monitoring camera that can see in the cabin, and somewhat out the windows. OpenPilot also pulls data from your cars blindspot monitoring if it has it. All of this allows it to safely decide when to make a lane change.
How do I have openpilot with this thing and in my Toyota Corolla and for it to go to destination by itself without taking over and drive by itself like this car with openpilot
@@Medmanutdfan Here is why I was curious.... there is not enough data for the computer to make that kind of decision safely. Blind spots for example. where someone is sitting for any period of time near the corner of the rear bumper. Crashes related is what caused the radar bumper to your side mirror craze.. when passing a modern vehicle you may see a yellow icon in the bottom corner in the side mirror of the car you are passing. That ICON is a notification to them about the blind spot, and is caused by a fully functional radar in their rear bumper. Without a 'rear camera' a computer AI is only going to make good judgment calls with lane changes ONLY 25% of the time as that would be the FULL extent of its true vision. that is a HUGE portion of this trip to Taco Bell... ALOT of lane changes going on
It would make so much since to make the system work with wireless android auto and the cameras a much smaller or invisible like fitcamx I'd easily pay 3k for that
I hope that the software and equipment can support more vehicle models in the future, such as Toyota's veloz and Toyota's avanza models, which are the most popular in Asia and have the largest number, but the equipment does not have this option, which is a pity.
Congrats!! Can u do the same with a Corolla? A once GH said as the best car, out-of-the-box, for Open Pilot. Just wondering, as I've stopped following comma's work after the release of C3.
Get those manufacturers to start shipping comma with their cars! Comma could be the next open source "Android"! Try to get it running on the silicon shipped by the manufacturers!
Congratulations on the progress with such a small team! Very inspiring to see the improvements over the years.
The community is super helpful, probably one of the best I've ever seen.
@@yskwong All open source communities are extremely kind and helpful, to be fair.
Great job Comma team.

"without a disengagement" Only if you believe those sketchy over the line curves are not an issue.
teslas also crash without disengagement 😂

Yep, near death experience.
Amazing work! Now, to one-up Tesla's 2019 demo, I would love a member of the community to recreate this.
Keep up the good work Comma team! Appreciate the hard work and please keep posted on the progress. Thanks!
Noticed that is running HDA II. Two cables to the Comma 3.
The trim level they purchased is indeed HDA II, but the second cable goes to a Red Panda, required for all CAN-FD cars, not just HDA II.
That is pretty awesome. I'd love to have this for my EV6.

I personally see a lot of value in a "help me learn" feature, taking into account driver inputs to learn.
Wait…it can take exits and handle intersections on its own‽ Like I could set a destination, and it would just do most of the driving‽.
So I am going to convert a 1967 Fastback to electric, do you think the autopilot will work on that?
This is what FSD should look like. Fuck fancy status symbol cars.
can we jailbrek the device for changing speed limit
OMG! In Kia Niro EV?? It works? Great job guys!!!!
everything including background music = cyberpunk af!
Next, we get cyberpunk streaming to, devices
