I like the debut record of this band from Texas called Mean Mistreater. They are old-school style hard rock/heavy metal in thee vein of early Crüe and W.A.S.P. with a killer vintage production job!

That Wandering Oak album came out of left field for me. I was listening with half an ear and a times thought it sounded like Akercocke - Especially the 2nd half of the album - Definitely not what I was expecting but I loved it.

I am pretty stoked for the new Darkspace release. They are some of the best in the Atmospheric Black Metal scene in my opinion.
I was scrolling these comments, just hoping someone else would comment before I got to doing it. Absolutely agree. This release has been a decade in the making. I'm actually shocked a well known channel like this picked up on this extreme underground project. I've had the snippets released by their label on repeat. Anyway, it's cool to engage another huge fan. If you have not already, I highly recommend you check out the interviews of Wroth/Tobias conducted on Dev Gohil's channel. Truly amazing to watch...first time he's been on video.
The main album I'm looking forward to this month is Echoes of Light by Chapel of Disease.
Their last record is one of my favourites and gets constant playtime. Love the mix of 70s Rock riffs and DM vocals. A perfect blend. Can't wait for it!!

Double Black Diamond is definitely going to be a descriptor that sticks with me. Ski slope rating is actually pretty clever for extreme metal listenability.

If you haven't already, check out the new Theophonos album "Ashes in the Huron River" this Friday. It's the new project from the guy behind the avant-garde mathy black metal band Serpent Column, and he continues that style with Theophonos with some extra hardcore influence. The debut last year, "Nightmare Visions" was great!
Motorowl is releasing This House Has No Center on Feb 16, definitely psyched about that.

Morbid Saint, Swallowed by HELL
Petrification sounds fuckin awesome, music kinda reminds me of Ossuarium which is great because they had my favorite release from that 2019 glut of OSDM and they're the only one of those bands that broke up. Both bands are from Portland which has me wondering if there is some crossover between the two
