    I was once a Purist, I was concern about what was the matching wiper rubber blades and many other stuffs, I was missing the real objective, the real point. At 53 I was giving the surprised and awakening of an acute heart attack , 3 stems later I looked at life with a different eye. Now I am the proud owner of a 1983 God knows what it was!!! but Man do I feel So full of energy and Joy every time I step on it!!! It smells, Leaks oil , wrong wiper blades!!! LOL But it has never turn me down!!!!! Love it! Go out there before your kids or significant other may inherit your passion!!!! Go and Fuc.......g drive it!!!!!

      53?! What in the world are you doing to yourself bro?! Don’t you have kids to lookout for? You can’t just die. You have responsibilities!!! 😂

    Well said. There are owners who are museum curators, and others who simply enjoy the art of driving.

    So good, back in the 90s that’s what these cars were about, hill climbs and super sprints were filled with genuine GTR Toranas and modified 911s, I loved those cars much more than the pristine collection cars.

    This is sooooo very true. In order to make just about any road car behave and sound properly it must be modified, at least lightly.

    I couldn’t agree more. My 1983 SC Cab has original black paint with chips and scratches. Drivers seat has a small tear in it. Engine needs to be steam cleaned. But! You know what? My OCD is gone now and really enjoy my car. Same with my 06 997.1. Just drive and enjoy the shit out of them before we’re all EV then cricket noise!

    You’re absolutely right. I’m from the other school, bought the car of my dreams a fairly basic low mileage C2S and drive it once or twice a month because I’m worried about what adding km’s will do to the value. This while living in the shadow of Mont Ventoux in Provence a region covered in incredible driving roads. Great and poignant video.

      If you're going to sell it, then sell it if not go drive her you will spend more money in repaires by not driving her.

    Nice video. Amazing car. Let's not kid ourselves. When they cost much less, a different type of person owned these cars and for different reasons.

    Mate 110%…I’ve got a 996.2 C4S and I’m putting a 997.1 turbo in the back of it. Why? Because it’s more fun

    They are meant to be driven & enjoyed. These cars should never be kept as a garage queen.

    Cars are for dtiving. Porsches are for driving fun. I love my 98 Boxter. It's runs and drives great, but looks like shit so I got it cheap. I garage it and look after it properly and really doesn't cost me much to service myself. I can drive and park it anywhere without any concerns or apprehension.

    • @DuckWhale
      @DuckWhale  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hey Andrew, yeah I hear you. The Boxster is the Porsche experience without the worry as you say, they are a good honest car, where only the drivers know how good they are, and most drivers I know are happy in that knowledge!

    I admit i am on a... fairly generously built fence on this. I think it is possible to modify the car too much to a point it loses it's original character entirely. As long as it adheres to a version of the original Porsche vision then anything is a blast even if it has modifications. If it is some original ~70s Porsche body, put on some honda chassis, turned into AWD and has a Tesla engine, all the power to you, but Porsche is just a shell at that point, which could have been a better fit for a car that has insides of a Porsche.
    With that said, i think Porsche in this video is great.

    Not all 911 owners with matching numbers don't drive their cars or worry about chips and dents. Nor do we keep them like museum pieces.

    Is this car running the standard CIS the 3.0 came with? Sounds amazing. Would love a little detail on the engine and exhaust setup as I consider getting to a similar place with my high miles (past and future) SC

    • @DuckWhale
      @DuckWhale  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, it's a standard 3.0 with CIS heat exchangers and a (well used) dansk exhaust. Also the short ratio gearing and lightened flywheel allow for fast rev up, which ads to the sound quality.

    • @kylegertridge3479
      @kylegertridge3479 7 месяцев назад

      @duckwhale anything to share on my last couple questions? If that’s an old dansk 1-in-2-out sport from stock 3.0 heat exchangers I’m clicking buy now. Thanks!!

    I love fast cars and i study the money system. Later is broken and that's why those fast cars are actually misused as a store of value. I bought as much bitcoin as i could the last two years. With the rise of bitcoin all those misued stores of value, like rare cars and real estate will lose its premium against bitcoin. If you love racing and like to have a car like that one day to actually use it for what it is supposed to do, i suggest you to study bitcoin real fast. The window is closing. hurry up!
