When we decide to make a 180 switch in our lives for the better, there is a GAP inbetween our old life and the life we want. We have to remain in this gap for some time, through discomfort, through change, most importantly through growth. It can be easy to go back to your old ways here because people will try drag you back. But you got to stay grounded and connected to the bigger picture. It'll all pay off. (Reminding myself here)

I quit smoking marijuana yesterday after years of being a constant consumer! The shit was flat out holding up my life! Felt like I was going deeper down the rabbit hole of not feeling fulfilled and using the weed as a crutch to be ok with not being ok. Well.. yesterday I decided enough was enough. I am tired of watching my life go by!! Tired of showing up half ass for my kids, always in survival mode, over productive, essentially attempting to escape the pain I’ve endured for many years. My heart has turned cold. I feel emotionless most of the time towards everything except for my kids and other immediate family members. The time has come for a change. A new way of living , breathing, existing!! I wish everyone on this feed major victory in your transformation. We only have one life to live, but if we live it right, then one time is enough. I wanna encourage everyone to remain optimistic and excited about your life regardless of what your current circumstances look like! You’ve got this!💪🏽

You've got this!! I can certainly resonate. Been trying to break away from the regular use of cannabis for the last couple of months now. God delivered me from it mid last year, however, I found myself sliding again toward the end of last year. Trying to truly ask myself why I feel the need to consume and what in my life is it even "replacing". I don't quite have the answer, yet I know that revelation is right on the other side of prayer and trusting God. God already gave you power over your flesh. He's already delivered you from the thing you're trying to walk away from. Stand firm in your God-given power and authority and declare the enemy's scheme a complete and utter FAIL. You've already won! Phil, loved this ep. so much. Powerful message and your transparency is always appreciated!

Phil every year you crash after the holidays. Yes the holidays are a very hurtful time of the year. For us who have lost parents. That's why there has to be full preparation, before the holidays get here. An organized plan to stay ahead of the grief and pain.
That’s a very interesting observation and so true. And what’s so powerful about what your saying is that the enemy attacks aren’t new! We have to be more aware of patterns and cycles.
Good insight from both of you! Reminds me of 1 Cor. 10:13 and 2 Cor. 2:11 - we aren’t ignorant to the attacks used against us. But Proverbs 21:5 is how we find success against such attacks. We got this!

this comment really brought tears to my eyes. i dont know what the grief of losing a parent is like and i thank God every day for that. but for some reason i can empathize so much with those who do, and ive always had this ache in my heart when it comes to thinking about how that must be forever affecting Phil. i pray often that God blesses him with a wife who will give him a beautiful family, in-law parents to call his own, so he can know what true family feels like once more
@@poeticflowerz yea, I lost my father in 9th grade, he was only 30! But what’s interesting about this every holiday thanksgiving, Christmas, and new year I struggle with deep depression! And what’s crazy is looking at Phil’s eyes. When looking at him I saw myself that’s exactly how I feel. I strongly believe maybe he should try therapy. That’s what I’m doing to process and alleviate the pain. But it happens every holiday. Leading me back to bad habits patters, and vicious cycles.
Give yourself some grace.

The grief that comes with growth and unlearning things that were programmed into our minds and bodies for 20, 30 or 40 years is seriously the most challenging and rewarding experience. Understanding the duality of it being ok to miss the old but also have the strength to move forward has been the biggest realization. I am sure many of us are experiencing similar situations and as always, Phil, continue to be a vessel for God. Motivating and encouraging your supporters through your transparency.
Sorry but shut up, from 25 and up everything is a choice, for example you know that weekly clubbing is not the smartest choice but your friend pulling you.
Start learning to think for yourself and stop caring what other think about you.

I feel like we so much alike especially when we need to get our mental right. I just want you to know and i can tell just from reading your comments you have built such a strong genuine following. Don’t ever feel alone, i want to say you don’t have to isolate and cut the world off but its EXACLY what i do and i feel its so necessary at times. I can honestly say we all need excitement, love and socialization. I am now working on including new activities, career choices , opening up and not getting stuck in comfort.
