Excellent video. I wish the string magazines would spend more effort in discussing the physical ailments of violin playing and their solutions. I believe this is a topic you should continue to revisit, with an emphasis on right shoulder problems. Heifetz, Milstein, Perlman, Vengerov all suffered from right shoulder injuries. Thank you! 🙏🏻🎻
@@alexsaldarriaga8318 thank you for the comment! Usually these kind of videos get fewer views on my channel but you just encouraged me not to give up on the this topic. :)
@@Violinna, I’m the 73 year old beginner i told you about. I have a lot of pain between my shoulders when i play violin. I did PT for one month, and it didn’t help much. I didn’t understand that my mid back is weak. I’ll continue exercises, some of these I already do, and I can now add more. I only last about 15 minutes playing at a time, then I must stop and rest. I’d sure like to increase that. I also get professional massage twice a month, one is deep tissue, and the other is gentle shiatsu massage. Thank you very much! You are the consummate violin instructor.
So sorry!! I hope that more musicians can be alleviated of pain!! Have you tried doing these exercises yet (or some modification) for a couple weeks? I don't know your specific situation, but would recommend physical therapy and maybe even a body mapping teacher - sometimes just the setup is the reason...or even just the chair!
@@Violinna I began yesterday your exercises. :) 😀 I tend to have more Middle Back Tension in upper positions. It's like....a "clock" of fear I get.....I know you understand me. Comprende? 🇵🇷

Such a smart and important topic!
Excellent video, Inna! So important to work on strength and flexibility away from the instrument to avoid injuries. Thank you so much!
Thank you, Darlene!
This is really good! Thank you!
Thank you for watching - glad it was helpful! =)
Great video Inna! I always start my practicing with these!
Really?? That's awesome, Kaya!! I know very few players who actually do these!
Gratitude
Thank you so much! At 67 and still playing in an orchestra my back is struggling. I can see how these will help.
You're very welcome! The back is actually the most commonly hurt area for orchestral musicians!

@@nickiemcnichols5397 best of luck!! It's so great that you have regular massage - combined with gentle strengthening exercises will hopefully help.
Such a good way to start your practicing! Dr. Clayton sent me here! 😁I'm a new subscriber!
Thank you, and welcome! =) My regards to Dr. Clayton!
