A character note I really love is that both of the Inui sisters have the same nervous habit: when they're frightened or stressed, they grab their hair in both fists. You saw Shinju do it last ep as she was being introduced, and we see Juju do it as she crouches, shivering, in the stairwell. It's just a neat similarity between the two.
Definitely my favorite ep of this show. I also thought the same thing you did regarding it being a beach ep versus how other animes handle beach ep. If you want another romcom that is just as good as this one imo. Please consider checking out Dangers in My Heart from last season. Its absolutely adorable!! Its got its weird and questionable moments similar to this show but the characters, writing and omg the music are top tier!
12:12 Yeah our culture (Australian) is pretty beach heavy so anyone born in Australia has at least been to it once in their lives. It might also be Gojo"s family circumstances as both his parents are gone and it is just his grandfather and extended family (His cousin, uncle and possible Aunt) left.
Gojo and Marin live in Saitama, which is a landlocked prefecture north of Tokyo. By the scene’s backdrop, the beach that they went to is one close to Enoshima island in Kanagawa, so it took them approximately 2 hours and 15 or 20 minutes, one way. For people living there, it makes more sense to just go to a pool rather than the beach.
No one ever points out that Gojo was freaked out about sharing food with Marin because it’s “ an indirect kiss” but here on the beach he shares his burger with Marin because the bird stole hers. But he eats it after Marin takes her bites first. So he “ indirect kisses “ her anyway. 😅
