My name is Kaiya Pelletier and I am documenting my metal journey as I discover and listen to metal music for the first time ever. I'm in my mid 20's and I've been a singer songwriter and performer for over 10 years. Currently I live in Stillwater, Oklahoma and I am in the process of recording my 4th album. I have a Bloodhound named Spooner, I love Mexican food, collecting Stephen King novels, collecting CD's and cassettes and my favorite movies are tied between Jurassic Park and Alien.

I love chelsea wolf. Hiss Spun, Abyss, and Blood Moon are the metal records you are looking for. Her acoustic album is really good too.

Each Chelsea Wolfe album fits into a different niche (though it all sounds like her). Definitely give her another chance. Hiss Spun is probably her heaviest album. Try The Birth of Violence or Unknown Rooms for her acoustic stuff.

Wow, you went in hard on Chelsea Wolfe haha. I actually preordered the album and have loved everyhing she has ever done, might not be metal but i think she is amazing
The album Chelsea did with Converge (Blood Moon) is more metal for sure but I highly recommend you check out her albums Abyss and Hiss Spun for the heavier stuff. Her album Apokalypsis from 2011 is amazing in my opinion but it's not metal either!

I've got really high hopes for that Spectral Voice album. That cavernous sort of death/doom is exactly my jam, and their first album was a beast.

Chelsea Wolfe - Hiss Spun from 2017 might be the album you’re looking for. You’ll probably still hate it though haha. It’s doom/grunge. But it did come out before Billie even thought about recording a full album.

I love Chelsea Wolfe's older albums, but I thought this new one was a little bland. Maybe it'll grow on me with repeated listens, but I can definitely hear why it turned you off.
Borknagar's best albums are the first two they did with Kristoffer Rygg on vocals. The other albums are good too, but they never quite recaptured the same magic as before. I'm probably biased though since Rygg is one of my favorite vocalists.
Hi girl how u doing ? I don´t think Chelsea Wolfe is boring. Her music is so dark, atmispheric, i dont know maybe not metal at all, but she is a very good artist.

Bro...Youre doing yourself an absolute disservice if you haven't checked out Avatar (the band) And for whatever reason America is being very slow with them. While they are killing it in Europe. They are easily one of the best metal bands on the planet. Dirt Im Buried In is their current single I think.
i'd call spectral voice more meditative than depressive. it's a disappointing album though especially after a 5 year wait. it sounds kind of rushed/unfinished. it's much sparser than the debut. for half the album the guitar is just making bell dong sound effects or holding a ringing out powerchord. i like tracks 2 and 4 a lot more than 1 and 3.
