I absolutely love how everyone’s elytra is drawn differently!! It really adds this subtle character to everyone’s designs

I love Impulse's cut off "NOO-" at the beginning, it feels like a premonition of the mishaps to come

Oh man, I loved reliving this scene again. It’s also cool to see others’ designs for elytra’s and other flying contraption! You may know this already, but Doc canonically gave himself redstone butterfly wings :D

The best part of this incident for me was the contrast in perspectives, for Scar and Grian the giant “we’re sorry” sign was in slime blocks giving off a calm green hue, but for Doc due to his texture pack it was blood red and totally unsettling
I love Doc’s gesturing in disbelief as he just goes “you BROKE it??? hOW???” to “you will rue the day!! >:(“ to “aww these gifts are cute :D” - the changes in expressions as he goes through the stages of grief at ghe destruction is SO GOOD
Also Grian and Scar looking so excited at the start when fly over to check out the tunnel bore !! :D
I love how you animated the little "It wasn't Grian OR Scar proof" with Grian dragging his little foot through the dirt and Scar looking guilty

Loved the portrayal of what exactly went wrong, the machine (giving it tank treads to obey gravity) and Doc's arena and how you gave him a jetpack. I also loved how you made him use a fragment of the machine as a mirror. Nice emoting BTW.

My favorite part about this entire interaction is how if it were just one of them, it would have been perfectly fine, and the only reason it broke was because both of them were there
Honestly, I love how you can hear docs smile. Just shows how much the hermits mean to him, regardless of the accidental destruction
Oh my gosh, I seriously LOVE the way each scene transitions into each other, the wide shots, the way the machine blows up and the gear rolls to their feet! There's always so much attention to detail, like each person's elytra having a different design, and Scar pressing the button after Grian. I love, love, love the character designs in this, especially when they're using their elytra. It's so unique how Grian's are feathered, Scars are dragon wings, and Doc literally has a couple rocket propellers on his back. That's just so unique and cool, I absolutely adore it

I've seen a couple other animatics of this scene, but I think this is the first one to actually show a detailed version of the machine. The details of the machine blowing apart and Doc looking at the broken pieces really sells the scene.
Love the touch of Doc using a piece of his machine's scrap to look at himself.
I love grians visible excitement and bouncing up and down right before everything literally blows up in his face

dude the tunnel bore design was so cool!!! 0:15 the full shot of it like WOW all the mechanical parts moving when they press the button and after it blows up the gears and wires going everywhere was so cool!!! grians scream and their collective panicking will never be old their expressions were GOLDEN loved it

Ikr, besides the amazingly well done poses and expressions for each frame, that tunnel bore really caught me off guard
this was an amazing animatic! Doc's elytra being a jetpack was SUCH an inspired choice! and I absolutely love how, when scar pressed it after Grian, he just kinda casually leaned on it, thinking nothing would go wrong!
I absolutely love the way you portrayed the redstone components of the bore machine as an actual sort of machine.
Love how you showed Grian hitting the button for the last time, and Scar happily hitting it right behind him not even looking, both of them oblivious to what they just did. xD

Your doc design is so good! The way you drew him and his expressions was just so “doc”, the same with all your other designs you always manage to capture the hermits’ personality so well! And the tunnel bore design was awesome! Incredible animation as always ❤ edit: I really loved the detail of grian pushing scar away from the tunnel bore in the beginning, that was really funny XD

Wow, can I say I LOVE the detail??? It's always so impressive when artists creatively reinterpret things like redstone mechanisms or elytras to make them more in-world. All those cables, gears, the holes that tracks make in the cave...
Also, I think you captured perfectly the shock and "Oh shiiiiiit" vibes of that moment... And Doc's emotions later, the absolute WTF energy you gave in those faces as he sifts through the wreckage... Great stuff!

I love the expressions on Grian's and Scar's faces when the machine breaks- it reflects their voices and reactions in real life so well and you can just see the horror on their faces in that moment of the animatic which makes it feel so realistic! Great art!

i am in love with the fact that the elytra designs are different based on who the wearer is to fit more with their characters (doc having a jetpack, scar having bat wings)

I love the layering work you did on their voices from both original episodes, plus the perfect capture of suspense of the TNT wick burning down, and the catapult reveal, and the entire tunnel bore design looking mechanical and repetitive and complicated, and accurately showing exactly how they broke it and why it broke, and the single gear rolling in front of their feet, and Doc using a random glass shard as a mirror, just 👌👌👌

This is so good and filled with so many details with the characters and their expressions. I especially like the little moment where Doc goes to check out the apology gifts and cools down slightly, especially with the Scarland items, then his anger returns
