He wouldn't live too long unless the pyrophlastic flow is slow because the ash clouds would create a thick cement like filling in his lungs that would kill him even before getting near the volcano as the ashes are full of toxins and harmful Carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide also it would be boiling hot as the ash clouds would carry high heat :)

Having kept RBPs for years, I can say that they are skittish than aggressive. I had absolutely no worries while cleaning their aquarium as they'd always huddle to the other end and avoid contact.
Meanwhile my Jaguar cichlid would love to chase and chomp down, nearly lost a finger to the fella.
Red Belly Piranhas seem tough but are actually sissies
Most piranhas are actually docile and harmless. It's the red-bellied piranhas you have to watch out for.

Very interesting watch. I am wondering if the piranhas were simply scared as they seemed to band together. Only after a few seconds did they seem to relax.

By nature, piranhas are actually timid fish. Captive specimens like these have less hunting instinct than wild ones. Pretty normal for them.
I was thinking the same when I saw them stucking together in one corner. It even looked like the behavior of domestic guinnea pigs, when every individual tries to push it self in the center if scared.

Fun fact: Piranha's are more scavengers than they are predators. Whilst they might bite when seriously threatened, they do not like biting anything warm blooded or "alive". There's a reason they skitter about, it's to avoid biting each other. They really only eat thing that are already dead.

Not sure about that. Fishes need to be super full not to bite something edible. They eat all the time, its really easy to overfeed fish. I think piranha, like most animals, just don't hunt for too big "prey" as its more than likely that they will become prey. I think its more than likely that the piranha just don't risk attacking such a large creature. The rare piranha related attacks and even more rare deaths, are usually bites bleeding out. Which suggests that the agitated piranha bites, then tries to escape from the much larger animal.
Piranha diet is one google click away, and it seems like they feed on stuff smaller than them.

I've been watching this channel for six years and the videos weren't ever safe and aren't getting safer
I used to be a manager at an aquarium shop, I on occasion had to scrub and clean the piranha tank, they wanted nothing to do with me. Lol. Now with that said, I own a 12 inch Oscar Cichlid named Ozzy, he tries to bite me all the time, and he has drawn blood, doesn’t really hurt, but he can be intimidating. Anyway Fish are awesome. Great episode, happy to be a member.
lol same! I've been bitten by my Oscar too while I cleaned his tank. Didn't draw blood but left a mark and some redness.
I like to think of most animals as more complicated than people tend to think. Sure, some are more likely to be aggressive, but just about all animals with even a shred of intelligence are going to have a personality unique to them, as a dog would. Some are going to be friendly, others mean, others will be shy. You can't just base an entire species personality on the actions of a few. I've known animals like sharks to be more docile and kind than cats and dogs who can be complete dicks. That's all I have to say, sorry for being so random.
