    Hi Matt. May you please make this "Posh" Accent app for iOS. I am willing to pay an one time fee as long as it allows to record myself too to compare my "bad" accent with the correct "British" accent.

    When I was in Secondary School I had to learn how to speak with this accent because my technology teacher spoke with a Posh RP Accent
    My school was Hazel Grove High School in which is in Northwest England.
    And now I’m 20 years old I have noticed that my voice has become posher since I’ve left school (I left school in 2019)

    Noble accent you say? ....
    ... Well, when you're done with learning your best *posh accent* . Just pop down to the place the *Antique Roadshow* is visiting and join the a group of posh old folks that are admiring antique deadly *metal spears* , rejoicing at the thought of how much damage they would do... Like in this episode:
    ruclips.net/video/vsAVvzVXa7I/видео.html
    The old lady at the end literally says:
    *you twist it and you pull the inside out at the same time*
    🤪 Yikes!

    Does it have Cockney???
    please don't tell me it doesn't have

    • @MattPocock
      @MattPocock  7 лет назад +1

      It certainly will do - but my plan is to do videos like this to help you get to grips with words that change from RP into Cockney. So you'll be able to star all the words that change into Cockney and give them a go. How does that sound?

    This is a lesson in how to sound absolutely ridiculous. For "heightened rp" read "very old fashioned rp". I live in a posh part of London and no-one speaks like this!

    • @MattPocock
      @MattPocock  7 лет назад +3

      You're totally right, dude - hardly anyone these days talks like this. Except - lots of actors need this accent for 18th Century plays and period pieces in film. So you're right - pretty ridiculous.

    • @Ross.Cavendish
      @Ross.Cavendish 7 лет назад

      OK, yes for period drama, but not for current contemporary speech. If I heard someone speaking like this in Chelsea (where I live), I would assume the person was being provocative.

    • @MattPocock
      @MattPocock  7 лет назад +2

      Totally - I'm in Hammersmith, just the next borough!

    With all due respect, your RP pronunciation sounds like a language that hasn't even been invented yet, though Australians may have been involved at some point.
