This was the very best of Knight Rider. This is what made me fall in love with this show when I was just 7 years old. Here I am, 22 and still madly in love with this❤
Yeah! I even am writing a fan film script on it. Basically just a slight comedy short film of how civilians would be like, finding these crimes and scenarios, or like short little exchanges. "Who just talked back to that guy?" "No one was in there." "Well I don't care if it's a guy, or the car, still sounds Hot." "...bro, you have a problem."
@@setusername8275 Yeah, bit of a continuity error. As you say, we first see KITT use Turbo Boost during the demolition derby earlier on. And as TheKnightsShield pointed out, the scene with the 2 car thieves too. Yet they act like this is the first time Michael discovers KITT's Turbo Boost function. Most likely cuz this scene along with a few other scenes in the pilot were filmed as part of the NBC presentation before filming the rest of the pilot.
Right at the end of this episode Devon said that Michael had dented him. I always wondered at what point of the episode that apparently would have happened, because K.I.T.T. hardly impacted anything throughout it. It could well have been that truck scene, but I'm guessing it's a bit earlier when he went through the Police car, as that would not have been a clean impact at all, the truck looked like a hot knife through butter.
@@Longlostpuss I used to wonder about that too. I'm sure that going through a semi-trailer was the start of it,...there might've been a weak spot on the frame of the Knight-2000 cause of the rush of getting it finished before giving it to Michael. Oscar - that's because Michael was originally shot in the right shoulder during the jail break, but they added extra scenes to expand the episode and accidentally flipped the sides... the poor editor probably didn't realize the footage he was handed was from two different versions of the same scene!
Oscar - they cut around it a bit and tried to distract with the "bullets are bouncing right off the windshield!" line they dubbed in, but when he climbs into KITT as he's being shot at in the jail, you can see him throw himself back into the seat and grab his shoulder as he's hit. I was born in 1989 & first saw this episode when I was 6.; I've been a fan of 'Knight Rider', ever since. I thought this show had just come out & was sad to read that this show debuted in 1982, instead...
I'm sure I've read somewhere that they actually took the Pontiac engine out of the car and replaced it with the smaller but equally powerful mustang engine to make room for the extra electronics. Of course, that may just be the hero car used for close ups. I imagine it would be too expensive to do that for all of the extra cars, so I imagine the stunt vehicles kept the original Trans-am engine.
what i love about this is they made a toy out of this scene and i use to own it. you can actually make kitt crash through the truck and over the top too. great toy set and love knight rider
Today's computers are basically the same technology as their eighties ancestors, just more refined, but fundamentally the same. The basic principles of the electronic digital computer haven't changed since the fifties. The biggest advancements have been in miniaturisation - so that it's possible to pack more and more computing power into a smaller and smaller physical space - that's why we now have cheap wristwatch sized computers with many thousands of times more computing power than the fastest most expensive supercomputers of forty years ago - but they still work on essentially the exact same principles.
