I don't know how I only realised this now, but with how Mumbo's moustache is animated in the Cheapslate animatic, the bottom edge of it functionally acts like the mouth of the ":3" face It makes Mumbo look so friendly, which works well with softening the tall, relatively lanky and rectangular design and unifying it with his quite cheery voice
Hermitcraft is the best! But I also love how everyone had a different elytra design, Grian had bird wings, Mumbo had a jetpack, Doc had a jetpack with big fans on the back, and Scar had either Dragon or bat wings!
I've seen Third Life, Secret Life, seasons 8,9 and 10 through Scar and Mumbo's POV's (where applicable) and I'm watching Grian's POV for season 10 as well. Okay so for the most part we (Tumblr where I originally posted this) kind of agree that Desert duo are soulmates. This is fanon at this point to a certain degree. Therefore, they will be drawn back to each other no matter what world they're in. It is also completely canon that Mumbo has eaten Grian's soul, therefore they are logically linked. (Season 8, he juices him to eat his soul so he can be human again after tricking Grian with a dodgy contract because he turned into a potato man.) My theory is this: Grian's soul is drawn back to Grian since that's its proper body so Mumbo and Grian are tied together as artificial "soulmates". Grian's soul and Grian himself are also tied to Scar as he is Grian's soulmate. So Grian's soul ties Mumbo to Scar as well, since it's drawn to its soulmate, which is Scar, which makes them artificial "soulmates" as well. Therefore, Buttercup trio is fated to stick together as long as Mumbo has Grian's soul. (Granted, this was mostly for fun!)
One thing I admire about Persefida, is how simple every character is, and yet, as far as I know, follows every rule is character design... Also, HANDS! HANDS! HANDS!?!? HIW ARE THEY SO GOOD!!!
I really love how the characters really look like their skins while also adding a small twist to them (mainly body size and such) too many artists use weird OC versions of the characters to the point that they rarely look like their skins.
Grian's reaction when they broke Doc's tunnel bore has the same energy as a younger sibling breaking their older brother's lego collection, especially when they confronted him about it. Also that scream was so genuine lol (ᴴᵉʳᵐᶦᵗᶜʳᵃᶠᵗ ᶦˢ ᵗʰᵉ ᵇᵉˢᵗ)

Persefida's animations always excel in three key things. Character designs perfectly matching both personality and appearance, Expressions (both facial and bodily posing) Anatomy. Slightly cartoonish anatomy but I just love how you have it so realistic but still feels so in-place. Everything else works so well, but these are what are iconic to you and are rarely seen to this quality elsewhere, especially together. You really make these people into characters.
You can tell the gears turning inside Grian’s head when Mumbo texted Grian. About his shop will go cheaper whenever something happens to his shop. Grian started to form a Master Plan! 😆

the wither warden fight is so well animated with scar just running through obstacle after obstacle xD also this whole video reminds me that grian is the kobold of the hermits you look at his videos and at first he looks innocent if not even adorable but then see him with the others and he is a creature of chaos and destruction and i love it i love all the hermits and their interactions so much

I love this style, all of the characters are so simple yet so recognizable and it flows so smoothly!! If you think about it, at its core, Hermitcraft is just a regular SMP with some wildly ambitious players. What makes it special is the people, both the creators and the community, pouring so much love into it. Which is especially recognizable in big compilations like this. And it’s so wild to think that they’re already in Season 10! Man, Hermitcraft is the best.

I really love this 23:15. Making a scene where characters need to move quickly and fluid in animatics seems so hard but you did such a good job at it, the way they fight and run feels so smooth even in animatic form.
