The idea of the Watchers making their way onto Hermitcraft trying to find Grian again is such a neat concept! And I love how everyone from Boatem came to help their friend without hesitation. Storytelling was on point. Your work ethic scares me lol, DEFINITELY try to take a break, this was awesome!
I think so too! It's really cool to see that. I actually think the reasoning behind that is that it's the easiest to visualize? Like, maybe it's what people are most familiar with.
Literal chills. As the watcher's finger gets close to Grian's face, his wings tense up with his eyes, then world fades to purple and so does the elytra, and as the watchers start taking control, his eyes flicker purple. The Swoop. And then the angle change as Grian faces the watchers. The blurring of the screen at the end. Perfection.
The Watchers: "You cannot deny your past. You are one of us." Grian: *His watcher powers now fully manisfested.* "I know. But I choose them." *Blasts watchers back with those same powers.*
That was so cool- what the hell? The idea that the whole "Moon" event in Season 8 was caused by the Watchers is RIDICULOUSLY cool, and something I didn't even think about. Plus, the whole fight scene was animated so well-

I’ve loved the watcher lore, and this just took my obsession to a whole new level. I am very heavily influenced by my belief that relationships with people are super important, and I will do anything to protect people that I care about. So this this video combined two of my favorite things in one incredibly well done animation. Just wow.
Litrally crying, the friendship is so wholesome 🥺 Grians panic and then scar jumping in with a comforting smile. Then Mumbo using the end crystal to back scar up!! Then Impulse and Pearl as well. I also loved the detail of grian protecting the other Boatem crew with his wings at the end. I adore this! Right to the playlist.
I am in absolute love with this and have watched it more than once. When Grian is flying away after Scar grabbed him free, and seeing him hug scar close was such a nice touch, then it going into the other Botem memebers doing their parts to protect Grian. Ah just the stoeytelling, the art, the coloring and the small details like the gradient change of color on Grians wings, or Jellie joining at the end. Absolutely in love and this is one of my most favorite hermitcraft animatic, props to you!! 💜💜

that shot of Mumbo coming to Grian's defense with the end crystal literally gave me goosebumps... the animation is so good, and the feeling of family protecting family resonated so strongly throughout the entire video, it's amazing!

This is really amazing. I should probably thank you because I saw this a few days after you post it and it made me really want to start getting into Watcher lore. I have now read many a fanfic and started watching Evo and rewatching the life series with Martyn's pov. I knew Watcher stuff had been everywhere recently, but this convinced me to actually delve into it. I now absolutely love it and may have a mild obsession.

This video was so good that I had to do this: Fandom: Hermitcraft Time/Setting: Season 8 Characters: Grian, Mumbo, Scar, Pearl, Impulse POV: Grian | 3rd Person It was a regular day on the Hermitcraft server, everyone was off doing their own things. Grian was sitting on the roof of his house in Boatem town, enjoying the view of the mountains to his left and the horizon that was in front of him. After sitting there for a few more minutes, he hops down, his wings flapping behind him to slow down his fall. With the sun setting and the large moon peaking over the mountain tops, Grian walked through the grassy fields, hoping to find someone to talk to. "This is nice, very peaceful," He told himself, looking up at the moon in all its glory. However, the peace didn't last long as Grian took notice of a familiar purple eye appearing on the whitish-grey surface of the moon. He looked at the eye and the eye looked at him, blinking only once. He quickly turns around to see two large hands and another large eye hovering above him, his wings spread out as a way of defense and a warning. His eyes widening with shock and his face filled with terror. He closes his eyes and wings as one of the hands reaches out to him, his body shaking and frozen in fear. He opens his eyes to see everything around him turn purple, while being surrounded by a large white circle. Hermitcraft completely disappears, leaving the world as a hazy, purple pocket dimension. Even his own wings have turned a purplish-lilac color. "N-No! I escaped you! There is no way-" "Oh, Xelqua, you may believe what you want to believe, but deep down in your heart. You knew we would find you again." The voice interrupted, with a low chuckle that echoes around him. "Because no matter how far you run, no matter where you escape to. We will find you, over and over and over again. You can't get rid of us forever, Xelqua." 'Xelqua' the name he chose to abandon ever since he left the Watchers and joined Hermitcraft during it's sixth season. He never thought he would be hearing that name again. Out of panic he begins running, trying to find a way of escaping this place. He knew it would be a difficult and risky move to take. As he was running, Grian felt a hand grab his ankle, causing him to fall to the ground. He tries to get back up, but more hands grab at him, pulling him back. It was as if the Watchers didn't want him to leave, to go back to Hermitcraft, the place he now called home. *I can't! I don't want to stay here! I got friends to go back to! A family who cares for me!* Grian tries to escape the grasp of the multitude of hands gripping at his shoulders. His eyes flicking to pure purple, causing slight confusion, and blurry vision. He reaches out his right arm, trying to find something to grab onto to anchor himself from being dragged back to the terror of the Watcher's castle. "*Someone! Please help me!*" Grian shouts out into the empty world. As if on cue, a hand grabs his wrist, pulling him away from the hands. His vision clears and he sees Scar pulling him to safety with a smile on his face. "You called?" Scar chuckled. "Scar!" Grian cried. They began falling, in which Grian grabs onto Scar, flying away from the eyes and hands. He dodges in time to evade the end crystal that was in Mumbo's hand. Grian gently places Scar down on the ground, both boys watching as the crystal explodes, causing a cloud of dust and sparks to blind the floating eyes for a mere moment. Grian noticed as the large eyes turn to look at Pearl, standing there unafraid of the entities before her. The hands follow suit with the eyes, reaching out to grab the seemingly defenseless Pearl; however, a Wither floats above her, ready to attack the beings. Floating above them both was Impulse, his yellow top hat being held by his right hand. "Now attack those nasty creatures!" Impulse demanded. On command, the Wither goes and battles the eyes and hands. Grian and the others join by Pearl's side as the Wither fought. "Alright! Way to go, Impulse!" Scar cheers. Grian stood in awe and even shock. But the battle ended with the Wither being crushed into bits and pieces. The eyes looked furious, before joining together with the hands into one large energy wave, which went straight for Grian and the rest of Boatem. Without thinking, Grian pushes everyone behind him with one arm, while reaching out with his other towards the wave. His wings open up and surround his friends, shielding them. Grian's eyes change to where there was nothing but purple and the Watcher's symbol in them. As the wave made contact with Grian's hand, he began to absorb the energy, breaking whatever spell was set over Hermitcraft, returning the world to normal. The night sky was filled with stars, the mountains reaching above the clouds, and the moon just starting to set in the East. His hand falls to his side, before he collapses onto the ground between Scar and Mumbo, his wings covering them gently. Pearl was next to Mumbo, with Impulse in between her and Scar. All five were battered and bruised, covered in scratches, ash, smoke, and small burns. Scar, Mumbo, Pearl, and Impulse were passed out, exhausted from the earlier battle. Meanwhile, Grian just looked up at the sky in shock. He couldn't believe it, he actually did it. He actually managed to escape the hands of the Watchers for a second time. He looks at his hand, which was covered in a large burn from the energy wave making contact with his skin. His mind was racing with many thoughts, but those thoughts were pushed out as soon as exhaustion settled in. He closes his eyes, placing his arm down beside him, allowing for peace to take over. The sound of paw steps reach his ears, he could only assume they belonged to Scar's cat, Jellie. He listened as Jellie laid down in between Scar and Impulse. Those were the last sounds he heard as he fell asleep, hoping to regain energy by morning. He knew he had some explaining to do when everyone woke up, but it was worth it in the end. @@LukeySkywookie 'Xelqua' was Grian's old channel name. And we've taken that to using it as his past EVO name and his watcher name in his lore. Also I do recommend that you watch EVO SMP because it's really good.
@xXlotusmoonXx i...did not know that. that's pretty cool. also now that i think about it, that beginning scene where Grian's underwater and, like, drowning or whatever... it makes me think of how he might've met Boatem... Maybe, when he escaped from the Watchers the first time, he fell into the lake, and almost drowned... but then the Boatem crew found him, saved him and took him in? (at least that's my interpretation of it)

AAAA love how you input their abilities/personalities in this (Mumbo's obsession with end crystals, Scar being so cheerful/always smiling at the start, and the same with Impulse and Pearl!). I'VE WATCHED THIS OVER A DOZEN TIMES IT'S SO SO SO GOOD!!! one thing that gets me about the story here is how almost none of them know what they're fighting against. they don't know what watchers are or what they want, they just know that something is trying to take/hurt grian and that's enough to quickly spur them into action ;-; but omg you made such a spectacular (FULLY COLORED!!) animation so quickly!! you definitely deserve a break after that

Ok now this. This, is what I call perfection. True art. I loved every second of it. The animation is so smooth and it's so full of references and little nods to what happened during season 8 and honestly I don't think there are many animations out there that can top this. Easily one of my all time favourites, just like the rest of your work. You're doing amazing. Please keep it up because I cannot stress enough how amazing you and your work are!

This is really amazing. I should probably thank you because I saw this a few days after you post it and it made me really want to start getting into Watcher lore. I have now read many a fanfic and started watching Evo and rewatching the life series with Martyn's pov. I knew Watcher stuff had been everywhere recently, but this convinced me to actually delve into it. I now absolutely love it and may have a mild obsession.

Time/Setting: Season 8
Characters: Grian, Mumbo, Scar, Pearl, Impulse
POV: Grian | 3rd Person
It was a regular day on the Hermitcraft server, everyone was off doing their own things. Grian was sitting on the roof of his house in Boatem town, enjoying the view of the mountains to his left and the horizon that was in front of him. After sitting there for a few more minutes, he hops down, his wings flapping behind him to slow down his fall. With the sun setting and the large moon peaking over the mountain tops, Grian walked through the grassy fields, hoping to find someone to talk to.
"This is nice, very peaceful," He told himself, looking up at the moon in all its glory.
However, the peace didn't last long as Grian took notice of a familiar purple eye appearing on the whitish-grey surface of the moon. He looked at the eye and the eye looked at him, blinking only once. He quickly turns around to see two large hands and another large eye hovering above him, his wings spread out as a way of defense and a warning. His eyes widening with shock and his face filled with terror. He closes his eyes and wings as one of the hands reaches out to him, his body shaking and frozen in fear.
He opens his eyes to see everything around him turn purple, while being surrounded by a large white circle. Hermitcraft completely disappears, leaving the world as a hazy, purple pocket dimension. Even his own wings have turned a purplish-lilac color.
"N-No! I escaped you! There is no way-"
"Oh, Xelqua, you may believe what you want to believe, but deep down in your heart. You knew we would find you again." The voice interrupted, with a low chuckle that echoes around him.
"Because no matter how far you run, no matter where you escape to. We will find you, over and over and over again. You can't get rid of us forever, Xelqua."
'Xelqua' the name he chose to abandon ever since he left the Watchers and joined Hermitcraft during it's sixth season. He never thought he would be hearing that name again. Out of panic he begins running, trying to find a way of escaping this place. He knew it would be a difficult and risky move to take. As he was running, Grian felt a hand grab his ankle, causing him to fall to the ground. He tries to get back up, but more hands grab at him, pulling him back. It was as if the Watchers didn't want him to leave, to go back to Hermitcraft, the place he now called home.
*I can't! I don't want to stay here! I got friends to go back to! A family who cares for me!*
Grian tries to escape the grasp of the multitude of hands gripping at his shoulders. His eyes flicking to pure purple, causing slight confusion, and blurry vision. He reaches out his right arm, trying to find something to grab onto to anchor himself from being dragged back to the terror of the Watcher's castle.
"*Someone! Please help me!*" Grian shouts out into the empty world.
As if on cue, a hand grabs his wrist, pulling him away from the hands. His vision clears and he sees Scar pulling him to safety with a smile on his face.
"You called?" Scar chuckled.
"Scar!" Grian cried.
They began falling, in which Grian grabs onto Scar, flying away from the eyes and hands. He dodges in time to evade the end crystal that was in Mumbo's hand. Grian gently places Scar down on the ground, both boys watching as the crystal explodes, causing a cloud of dust and sparks to blind the floating eyes for a mere moment. Grian noticed as the large eyes turn to look at Pearl, standing there unafraid of the entities before her. The hands follow suit with the eyes, reaching out to grab the seemingly defenseless Pearl; however, a Wither floats above her, ready to attack the beings. Floating above them both was Impulse, his yellow top hat being held by his right hand.
"Now attack those nasty creatures!" Impulse demanded.
On command, the Wither goes and battles the eyes and hands. Grian and the others join by Pearl's side as the Wither fought.
"Alright! Way to go, Impulse!" Scar cheers.
Grian stood in awe and even shock. But the battle ended with the Wither being crushed into bits and pieces. The eyes looked furious, before joining together with the hands into one large energy wave, which went straight for Grian and the rest of Boatem. Without thinking, Grian pushes everyone behind him with one arm, while reaching out with his other towards the wave. His wings open up and surround his friends, shielding them. Grian's eyes change to where there was nothing but purple and the Watcher's symbol in them. As the wave made contact with Grian's hand, he began to absorb the energy, breaking whatever spell was set over Hermitcraft, returning the world to normal.
The night sky was filled with stars, the mountains reaching above the clouds, and the moon just starting to set in the East. His hand falls to his side, before he collapses onto the ground between Scar and Mumbo, his wings covering them gently. Pearl was next to Mumbo, with Impulse in between her and Scar. All five were battered and bruised, covered in scratches, ash, smoke, and small burns. Scar, Mumbo, Pearl, and Impulse were passed out, exhausted from the earlier battle. Meanwhile, Grian just looked up at the sky in shock.
He couldn't believe it, he actually did it. He actually managed to escape the hands of the Watchers for a second time. He looks at his hand, which was covered in a large burn from the energy wave making contact with his skin. His mind was racing with many thoughts, but those thoughts were pushed out as soon as exhaustion settled in. He closes his eyes, placing his arm down beside him, allowing for peace to take over.
The sound of paw steps reach his ears, he could only assume they belonged to Scar's cat, Jellie. He listened as Jellie laid down in between Scar and Impulse. Those were the last sounds he heard as he fell asleep, hoping to regain energy by morning. He knew he had some explaining to do when everyone woke up, but it was worth it in the end.

That's such a great take on this! And honestly I can imagine Grian being scared as the Watchers try and take him over again. Personally I've never seen EvoSMP, but now this makes me wanna check it out for myself!
Also that Watcher name, "Xelqua", is pretty cool
@@LukeySkywookie 'Xelqua' was Grian's old channel name. And we've taken that to using it as his past EVO name and his watcher name in his lore. Also I do recommend that you watch EVO SMP because it's really good.

also now that i think about it, that beginning scene where Grian's underwater and, like, drowning or whatever... it makes me think of how he might've met Boatem... Maybe, when he escaped from the Watchers the first time, he fell into the lake, and almost drowned... but then the Boatem crew found him, saved him and took him in? (at least that's my interpretation of it)
@@LukeySkywookie Actually, Grian escaped from the Watchers during Season 6 of Hermitcraft (According to us fans that is with the Watcher Lore).

AAAA love how you input their abilities/personalities in this (Mumbo's obsession with end crystals, Scar being so cheerful/always smiling at the start, and the same with Impulse and Pearl!). So cool!!!

one thing that gets me about the story here is how almost none of them know what they're fighting against. they don't know what watchers are or what they want, they just know that something is trying to take/hurt grian and that's enough to quickly spur them into action ;-;
