- I always thought Skullface seemed off. Just his design caught me off guard... like, he has a hole in his head where Venom Snake shrapnel is supposed to be. Why? During Ground Zeroes? Is Ground Zeroes entirely true?

In an Interview in Japan , Hideo Kojima said : "if the player replays the mission "Skull Face" after completing "Truth: The Man Who Sold the World", although the speech Skull Face gave to Big Boss is the same, the subtitles will add quotation marks around "Big Boss"."

It's about paralelism between him and Venom Snake
About what they have in common:
They both lost their faces, identities, free will, they both were hit by some realization about natue of their work:
Skull Face realized that (his commander) Zero is going to control nations, even entire world with use of english, while Venom Snake realized at some point that he is actually just a mental copy of Big Boss (who is also his leader jusf like Zero to Skull Face)
The initial parallels are between Big Boss and Skull Face - he calls himself the other side of Big Boss's coin, the whole FOX/XOF thing they have going on, the fact they both share a close relationship with Zero, both share identical lines of dialogue, both leaders of men who inspire fanatical loyalty, both trying to realise The Boss's will by igniting a cycle of conflict to unite the world. Its like Skull Face is a dark reflection of Big Boss, especially as he keeps referring to them both as 'demons' when he sees Venom Snake as Big Boss throughout the game
However, after learning the truth about Venom Snake, the parallels between Venom Snake and Skull Face are even more apt as you have pointed out. The loss of identity, of their faces, the fact they are the Ahab of their individual stories. If Skull Face is the Moby Dick of Venom's story, the focus of his revenge then the English language or more broadly Zero and the system he wants to implement is the Moby Dick of Skull Face's story. It quickly becomes apparent that Skull Face's similarities with Big Boss are because, like Venom, he is a 'phantom' of Big Boss - or at least he was. Like Venom, Skull Face had worked to spread another man's legacy, another mans meme, to help another mean leave his mark - that being Big Boss during his time in FOX. Their fates even end up somewhat the same with Venom defeated by one of Big Boss's clones, just as Skull Face is defeated by Eli in Salhanthropus (Eli mortally wounds Skull Face before he is finished off by Venom, Kaz, and Huey)
to me, this begs the question if venom is actually venom and not just big boss brainwashed into believing he's a fraud

So some thoughts here. It's already been pointed out that dialogue from Miller doesn't line up from what happened in Peace Walker. He confesses to BB that he knew that Paz was working for Cipher in Peace Walker, but in GZ he reminisces about the fact that he had no idea that that was the case. Many have been lead to believe that the events we play through in GZ are thus a distorted version of events being relived by Venom. Multiple other times you see a lense flare effect at the bottom referencing the use of the IDroid, a device that shouldn't even exist yet. I wonder if every time you see this lense flare, its signaling to you (the player) that something is up and that events youre seeing unfold didnt actually happen that way. I'm not sure what to make of TPP yet, but as a starting place for where this might lead here is a retelling of the actual events of Ground Zeroes.
Paz is discovered to have survived and is detained by members of MSF. She is tortured by Big Boss and Kaz, thus why you hear Kaz's voice actor tell a certain Medic to "give her the shot already" at one point in the Torture tapes. They want the location of Zero and manage to get this information out of her. They then unknowingly to her insert bombs into her body and intend to send her back to Zero in an attempt to kill him. Chico is used throughout the process in order to demoralize her and get her to talk. This psychologically scars Chico and breaks his bond with Big Boss.
While riding a Helicopter back to Mother Base with Paz on board, they then witness Cipher's attack on Mother Base and flee upon realizing that there's no hope in defending it. Upon contact with one of Cipher's helicopters, Paz attempts to jump off the helicopter but instead is blown to bits when an enemy missile hits the side of the Helicopter. Big Boss, Kaz, and the Medic are hospitalized and then the story proceeds into the events of TPP where Venom throughout his awakening is lied to about what had actually happened in GZ.
Venom Snake understands Hungarian without a translator in a scene at the Devil's House. If you have subtitles on, it displays a translation.

Whether it has anything to do with each other or not, it's interesting to note that when you shoot Skullface and the scene resets, it sounds like a camera taking a photo. Something Venom has hanging up all over the ACC.

This is the kind of short-packaged evidence we've needed for years. I'm loving the rate of your videos. I've no idea how fast you're able to make them, but damn you're impressive. One problem with PythonSelkan and others is their videos tend to be feature length videos. That's not to say it's a bad thing, only that people are more likely to take in these kind of videos cause they're short and easy to digest. I knew Skull Face didn't add up, I mean he just comes out of nowhere in Ground Zereos as a supposed pre-established villain seemingly and we're expected to immediately role with it without question. That was the first sign that something with him was off, that in addition to him being about the only villain during Big Boss's era of games where Big Boss and him are never once seen together. Plus there's just how he keeps appearing/disappearing from seemingly thin air throughout The Phantom Pain. He felt like a ghost, like he was a kind of: 'phantom enemy.'
You made some great points! I just hope they are NOT the same person because I dearly love Big Boss and Venom Snake. They are wonderful characters that I've cherished for a while now. I do believe Kojima is hiding something big and it might be revealed in another game or a continuation of MGS5. Lately, he's been leaving hints and clues on just about everything -- even his relationship with Konami!

Seems like everything was a dream/Mantis messed with our heads from the very beginning until the end. Venom never left the hospital bed because he was in a coma/dream state.
He left the hospital that's for sure, but he was sleepwalking the whole time.
It was Ocelot who did that. Shalashaska, the prison torturer.
Why does he seem so friendly the whole game? Like a wholesome cowboy... It's because he is implementing a special torture method on Venom.

So the whole game could be the indoctrination process taking place? That could be a reason why future Metal Gears were never built like the Sahelantropus. Though some events seem to carry over other games.
It could also be the reason why some of the more advanced tech you use in the late game never appeared in other games
It also feels like he mocks BB when he called him, "Boss" when he was upside down during the Honey bee mission. That just seemed weird as Skullface just didn't seem like that type through the game.

I think that Skullface IS Big Boss (also Venom), but not in literal sense. He's both of them together, the suffering they caused and pain through their actions (his?). In Venom's (BB?) mind he is created to dissociate himself from his own evil actions (hence all the hints that DD, XOF, OH, FOX are in reality the same entity, but metaphorically represent different ideas). From the very beginning he sees himself as a demon, his metaphorical horn can get bigger as the game goes on, but it can never go away entirely. He is a demon, but it's actions are represented by Skullface persona and XOF, while FOX and Venom are a cleanup crew. They cause the problem, and then fix it for the biggest bidder creating a war without end. But once Skullface is "removed", we may thing the "war" is over, there's no more purpose... Nothing happens, there's emptiness, but literally next cutscene we can see he is still there, being a part of Big Boss as he alwasy was. The game just isn't supposed to be taken at face value. More like a Silent Hill story with "Volgin" being the games Pyramid Head.

There is only one big boss venom is a hallucination
Ocelot set up the attack on Mother Base in 1975. Skullface had no need or motive to attack Mother Base, nor was he likely present at the attack. Ocelot however, in his lifelong quest to fulfil his mother’s will, had motive to remove the now directionless Big Boss.
At the end of Peace Walker we see Big Boss abandon his own interpretation of the Boss’s will. He no longer believed in the Boss. The hero of GroznyjGrad was gone and instead there was just a mercenary with no direction in his place. Ocelot couldn’t of liked that his idol and the man who was to carry his mother’s legacy had suddenly let it all go. We know both Zero and Sigint were involved in Peace Walker, we don’t know how Ocelot was involved, or even if he was involved. But we do know Ocelot had a long history of secret units (like his own unit in Snake Eater) and we know XOF is a secretive arm of the Patriots and formally part of FOX. We also know they, and Skullface, were not present in Costa Rica. It is my belief that Skullface was enacting his plan to take out Zero during this time and that Ocelot is the one who informed him about Paz (who played a role Ocelot would usually play) and that she knew where Zero was. Ocelot would even promise to deliver Paz and, by extension, Zero to Skullface. For a price.
Big Boss needed to lose MSF, he needed to regain purpose and he needed to become the legendary Naked Snake again, as opposed to some vagabond gun for hire. Ocelot approached Huey, acting as an inspection agency. This ensured he could keep Big Boss off of the base during the attack. Things got out of hand when Big Boss arrived back at base though, ending with the crash that wasn’t supposed to transpire. Skullface wasn’t supposed to try and kill Big Boss via Paz either. Neither of these events factored into Ocelot’s plan.
Ocelot needed Miller out of the picture, however after the botched destruction of Mother Base he couldn’t just have him killed because he would still hold use in the future. That’s why they were separated at the hospital. Ocelot had a golden opportunity to reshape John into the man he should have been. Having Miller around could have ruined the process. Through tapes, hypnotic suggestion, prolonged exposure to ideas in a controlled environment and through Ocelot’s usual methods of drugging and electrotherapy he breaks Big Boss down to the basics, to a canvas he can reshape into the legend he believes Big Boss should be. He kills off the identity of “John” by creating the narrative that he is a separate person.
Miller would be a problem here because he would remind Big Boss of their dream. He could deconstruct Ocelot’s brainwashing of Big Boss. So Ocelot has Miller captured and tortures him severely. We know from MGS and MGS2 that Ocelot was a notorious torturer within the Soviet forces in Afghanistan in the 80s. We know that’s where he got the handle “Shalashaska” and we know he was notorious in the region. We also know the Soviets, with the assistance of the Skulls (a Cipher unit) captured Miller, put a bag over his head, limited his vision with sensual deprivation and then he was tortured for no clear reason. His arm and leg were removed, he was likely reminded constantly about the people who died, who he let down. Ocelot needed to break Miller, to turn him insane. Miller would serve as motivation for the newly revamped Big Boss and would also be key in helping drum up troops to follow the legend once more. Money no longer mattered, revenge did. Miller was so broken and vengeful that he had no inclination to look at what was going on. He never even questioned what Ocelot was doing on Mother Base or how he had gained so much influence over operations there. He didn’t question why Ocelot’s KGB unit were on the base with them.
Ocelot, for his part, did not want to trigger Big Boss’s memory either. So he behaved completely out of character. He acted like a subordinate to a man he basically had to spoon feed. He spent very little time with the rest of Mother Base’s management team, he took it upon himself to DNA test Eli despite MB having a state of the art medical wing. Ocelot couldn’t risk having “Venom” realise he was the real Big Boss because it would possibly trigger a return to his 1975 outlook.
Ocelot is only ever seen behaving like himself away from Big Boss. In front of him he’s this yes man with little personality. He still held Big Boss’s hand and led him down certain paths. The head trauma Big Boss suffered left him in an already damaged and incoherent state so it wasn’t hard for Ocelot to take control from the background.
For the lie to be complete Ocelot decides to trigger Big Boss’s belief he isn’t the original. After the breakdown over Paz it became clear to Ocelot that he needed to advance the illusion to cement the idea. As far as ‘Venom’ and Miller needed to know, the man who gave up on the Boss was gone, he was off somewhere starting some fruitless adventure as a complete nobody. But he’d left a message for ‘Venom’. “You’re Big Boss, he is the both of us together”. He was no longer Big Boss, rather, Big Boss was no longer John. Big Boss was a story that would unite the world. The way Ocelot believed his mother had wanted. An icon to unify under that didn’t have a nation, a religion, an economic or sociological model. A man who would fight for what he believed in whilst risking his life for others. Not some money driven war criminal, but a hero. Not an enemy of the times like the Big Boss of 1975, but an icon of the times, like the Big Boss who stopped Nuclear annihilation time and again in the 60s and early 70s. Ocelot could never be the man to carry out his mother’s will in the public eye, he was too far gone by the time he understood. But Big Boss could be that person.
We know there was no limit to how far Ocelot would go to see the Boss’s vision realised. Between him and Solid Snake it finally was. Big Boss at the end of everything had regained himself, and probably held onto a bit of his mental doppelganger too. As he made peace with his clone at the end of his life he realised why Ocelot had acted the way he did, and how when his Venom Snake plan fell through Ocelot had decided to put himself through the same ordeal. Ocelot really did carry out the Boss’s will, at the sacrifice of his own name, image, legacy and life. Just like his mother before him.

Maybe skull face is all apart of the virtual simulation, that venom snake is seeing… via predictive programming and hypnotic suggestions…in this video, when you pointed out , that skull face says the same things that big boss once said to Chico… the only people that know that to be true are us as the audience, from playing or watching the peace walker game.. and venom as the phantom of the real big boss..it seems as if Kojima was trying to do to us (as the audience) , the same way he did to venom,…basically making us the second phantom, while Venom is the first phantom, because he is the protagonist of the game, but we are the second phantom , as the audience, because we are playing the game… but it’s all some type of simulation in a since..it’s like some type of a double (simultaneous) hypnotic state, that’s occurring between us as players and venom as the main protagonist …but it’s all based off big bosses real encounters and memories…
Youre spot on with this theory, someone made a reddit post a long time ago that made me fish and i finally connected the pieces together, the secret lies with Paz at motherbase, Miller explains that nothing conflicts with her internal timeline, thats the secret, if we move the timeline to early 2000s everything then makes sense. Venom Snake is indeed the Phantom and not real, but Skull face is real, bear in mind, for Skullface to exist, he had to have been already burnt in MG2, so phantom pains timeline is after MG2 but before MGS1
No, actually skullface was venom. And venom is the true big boss. How can you protect a person by making him believe he's another guy? Also, in truth ending. True big boss runs away in the back with the jacket with the diamond dogs logo? When he's msf? What we are seeing here, is that venom, is the real boss, and the mg2 boss, the true big boss, is actually venom. Because how can you explain mgs4 big boss without burnts?

Big Boss was using MSF as a front. He and Kaz were actually both harboring secret motives during Peace Walker. They both, however, were united in seeing Zero as their enemy at the end of the game, and after the ZEKE incident, things started happening that aren't entirely clear in Ground Zeroes...
Kaz can be heard on one of the first interrogation tapes made with Paz, saying "Give her the shot," and it's not clear why it's him, but it's him. This is because Big Boss and Kaz recovered Paz's body from the ZEKE wreck, and lo and behold, she wasn't dead. Big Boss was already secretly running XOF behind the scenes, and likely had been doing it since 1964, so he probably already had a secret base up and running at Guantanamo. Zero likely didn't have much influence there, as that was Big Boss's whole game--he was trying to dethrone Zero. So, he knows that Paz had visited Zero in New York before Peace Walker, and he wanted that intel, so he tortured her to get it. However, Boss and Kaz needed to know if there were any other spies for Zero on MSF's base, so they let it leak that they had captured Paz, hoping that the intel would lure out any potential Cipher agents. What they lured out...was Chico.
So, Kaz probably left Camp Omega after recovering Paz's body and went back to Mother Base to keep up appearances while Boss tortured Paz. Meanwhile Chico was supposed to be sent away, but somehow he slipped past everyone and made it to Camp Omega. So....Big Boss assumed Chico was working with Cipher. Of course, Chico just was in love with Paz, but Boss didn't know this for sure at first I think. They probably tortured Chico pretty good and subjected him to who-knows-what, and all this was probably done without Kaz having a clue. Kaz, meanwhile, was playing his part in this whole scheme by getting the Medic (player 2 from PW's campaign) to put on a Big Boss mask and go to Camp Omega to "rescue" Paz and Chico. In this way, MSF could maintain its deniability and keep working as a front. This is where Big Boss double-crossed Kaz, though, by rigging the base to blow. And it's really important that Skull Face says to Chico, "How's it feel to play the traitor?" He says *play* the traitor. He knows Chico has been captured and confessed intel before, so Boss knows he can claim that Chico gave up intel on MSF's base, and this allowed "Skull Face" to get his men on to MSF's base, when in fact Boss never needed that intel from Chico to double-cross MSF. This just gave him an excuse to pin the double-cross on Chico, basically.
Then he implanted the archaea in Chico's head and set him up to be blown up in the explosion with Kaz, Medic, Paz, and whoever else was caught in Morpho. But Paz was also a parasite holder, thus she and Chico wouldn't have died in the explosion, like Skull Face they would have these abilities to defy death, and would have probably "re-grown" after enough time. All you have to do is mirror Chico's face. You can see his patch lines up exactly with Venom's archaea horn, the implant that Big Boss put in him as some kind of messed up torture in an attempt to turn Chico into a monster. This is why Chico sees Skull Face as missing that specific part--because Chico knows the horn implanted in him is like an alien, a parasite put in him from a host, Big Boss, Skull Face. So, Venom, Chico sees himself as if he is Skull Face exactly because of all this, but they are definitely two separate people. In this same way Venom also sees himself as if he is the Medic, but Ahab and Ishmael are, once again, definitely two separate people. Ishmael isn't Skull Face, of course, Ishmael is the Medic. Ishmael went on all the Peace Walker missions, so this is why he goes by "Vic" Boss.
Did you know, in 1922, there was an organization founded in Hungary with the goal of providing a sense of belonging to those Szekelys who were displaced by the war at the time? Szekelys are from a place also known as Transylvania. The organization was named, abbreviated, SZEFHE, prounounced "Sie-fuh." The most popular band in Hungary's history is (arguably) a prog rock band named Omega.
Go back and rewatch the ending Jeep scene between Skull Face and Venom Snake, with the knowledge that both of them are aware of who the other is and that both know they aren't fooling the other. Skull Face was Transylvanian, and Transylvania ceased to exist right after he was born, when Hungary annexed it in 1940.
Mantis is present in every scene with Skull Face because Zero's plan was to have FOXHOUND assassinate Big Boss after he had gone rebel and stood against Zero in 1975. Psycho Mantis was created in 1986 by combining the parasite strains of The Sorrow and Volgin and implanting them in Tretij while he was probably inside the reactor at Chernobyl (radiation denatures the parasite and halts further mating, freezing it with its current abilities and rendering them unable to produce new abilities), and then the boy was sent to Dhekelia to aid in Venom's awakening, all under the close hand of Ocelot. Ocelot was Zero's major player in the fight against Big Boss, and Ocelot had to do a lot to earn Big Boss's trust. In '86 or so, Ocelot gave Psycho Mantis to Big Boss, or perhaps helped him capture him, but eventually the idea was to have Eli come along while Mantis is being controlled by Boss, and then Eli would be able to snatch Mantis from Boss (due to the younger age thing) which allowed Zero to finally finish off Big Boss.
Compare the concept art of Big Boss from MGS4 where he's the undead torso in a kind of sarcophogus to the end we see Skull Face meet. That's Skull Face.
Big Boss's beard growth pattern also drastically change from PO to PW.
You're right however Chico is dead, skullface is the medic, but during the helicopter crash he was burned and became skullface and was moved to Cyprus hospital, venom and skullface has same scars on forehead, they both can't talk to each other at same time.
Skullface always comes and vanishes out of nowhere, psycho mantis is always present, venom snake is the programmed version they implemented into skullface's head, he sees himself as big boss but he's not.
Psycho mantis creates illusions, the jeep ride is merely skullface talking/thinking with himself, that's why venom never says a word.
And why skullface literally spares venom at every encounter also doesn't make sense, big boss/Kaz planted the bomb in paz to send her back to zero and kill him, they went back to MSF and were surprised cipher was attacking the base and they escaped.
They had already extracted the bomb from paz but their helicopter crashed because of an RPG fired from the other helicopter that was following them, cipher was behind it.

We also know Kaz was working for Skullface. He was there when Paz had the bombs implanted.
Part 2: The Phantom Pain. Zero devises a ruse in which he sets the Medic up to be brainwashed and turned into Big Boss's mental copy. While it's easy enough to think that he stopped there, I think this is wear the whole existence of Skullface is engineered. I believe that Skullface is either just an operator playing the part in service to Cipher or more likely an intentional illusion created via Psycho Mantis. We hear the mayday call talking about the plane he was on crashing, but we don't actually see this happen. We witness it the same way we are led to believe other convenient truths: through audio transmission. Given precise stats as to how wide Psycho Mantis's field of influence is, we are then told later that the flight that Mantis crashed was way farther away than his field of influence should project. Mantis is the same person who performed mental dives on unwilling Foxhound members during MGS1 in order to brainwash them into joining Liquid's insurrection. Zero using Mantis to help turn Venom into the perfect messiah would have almost worked; Ocelot I believe is the person who implanted the "truth" in Venom in order to undermine his plan.
Miller is told by Ocelot from the start MGSV that Venom isnt actually Big Boss. Sprinkle in some convenient assets already in Cipher's possession like the Vocal Cord Parasites from the days of the Philosopher's experimentation and give Dr. Emmerich a false allibi in return for the promise of his safety by Cipher and then BAM you have the conflicts that had arises in TPP. Remember how they had trouble interrogating Emmerich? Sigint (although technically Decoy Octopus) alludes to the fact that you can be made resistant to torture through psychic shielding. The Skulls? Just results of experimentation with the Cobra's parasite.
All in all, we ARE in fact shown Big Boss's fall from grace. He adopts the idea of child soldiers and working as a PMC in Peace Walker. We witness him torture and silence Paz, attempt to kill Zero in a pretty scummy way, and break Chico as a person. We then see him come full circle, manipulating one of his subordinates in order to cover for himself. These are all things that I could have seen the MSX Big Boss do. These are the actions of a villain. Do I think that Zero showed him some reverence? Of course; he did for the most part pretty much save his skin. That doesn't excuse BBs actions, though.
I will never understand why people think that the confession about venom not being the true big bss happen at the start if this was true and miller knew the truth then why the fuck he himself orders a dna test with eli and venom if he already knows the truth

The real big boss may be currently captured by psycho mantis during the events of Ground zeroes and phantom pain… and we the audience get to play through what’s going on in big bosses head as he is currently under some type of spell from a young psycho mantis…maybe …and that means that venom and skull face are both phantom pains of the original big boss..

Plus, I wouldn’t get how big boss would order a hospital attack on himself when he just woke up. Why kill one of your most trusted person, “Venom”?

You make some good points. Personally, I think it's just being done to make him a foil to snake. Something to give him common ground and make him a more interesting character for you to deal with.
But I cant see him being the original big boss. Just dosnt feel right to me is all.
Making him a foil is one thing, having him randomly becoming a seemingly pre-established villain with the same lines as Big Boss every now and then is another entirely. In addition, I feel that I can explain. My view on MGSV is that it's history shaped by The Patriots, Big Boss being a mentally depicted as Skull Face is cause that's how The Patriots wanted the world to see Big Boss. As a monster, as a demon. Until of course you learn at the end of MGS4 that Big Boss wasn't the bad guy perceived all along. It was all just propaganda designed by The Patriots.
Very thought provoking actually. Especially the little similarities which I thought were just Japanese silliness in typical fashion. Like FOX and XOF. But then what about Skullface's interactions with BB in GZ? And his interrogation and torture of PAZ. If this really is true, then Venom really is fucked. On many levels. And furthermore... what does that mean? Venom/Diamond Dogs' top combat medic was doing things behind the scenes in Ground Zeroes? That's stretching it. However, I do have to say the ending makes a lot more sense. Even though a proper, badass CQC boss fight with Skull Face still would've been better, even if he is a hallucination. But then what did Huey shoot? The ground? The similarities are too specific and too strong to be coincidences, though. I have to say, this is really eye opening.
After watching entire video (great video btw) I think that originally Skullface was supposed to be either Big Boss Or Venom Snake when they planned MGS V plot but they changed it for some reason (maybe too many plot holes) and these are only the leftovers from original script. Remember that this game is unfinished and missing entire chapter.

While I don’t completely agree with Big Boss and Skull Face being the same person they do have some similarities that are too good to ignore besides sharing the same quotes their pasts are pretty similar. If we look at the “unofficial” official bio for Big Boss he is a Japanese American who lost his family in the Pearl Harbor attack Skull Face lose his family in a similar way. Another thing could hint at something is Big Boss’s name we argue over John or Jack the name John Doe is for an unknown male or someone to remind anonymous in a sense Big Boss could be our “ghost without a past” however there is evidence that shows him and Venom are also the same person digoxin is a type of heart medicine that was once used for people who have suffered heart attacks or other heart issues as far as we know nothing is wrong with Venom’s heart but we know that Big Boss had a heart attack after GZ as well as other evidence but I’ll leave it at that great video :)

If you focus on sahalanthropus scene you'd see that skullface already escapes in the jeep with his soldiers, his death was just subconscious imagination derived by psycho mantis.

True, but Skullface is Venom snake he has same scar on his head like venom, both of them understand Hungarian without translator (Devil's house mission), and both of them use same helicopter and if you see Skullface's base OKB zero you'll notice diamond dogs containers and Skullface's pilot is pequad, cipher is the one who attacked the hospital and MSF, XOF/FOX is commanded by big boss and venom snake/skullface.
I think the diamond dog containers could be reused models from the game being rushed but it is established after the credits when miller is talking to ocelot that "the day when you come back to cipher"xof was in alliance with cipher and kaz did know about professor galvez and paz plan in peace walker so why he would come back to the organization that betrayed him?

All i know is big boss is big boss from mg3 named after the final battle and he in ground zeroes was in a mission to rescue paz and chico and in the attack of mother base where (metal gear survive) event takes place he and kaz and the medic and paz and chico are crashed in a explosion by rpg in missle after paz threw herself into the ocean.

Great video but There’s way too many discrepancies... for example peace walker happened and at the time there was no venom then. Also the explosion on the chopper takes place b4 the hospital so why would big boss do that to Paz then get on the same chopper?
They already removed the bomb when they found out that cipher was attacking MSF and escaped, the reason big boss's helicopter crashes because the other helicopter that was tailing them fires an RPG on them, big boss intended to send paz with the bomb to zero through MSF to kill him but the plan didn't work.
Then they used skullface/the medic as a phantom and desperately programmed him to be big boss's double

@@aliforeman1819 well I've read that big boss was part of cipher until he found out zero took part of his DNA to clone him which made him pissed and he left, snake was allowed to create MSF but then zero wanted to force snake back by making paz blackmail him into joining back (peace walker events), this made big boss real angry, so he tortured paz in the blacksite camp omega and they announced that they captured her to lure any other agents to come save her, Chico was found and tortured as well.
That's why Chico freaks out when big boss comes to "rescue" him, ground zeroes events aren't completely true as its a dream sequence and part of the programming that was implemented on skullface. The events are a bit distorted

Snake used Chico to demoralize Paz and make her talk so that she tells them where zero is, then they planted the bomb inside her in camp omega but when they returned they saw MSF getting attacked by cipher and decided to run away, they extracted the bomb out of her, there was no second bomb. The truth is there was another cipher helicopter tailing them and they fired a missle against them then we proceed to MGSV TPP events, where we play as skullface/venom snake who was burned and programmed to be Big Boss, skullface says he's always been the other side of big boss's coin.

The main reason they share the same quotes and with Venom morphing into Skullface in the trailer is because there's a popular thing in fiction called 'suspension of disbelief'. Kojima isn't trying to communicate to us they're the same person. Rather he is using the suspension of disbelief to thematically demonstrate how mirrored these characters are, since Skullface has always been the other side of the coin to Big Boss. XOF to FOX. They have similar ideals and had their circumstances and backgrounds been swapped around, Skullface could've just as easily ended up as Big Boss, and Big Boss as Skullface. None of these characters are the same person. Skullface died in Afghanistan. Huey killed him. Perhaps you should rewatch his death scene?

In the cutscene right before, where Salhalanthropus is chasing Venom snake, when the tanks and military vehicles are pulling up to Metal Gear Sally, you can literally see Skull Face driving away in a jeep filled of XOF soldiers. If you are having trouble seeing it it’s on the far right side, it’s very easy to miss. Investigating the cutscene in free cam confirms that it’s skull face in that jeep, and he does indeed drive to safety
The only way this makes any sense is by rationalizing all this, which would basically mean skull face flees in a Jeep, then teleports himself and the samples of the English vocal parasite in front of metal gear sally, so he can then be crushed. It really doesn’t make sense if you view it 100% literally as seen
There’s a lot of small details like that in the cutscenes of this game, another one is despite not having a Hungarian translator, Venom snake can understand Hungarian during the devils house mission, which just so happens to be skull faces native language…

Skull face is not big boss anyone who played mgs4 knows that, skull face is what we all fear he is just a throw away character with little to no depth a hollow villain ithe potential was there but I suspect maybe the games troubling development damaged the writing
Sadly this not case.. the theory would been good if you came out before the phantom pain but Skullface was still killed in The Phantom Pain (because of Huey with all people.) while Big Boss still lived on for original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake. So nope.. but it would be interesting to see later on (if konami does remake metal Gear 1 or metal gear 2 solid snake) that he worked with Skull face and planned this.

Huey couldn't kill Skullface, because his legs require a power source, which is chaining him to the lab. Also the timing is wrong (he pick and load the gun in a second).
Watch Paz secret scenes. In his hallucinations Venom can add any character: Paz, Ocelot, Miller... So we can't trust any scene in the story.
Also Paz said, that she is "one phantom limb that will be gone for good", which could mean, that there are other phantoms who are still with Venom.
Remake metal gear without the ret@rded guillable solid snake, would be great to play as skull face instead
