At this point, bring back the horsepower wars lol. These tailgates are getting ridiculous.

Right? Honda had this on the Ridgeline 20 years ago. I would rather have a reliable truck that is affordable than having all these useless niche features that only make the truck more complicated and expensive like digital gear selectors, auto start/stop, dual-zone climate control, electronic emergency or "parking" brake, wireless charging pads in the console and all that. Just give us a dang truck that doesn't match a mortgage payment!

Ford clearly late to the "fancy tailgate" game... Offering the only thing that hasn't been done so it doesn't "copy"...and what you end up with is silly. Leaving those 2 little sides makes sense how ? RAM split gate is 2 pieces both open ... that's the move.. Honda of course was the originator with 2 way gate for a LONG time now...and of course if you want insanely complicated there's GM's offering...
Ok. Now all the FORD fans can flame on because how DARE I mention RAM & GM ... LoL 🤣

Still does not give you the full width of the bed access from the rear of the truck.

Ford! Honestly...being a bit disabled, I NEED the step...but this feature is quite nice I see...so, easy solution. Make the cool little step to assist getting in like a power deployed running board! When you open the new center door. That would make everything a lot easier and PLEASE do NOT get rid of the easy access tailgate! I look forward to getting that on my new truck...up AND down with the click of a button! How perfect! Add a foot wave function like on the hatch of the SUVs and even better! (Also, bring the Everest to the USA! What a perfect little SUV for american buyers!)

Probably only an option on the most expensive trim levels.

Yea it's for "Pro's"... who are filthy rich. Lol
Ford is just ridiculous right now. I have been a Ford fan my whole life and as of the last 4-5 years, I have really started to hate what they have been doing. Not just because they overpriced their trucks, allowed dealers to markup thousands of dollars over retail (even though they claimed they tried to stop it which is BS), but their quality and reliability has gone to sh--. The way they treated their employees (during the pandemic especially) was deplorable.
Ford needs a reset. Badly. I don't want to see them collapse, and I'm sure they won't, but I just hope people stop agreeing to pay ridiculous prices for what should be a cheap, simple, easy-to-work-on family and toy hauler with basic creature comforts. The fact that the most basic F-150 is in the same price range as luxury brand vehicles and even Corvettes is ridiculous. Then they have the balls to charge you $50,000+ and STILL won't include a nice steering wheel, but a stupid plastic one? They are crazy.

Oh look. An easy access trunk for the pavement princess with the bed devider. Someone who throws a tonneau cover on the bed and never takes it off. I wonder how long before the interior comes with a vacuum and a cubby hole for wet wipes.

HAHAHA!! Actually, a vacuum isn't a bad idea. But Ford would charge $1,100 for it and then when it broke, the dealership would have your truck for 6 months because the parts are "backordered"

Ripping off the RAM Design. 😂🤣😂

    • @michaelgraham5242
      @michaelgraham5242 3 месяца назад

It comes in cycles. RAM and GM copies Ford, Ford copies RAM and GM. I still really like the tailgate step on my 2010 F-150 though. I just wish Ford did a Ram-Box equivalent feature because that is very useful for someone that has a bunch of tools, straps and tie-downs for towing trailers more often than they use the bed of the truck.
Now RAM and GM need to do the flat rear load floor like the Ford's do. That is something I can't live without now that I've lived with it so long.

I can see people pressing down on the opening section to get in and out. They’ll do that until it bends and gets stuck open or won’t open. Then they’ll whine about the repair costs..

I wonder how much this option adds to the cost of the truck?
Just asking for a friend. I can't afford any new pickup today so the price doesn't matter.
I'd rather see a tailgate made out of a piece of plywood and a reduction in the price of the truck.

This is a ridiculous move by ford. The pull out step they have had since 2008 is just fine. Imagine sweeping dirt out of the bed with this down and now you have all the cracks and hinges to worry about.

Nobody even wants this. The footstep is a joke bring back the tailgate step. Someone tell Ford that the "STAMPED F-150" on the tailgate is the most CHEAP looking design in the history of the F-150. 💯💯💯
