The funniest thing is that Scott let them pair up thinking that they will take each other out of the series pretty quickly (and prevent Scar winning again). It's been 7 episodes, 3 players are out, and Jimmy and Scar are still in the series

What I think is very interesting is that things like this are hardly ever called out by the standard viewer. I'm no artist but I can manage, and I was raised with two sisters who are pretty freaking good at art so I've found myself noticing things like the above but also facial reactions, tiny little changes in expression (like a quick sigh before talking) and other little niche details that often go under appreciated. Comments like these help bring the attention to the light and I, even though I have no relation or connection to the artist in question, really appreciate it when people go out of their ways to comment things like this. Grian having a shoulder cape is SUCH a natural transition from his usual "elytra angel wings" design because they both have a sort of windy-ness to them. It also makes him look like a hobbit! Mumbo having that minimalist pringles face when simplified is simply adorable. I am chuffed to bits. And I love how you managed to make his suit more interesting with the arm straps and gloves, AND AND those pointy elf ears and rich guy hair!! Making Joel a tired-eyed sort-of-alien to link back to his skin's Shrek origins is so genius. AND SCOTT. SCOTT. WHY ARE THEY SO GORGEOUS??? The bottom eyelashes, the subtle lip curve, the teeth gaps when he made a hiss sound, THE HAIR SPARKLES??? Anime boy. He's an anime boy. Scar. His shoulder pockets. His pointy but curved teeth. His crying face. His kerchief and scars. Protect him at all costs. Lastly I'd like to appreciate the incorporations of hearts in all their clothes (its the life series symbol). Grian's heart pin to keep his shoulder cape linked, Mumbo and Joel's heart buttons, Scar's heart kerchief, and Scott's Heart Brooch! I love this video so much. You are now an inspiration to me in character design.

I like how the entire Hermitcraft Animated community has basically agreed upon the fact that all Hermits and interactions between them are and look somewhat romantic, nothing in the form of ships or something like that, just casually romantic by themself and with each other Also hits the Life theme very well (and maybe that's the main reason you chose to draw them like that but my point still stands!)
Oh I can't express how much i love this!!! The character designs the expressions, the framing and movement, the depiction of the pun items! Fantastic! The pun items (almost always) not being simply thrown on the ground but each having a unique action of drawing and presenting them was SO GOOD. I adore the reference at 0:52. Also the "Moon Big" reference too.

This is just... so beautiful. It's always so much fun seeing what animators do with the items Mumbo and Grian are punning with, but I've never seen someone animate gifting before and that's also so cool! Even their little hole in the ground is so detailed and pretty.
The start of the puns make it seem like they’re brothers mucking around (Eg. Mumbo hitting grian with the block or grian swinging the pickaxe around them) I think it adds a depth of character no other animatic of this scene is able to convey I amy be 3 months late but Bravo!
2:52 okay but this is hilarious now that I think about it because Jimmy’s curse was broken this season and SCAR WON! Like omg, Scott single-handedly changed the entire course of the season.
The fact that the very next season (not counting Real life) Scar and Jimmy did end up teaming up, surviving the deadliest episode and not died first is amazing

At first I thought this was like a 20 to 40 second bit, but you’ve gone and done nearly *5 minutes* of animation!? And it’s so well done! I love the switch from high detail to chibi and the designs for each of them. (Also the way you posed them during the puns with the sticks and everything!) It was so cool looking, like they reach to their soul for the heart, and then it just materializes in the most satisfying way possible and I just- oh my gosh this entire thing was amazing, and you have some genuine talent, and I hope to see more animatics from you, because there is no doubt that they will be as impressive and well done as this one (but i also don’t want to pressure you into making more if you don’t want to; please only make more if you genuinely want to, because I wouldn’t want to cause any burnout or dismotivation (that’s not a word but whatever)) overall, everything was incredible
"moon's not big" nice detail. seriously though, this is one of the best Minecraft-series based animatics I've ever seen. Very high quality, great art, tons of fun little details and references and of course the creative ways you incorporated the puns all coming together to make this so much more enjoyable. Best of all the character designs are SO nice with Mumbo's suit, Grian's half-cloak thingy and Scar's jacket all being very fitting and cool looking, not to mention how they make a good, recognizable silhouette and remain easily identifiable for the cuter simplified versions. In addition to the aforementioned aspects, you also have really good camera angles and posing that tell the story really well, be it a new character coming into scene or the characters stepping back for a laugh, some good examples being Grian sitting on the dirt wall at 0:15 and 0:18, Jimmy looking down at the conversation at 1:14, Scar's arrival during the mining pun at 3:46, Mumbo's dramatic joke at 1:31 and Grian giving a heart at 3:23. Overall a very well made, very creative interpretation of what was originally just people walking around in Minecraft. 10/10 I just wanna say, I like to keep my subscription list tidy. There are no channels on that list that I don't consistently watch unless they're a friend or family member and I only subscribe to a channel if I actually intend on watching more of their content, meaning I basically never subscribe to a channel after only seeing 1 of their videos. In this case however, I just absolutely love it. I subscribed to keep quick and easy access to the rest of the channel so I can catch up on it all later and I can't wait to see what you make in the future! Edit: sorry if this comes off as pretentious or anything i just wanted to gush about rhe video lol
This was the best life series animation I’ve seen!!!! There was so much expression in all of the characters and you can see the work out into every frame! I loved the call back to last life and it changing how you were able to swap Mumbos expression from laughing and happy to scared so quickly!

Okay this needs so much attention. You somehow perfected their character design with literally no visible flaws. You even added little touches of hearts and things to bring them together and they're just SO perfect! DUUUUUUDE!!! THIS IS AMAZING! I've seen some high quality minecraft animatics before, but this art style is GORGEOUS!!! And there's so much personality behind everything; the facial expressions, the body language, it's all so fitting for each person!!! And it's so long!!!! Like, I kept expecting the video to end at various points, cause usually minecraft animatics aren't that long, especially high quality ones, but this just kept going!!! This is phenomenal!! Quite possibly the best minecraft animatic I've ever seen!

The way you swap styles (Like when scar found the apple, to grian and mumbo panicking up the stairs, to the "camera" alongside Scar above and chibi grian in the speech bubble) is so satisfying. Very much helps that your character designs are so solid they feel PERFECT.

Coming back to this video after a few months, but this animatic is what got me into the life series and then eventually into Hermitcraft. I thought the bit was really hilarious but I wanted to see what all their tasks really were since it was only briefly touched on, and I didn’t even know it was Minecraft related but now I’m hooked and I have you to thank for it

OKAY. EVERYTHING. I LOVE EVERYTHING??? THE CHARACTER DESIGNS ARE ACTUALLY MY FAVORITE THINGS EVER (I love Grian’s little cloak thing 😭) AND THE LAST LIFE FRAME WITH THE PICAXE OH MY ABSOLUTE GOODENESS IT WAS LIKE AMAZING AND THEN (okay the little ghost thing Joel had was actually so cute lol) THE ABSOLUTE YAS-NESS OF SCOTT WAS IMPECCABLE, LIKE HE WAS CONSTANTLY /GLOWING/ IT WAS AMAZING AND THEN oh my gosh I CANNOT WITH THE ANIMATION OF THE GIFTING A HEART!!! It was so cool looking, like they reach to their soul for the heart, and then it just materializes in the most satisfying way possible and I just- oh my gosh this entire thing was amazing, and you have some genuine talent, and I hope to see more animatics from you, because there is no doubt that they will be as impressive and well done as this one (but i also don’t want to pressure you into making more if you don’t want to; please only make more if you genuinely want to, because I wouldn’t want to cause any burnout or dismotivation (that’s not a word but whatever)) overall, everything was incredible
"moon's not big" nice detail. seriously though, this is one of the best Minecraft-series based animatics I've ever seen. Very high quality, great art, tons of fun little details and references and of course the creative ways you incorporated the puns all coming together to make this so much more enjoyable. Best of all the character designs are SO nice with Mumbo's suit, Grian's half-cloak thingy and Scar's jacket all being very fitting and cool looking, not to mention how they make a good, recognizable silhouette and remain easily identifiable for the cuter simplified versions. In addition to the aforementioned aspects, you also have really good camera angles and posing that tell the story really well, be it a new character coming into scene or the characters stepping back for a laugh, some good examples being Grian sitting on the dirt wall at 0:15 and 0:18, Jimmy looking down at the conversation at 1:14, Scar's arrival during the mining pun at 3:46, Mumbo's dramatic joke at 1:31 and Grian giving a heart at 3:23.
Overall a very well made, very creative interpretation of what was originally just people walking around in Minecraft.

I just wanna say, I like to keep my subscription list tidy. There are no channels on that list that I don't consistently watch unless they're a friend or family member and I only subscribe to a channel if I actually intend on watching more of their content, meaning I basically never subscribe to a channel after only seeing 1 of their videos. In this case however, I just absolutely love it. I subscribed to keep quick and easy access to the rest of the channel so I can catch up on it all later and I can't wait to see what you make in the future!

1:37 grian's laugh was just amazing
This was the best life series animation I’ve seen!!!! There was so much expression in all of the characters and you can see the work out into every frame! I loved the call back to last life and it changing how you were able to swap Mumbos expression from laughing and happy to scared so quickly!
All of the praise in this comment section is so so deserved this is wonderful but I need a moment to process how absolutely gorgeous your lineart it. I'm eating your lines they're so so good
Okay this needs so much attention. You somehow perfected their character design with literally no visible flaws. You even added little touches of hearts and things to bring them together and they're just SO perfect!
Also, everyone's talking about 0:52 and the moon big and last life references which ARE awesome,, but like the hug frame at 4:28???? Um yes??? This is just a whole caboodle of goodness
I didn't realize how long this was bc I was so excited to watch this! I thought it was just a Grian and Mumbo animatic but then Tim showed up! And then JOEL! And then SCOT IS SO PRETTY!! AND THEN SCAR!!!

DUUUUUUDE!!! THIS IS AMAZING! I've seen some high quality minecraft animatics before, but this art style is GORGEOUS!!! And there's so much personality behind everything; the facial expressions, the body language, it's all so fitting for each person!!! And it's so long!!!! Like, I kept expecting the video to end at various points, cause usually minecraft animatics aren't that long, especially high quality ones, but this just kept going!!! This is phenomenal!! Quite possibly the best minecraft animatic I've ever seen!

The way you swap styles (Like when scar found the apple, to grian and mumbo panicking up the stairs, to the "camera" alongside Scar above and chibi grian in the speech bubble) is so satisfying. Very much helps that your character designs are so solid they feel PERFECT.

Coming back to this video after a few months, but this animatic is what got me into the life series and then eventually into Hermitcraft. I thought the bit was really hilarious but I wanted to see what all their tasks really were since it was only briefly touched on, and I didn’t even know it was Minecraft related but now I’m hooked and I have you to thank for it
