This is a perfect video. (My first time running across your channel.) I absolutely appreciate that you put the book on the screen as you begin to speak about the book rather than (as many reviewers do) talk about the book and then flash the book on the screen at the end of your analysis. I also enjoyed listening to your succinct reviews because you knew what you wanted to say and then said it. :) I've read many of the books you reviewed, but some of these titles are new to me. Those that intrigued me have been placed on my tbr list. Thank you. I've subscribed.
This is so kind! I do always keep the book cover up on the screen while I go over my thoughts. My reviews aren’t always this succinct but I had a lot to fit in this video. Glad you enjoyed! Thank you so much for commenting
Your account popped up on my suggested and I’m glad I clicked on you. Loved hearing your thoughts! We agreed on a few and disagreed on a couple. Saw some to add to my TBR. You are enjoyable to watch and listen to. You are beautiful as well!
So excited to see I Who Have Never Known Men at the top of your list because it’s such an anticipated read for me! If I can find a copy, hopefully I’ll read it this year 🤞 looking forward to your 2025 tbr!
I just found your channel and really enjoyed your thoughtful reviews. I’ve read several of your favorites and more were already on my TBR. It made me so happy to see A Psalm for the Wild Built on your list. It’s so gentle, hopeful, and soothing, and has become one of my all time favorites. ❤ Edited to add: All the Colors of the Dark and James were my fiction books of 2024.
Thank you for this comment 💛 Gentle is a great word to describe A Psalm for the Wild Build. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book. I desperately want to read both James and All the Colors of the Dark! So happy to hear you loved them
I just found your channel on U2B and you are NOW my new favourite blogger. You give substance to your discussion and sincere reflection of the books. Thanks for your review.
I’m very curious to try some of the books on this list that I haven’t read yet, because as you said we share some favorites! And your top pick is not my typical genre either, but I loved it. So I feel like I might find some good recs in here. Or proof of shared icks haha! And I appreciate so much that you say the writing is bad in some of these. I don’t think I’ve read any of the ones you said that about, but some people seem so afraid of saying that or think it’s mean or something. I don’t know how to discuss a book without commenting on the writing… like that’s the book! 😂 And it doesn’t mean the author is bad, I just think the book should have been worked on a bit more before publishing. Or it was fine, but let’s not pretend it was the writing that saved it… Great list, and great video, I was engaged the whole way through. Which is a feat with a list that long! 😅
Sometimes I do feel guilty saying that the writing is bad in a book, but I have no idea how to give a genuine book review if I do have strong thoughts on it! Thanks for watching all the way through 🤗 means so much!
@@mansreads Yeah I get that, but also, how else do you separate the really good writing? Or give trustworthy reviews? No need to be mean or personal about it, of course, but some things are just lower quality, and I think the same applies to books and writing.
Yesss, I'm here for mixed reviews all over booktube so I can get a full comprehensive review on what to think about the books. 😂 OMG, but what you thought about Iron Flame... now I'm scared to start it. I gotta be honest, I was irritated about the first book but I love the world and dragons so I'm trying... but if this falls off, I might just DNF the series. Will be watching your video about The Women after I read it because it's very highly praised, and I have the physical book so I need to read it 😅 Am I adding How TO End a Love Story on my TBR because of your comment? Uhm. Yes. 🤪 Yours Truly, JFTS, PoYW & Divine Rivals though, I know you're going to be some of my relate-able booktubers because SAME. I felt so similar to Jacob. I will say my favorite might be JFTS because of how everything connected. I also agree so much with Happy Place as well! I'm also going to be adding They Never Learn because I'm here for revenge 🤭 I had to skip IWHNKM because I wanted to read it as part of my 25 in 2025 but per Ellen's rec to NOT know anything about it. But you having it as 1st means I'm SO READYYY. Fiction list for me might be Beartown, and The Dragon's Republic!
You should Iron Flame a chance if you really enjoyed Fourth Wing! Several people close to me had a great time with it. I, however, will not be continuing on with the series. I will be looking up spoilers for Onyx Storm though lol cause I want to know what happens without having to read it. The Women is not bad by any means! When you watch the vlog, you’ll see the issues I had with it. I like the idea of knowing nothing about IWHNKM before picking it up! And I’ve really got to get going with Dragon’s Republic!
Oof starting out with a hot take indeed 😳😂 I would have to agree with your thoughts though! Lisa Jewell isn’t generally my cup of tea either but I did like None of This is True. I also have a hard time with repetition in books, which I discovered while reading The Midnight Library! Six of Crows hurts a bit but I get it, hahaha. Had the same experience with Yours Truly! Seven Days in June and JFTS, top ten for me for sure 😍 And you know I agree about Fredrik Backman!! I can’t wait to read the Mistborn series this year! And definitely want to read your number 1 pick this year as well, I didn’t realize it was written in the 90’s!
I'm happy that so many of my picks resonated with you! I am really excited for Backman's 2025 release 😃 Definitely give that number 1 pick a try! And don't let my thoughts on SoC hurt haha- I am so the outlier there. Thanks for watching!
I love that you are a diverse reader. You definitely introduced me to books I never would have considered.
Appreciate that! I definitely do not stick to any one genre

This is an incredibly kind comment, thank you so much 😊 Made my morning!
I really enjoyed watching this. I was basically on the edge of my seat for your top 10 😂 I enjoyed Bright Young Women as well!
It was so good 😊 Thank you for this kind comment and for watching!

I don't know why I feel this way, but I really do think you'll enjoy IWHNKM quite a bit!

That’s super kind of you to say!
not me spending half this video trying to find out if that is "ask again, yes" on the shelf behind you!
😂 You were right! I just unhauled it in my recent video though so it’s no longer there
As soon as you said re-read as your #4. I knew it was Evelyn hugo. I will definitely be re-reading as well!
how did you know?! and yay! love that book
@mansreads I had a feeling because I love that book so much and I've learned many other people do as well 😊

Dark matter and the girl with a dragon tattoo have been on my radar for awhile!
I’ll be curious to see how you feel about each of them!
I think we have similar taste in books and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you read Chain Gang Allstars
You don’t have to tell me twice! I’m sold. Have heard great things, and it’s been on my radar for a while. Excellent reminder 😃
The girl with the dragon tattoo is a trilogy and you should read more because it is getting better and better trust me.
I have the entire trilogy, so definitely planning on it. My partner raves about the second two books. Im sold!
I loved I who have never known men. If you loved it have you read Men without women? Its really good too.
I haven't! I'm super intrigued though
Love and other words haters rise!!
there are others out there?!
Not a romance guy… 🤢. But I added a couple you listed to my TBR. Thanks. :)
I hope you enjoy those picks!
