- On November 5th, 2023, an officer on patrol noticed a suspicious woman near a business. She was rummaging through a donation bag filled with items for donation. The property had strictly prohibited trespassing and had removed unwanted individuals in the past. As soon as the officer stopped his vehicle, the woman began to run away. Soon, backup arrived to assist the officer. Shortly after, another officer arrived to translate what the woman wanted to convey. The female was charged with resisting arrest.

How do you know that? I've dropped things at goodwill 4am after work.. just bc it's not something YOU would do, doesn't mean no on else would.
Not sure about her, but I had no choice but to drop some things off at midnight because of working so late. Some times it may be best to be a bit lenient.

That’s pretty low to steal from Salvation Army. My husband and I were dropping off a load at SA one Sunday. There was a Cadillac Escalade there with two women filling there truck with large ticket items. I thought they were making a donation when actually stealing. People do this and go online to sell it.😢😢😢😢😢😢

In my last home that i purchased, i had a humongous closet/dressing area.. I was cleaning/donating things to the Salvation Army... very nice things.. I took the first bag to the bin, and the Hispanic family parked there. They had a child climb in the bin to get my first bag out. They began going through it and placed the entire bag in their car. I put the other bags back in my car, and the next day, i took them inside of the Salvation Army..
it’s a donation your giving it away for free anyways I wouldn’t care personally if I dropped it off and someone got it all as soon as I did. But that is just my opinion ofcourse. I mean Salvation Army is going to sell it idc if the person picking it up sells it or keeps it. I personally donate because I don’t want the crap anymore but I see both sides of it also just sharing my opinion

I put my donations at the curb with a 'Free' sign on it. Whatever's left at the end of the day (which isn't much) I take to a drop off. It's fun to watch my stuff go to people who can use it.

We got a beautiful organization called 'the free store' where all donations are FREE. There needs to be more of these places nation wide. I have seen many organizations accepting FRER DONATIONS sell those donstions at high dollar like you shopping at walmart and that is really sad. It wasnt always like that. I generally hate thieves but this is one of those cases where I'm glad that there probably won't be any serious consequences. She didn't strike me as a habitual thief, and what she was doing was barely theft. It's old clothing that someone wanted to get rid of and felt better about donating it than just throwing it away. The store paid nothing for it, and the actual transfer of possession is a debatable point. At what point does it become property of the store? Maybe wrong but only barely. The only thing the store would lose was a little bit of potential income, which they wouldn't have gotten is the person donating it hadn't bothered to do so.
