Groups photos, public meetings, on screen birthdays, with earsplitting songs, and all around more interactions, and impromptu little moments when hermits meet and cause havoc, chaos and fun. This season is special. It feels a lot more alive.

When X took the photo, I thought it would be nice to have computer wallpaper-sized images like the one he took. It would make for a stellar background.
I like the new spawn chunk Location you can easy terraform the area and make it interesting with the map in the center and a few creative Post Signs a market stall for supplies telling you or the Hernits or once the season 10 map is out for everyone.
Doesn't docm's rainbow beacon need to be in spawn chunks to work? Otherwise I think it breaks ones unloaded. Perhaps can be fixed with a chunk loader I guess ( I dont know) but I think thats why docm chose that location for the beacon.
@@marpheus1 Well, he put it in the spawn chunks because they don't unload. Which means the Beacon could break anytime someone unloads the chunks in which it is in. The block for server restart is to stop it from functioning before the server restarts and unloads the chunk breaking it. So yes. Doc does have a fail-safe for restarting the server. But that does NOTHING about loading and unloading chunks naturally. For it to continue to work, he WOULD have to move it to the new spawn chunks. Or completely redesign it.

But a chunk loader would be enough to keep it running once it gets loaded by a player (the current reload mechanism should be able to do that as well if it also restarts the chunk loader). But hearing X say the world spawn is behind the court house, where the farms are, when it's actually next to the lava, just gave me an idea: Maybe the beacon is already outside spawn chunks and maybe that's why it kept breaking? I guestimated that it's still inside but maybe it's not.
@@marpheus1 the block activates *before* a server restart. It's used to turn off whichever machines can't be unloaded. If I remember correctly X also makes use of it in his witch farm.

I said that I wasn't aware if it needed to be always loaded and apparently it does need to. I can see how my "I'm not sure it needs to always be loaded" sounded like I new better than him. This is awesome thing to see its nice to see behind the scenes of this stuff and would love to see more of this stuff even if its like building processes and such in more videos
I'm glad it takes four minutes and two deaths to prove that the spawn chunks will no longer be at that current location when the server updates. For a moment there I was worried the Hermits were going to be productive!

I don't know how the server works but wouldn't it make sense to put spawn near the shopping center so if someone dies they can just buy more stuff if they need to

its the default spawn point, and a small area around it is kept running nomater whos nearbuy, so its usefull for some types of redstone, that was actually what x was marking out with the copper
@@ye3623I believe the most recent update reduces the size of the spawn chunks, so they're basically getting ready for when they update the server. As for why the location is important, it's the spawn point so they need it somewhere practical to get from and because it's constantly loaded, it needs to have minimal redstone so the lag is kept to a minimum.
@@ye3623 If an iron farm was in them like the hermits have done in previous seasons, the farm would keep running even when no one was around or online.
