just an important timeline notes for people already watch the video and now went back to relearn them. 5:56 Trigger point release 8:54 pec minor stretching
Discovered my tight chest by accident, started to massage it and found my shoulders felt better, started youtubing and found this and couldn't be happier!
I only have tension on my left side of my chest. At first I was worried it was a heart problem but I’ve had it for over 2 years now. It feels a lot like tension. Does anyone else feel it just on one side?
Exactly the same as me, I’ve had X-rays, ECG’s, bloods, it stresses me out, mine causes breathlessness on the same side aswell , I feel constant tightness
I have this too. Tightness in just my left chest, I constantly feel like it’s my heart but I’ve very fit and healthy and no matter how hard I workout, I’m always fine. However, I constantly think I have heart issues and battle with those thoughts and muscle tightness in my pec thoughts
I recommend if you can, instead of doing the myofascial release via wall, try lying in the prone position on the floor with the lacrosse ball drilling into your pec minor. That worked far better for me than doing it on the wall, as this seemed to cause irritation than release. Note that this is going to be much more uncomfortable than via the wall, but the extra pressure imo is well worth it.
I saved this video!! As a former body builder (and desk jockey) my ribs popped out allll the time! No chiropractor has ever given me an explanation but this makes so much sense
Aloha Doc! Simplified and “effective” explanation! I’m aN LMT in Hawaii, I do more PT style of massage, my bodywork is not the most relaxed, but you will be eventually! My goal is Pain is pleasure (eventually ;-). Pec minor is much more problematic than people think! He is correct for your deskworker/haunched over. Do this consistently. I have many many clients like this and it’s very easy to correct, we all have to help ourselves and let it be part of your routine. (Eventually) You want to be an 80 yr old running circles around your grandkiddos’ ❤ That was a much
I have pain in pec minor and sternum for the past 6 years and 6 months ago it has spread to shoulder and trapz and scapula. Sitting or working on computer makes it worst heats the sternum and pec minor. Ruled out cardio, gastritis, pulmonary, and depression for the past 6 years fighting with back and forth and finally now they say muscles problem. But 6 long years of pain.
Did it ever help you? I’ve had insane pain since September with my pec minor and havent been able to lift or do what I used to be able to do because it hurts too bad.
I think I strained my pec minor yesterday morning as I woke up lying in bed stretching my arms above my head. Had an immediate sharp pinch in that area. It feels a little better today. I have done this many times in my life. It usually happened while doing shoulder presses at the gym.
Yes it can cause Pec Minor Syndrome, which is a variation or type of TOS. Unfortunately our NHS in the UK doesn't generally treat this condition due to them 'not understanding it'.
can't find the coracoid process and can't really feel where the pec minor is but I know it's tight ...been struggling w/ right should issues for 5 years, scapular mobility w/ ac joint issues,...I can't ever really feel a good stretch on my pec minor without the end of the clavicle popping out of the sc joint to compensate the lack of mobility in the shoulder and hypertonic muscle. The repetitive movement of the sc joint in and out I think has stretched those ligaments and made the joint unstable. 😫 Can feel intermittent pain in the sc joint now and haven't really fixed the rounded shoulder...I'll try the ball....in physical therapy now, wondering if I need to see a neurokinetic therapist to help release the muscles
Thanks for sharing this video. I have a question whenever I put pressure on the pec muscles. Or in sub-clavicles or collar bone then I could feel the pain in my trapazeius muscles and rhomboid.
Is it possible to feel pain in the upper inner bicep? I'm guessing it's a tendon right there. Just curious. But the exercise in the video really helped me out
I think so. I been having this issue for a year and a half now, it just started in my chest, kept thinking I had a heart issue (had all tests done, not the heart) and then last few months I started getting numbness in my pinky finger then forearm and now I been getting sharp burning pains down my bicep and sometimes even tricep. Shits the worst..
I have an icd difibilator on the left side of my chest but the big muscle at the left hand side at the armpit is giving me pain for two years I think it's coming from my neck and shoulder I also have costacondritis which does not help
I am so surprised and relieved at reading the comments here. Good to know I'm not alone in this. I stretched a bit too far one day and felt a pop in my ribs. Chest pain, shoulder pain, bicep pain. All for weeks now. When it's your left side you go in to panic mode, if this was my right side I wouldn't bother half as much. It definitely doesn't help that I'm left handed as well. It's so hard to rest.
Same here. I just had this happen to me. I literally moved the wrong way. I went to the er they did tests and said I was fine and it was my rotator cuff and my pec muscles and to do massages and stretching. When I felt the numbness in my left arm I was freaked out and I had 2 panic attacks. It’s getting better so far but still sore.
I have a thick ass chest and been smashing hella pr’s I thought it was my tendons sore but it’s deep into my pec minor. This was beautiful explained. Tried ice food relief. I have a massage gun at good force I use that but I used to have this spikey solid plastic ball that took out soo many tight spots and helped will order one again as I’ve lost it. Ohh and sleeping in the floor helps your posture and back soo much since the floor is hard with a duvet or something slightly thick so it isn’t too painful. It’s basically a natural thoracic extension all night. I’m going back to sleeping on the floor too. Any other tips people do let me know. The area is red after I used to massage gun deep and thoroughly
I have pain under my peck on the left side. I am also finding it hard to breathe. I thought I was having a heart attack but the doctor said it definitely isn’t heart or lung related. Does anyone know what’s wrong with me or has had the same thing?
I have the same thing not really the breathing( happens sometimes) but its a muscle strain in my chest wall and left bicep tendonitis. So it could be a muscle strain for you as well
Thank you! I think I've sprained(?) my lhs minor... Shooting pain, freaking out thought it was a heart issue! Silly me. Thanks for the exercises - I'm on it! 👌🏻
Can this also be related to issues with activating your pec (one side) when working out? I've had this issue for years and my left shoulder has gotten much larger to compensate...so I've stopped working out due to frustration. My posture is also not great...hoping this is the silver bullet I've been looking for for years!
I think my pectoral tightness is due to my hiatal hernia and I have silent reflux. I saw a physio who said it was very tight and she massaged and it eased but to pay for a physio all the time is quite expensive. Hoping these exercises will help
Every time I try to stretch my pec minor, my shoulder blades hurt so bad and it makes me stop. I have rounded shoulders, I have been having chronic neck/upper back pain for over a year and nothing has help me. :(
If u want more force. Lie down on a fixed 10 pound dumb bell (the multicolored ones) you can really feel it. Move your PEC minor side to side on it. Ull feel relief right after.
Yes, this can happen if you're too vigorous with the stretch, or the massage. It can also give you forearm pain. Let it rest and then go back to gentle stretching. Use a doorway, and put each arm up to both sides of the doorway and gently allow your upper body to move into the doorway. All nice and controlled

5:56 Trigger point release
8:54 pec minor stretching
God bless you
Discovered my tight chest by accident, started to massage it and found my shoulders felt better, started youtubing and found this and couldn't be happier!
That was likely the best explanation of the Pec Minor I have heard. It incorporated enough technical detail while also being easy to digest.
Thanks! Glad it helped!
Great simple video. Recovering from surgery and this is exactly what I need for that area.
I only have tension on my left side of my chest. At first I was worried it was a heart problem but I’ve had it for over 2 years now. It feels a lot like tension. Does anyone else feel it just on one side?

Same what to do ?
@@1273mel i get this any ideas on a fix, im guessing its not anything to do with the heart just anxiety/stress :)
Same thing. 3 years. Test results all normal. Feels awful.
I have this too. Tightness in just my left chest, I constantly feel like it’s my heart but I’ve very fit and healthy and no matter how hard I workout, I’m always fine. However, I constantly think I have heart issues and battle with those thoughts and muscle tightness in my pec thoughts
Heeey, thanks! Moving the pec to get that ball in deeper is new to me!!
Constantly having ribs out of place and shoulder impingement this helped immensely
As a Darts Player, this is very helpful.

Wow I just did this and found this comment. I agree

Ive learned to release it myself but jeez its not easy. This is the best video ive seen showing how to do it correctly. Great job doc.
I’ve been trying to do it. It’s very hard. Any tips?
I have this same problem it's very painful thanks for the tips❤

This is a fantastic video! I am having major issues with a tight pec minor currently. This information will help me no end. Many thanks!
Best of luck!
Did it ever help you? I’ve had insane pain since September with my pec minor and havent been able to lift or do what I used to be able to do because it hurts too bad.
Wow I'm impressed. There's a lot of frauds out there but this guy is definitely knowledgeable and knows what he's talking about!
Finally learned that it's the open minor and not the pec major causing my issues. Thanks so much!
Glad it helped!
Been suffering from neck pain (poor posture) and then would cause me spasm. Happy to see this video.
I think I strained my pec minor yesterday morning as I woke up lying in bed stretching my arms above my head. Had an immediate sharp pinch in that area. It feels a little better today. I have done this many times in my life. It usually happened while doing shoulder presses at the gym.
Very important informations. I have rounded shoulders and your informations has been helped me in my exercise routine. Thank you
Great to hear!
Thank you so much for this to BI. I found the stretch and the massage very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
thank you doc 🙏🙏🙏Godbless always
Thanks, my shoulders feel nice and smooth now!
Thank you. I have rounded shoulders and need this.
Thank you!
Is a little bit of lat/shooulder blade pain normal after the doorway stretch?
Thx souch. God bless.
Can tightness in pec minor cause TOS?

Pull ups hang with scapula activation helped me rebuild my spine and shoulder alignments
I had this Problem… I been stretching it and relieved a lot of my pain that I thought was my Heart. Now I know why my EKG and X-ray came out fine
Thanks for sharing this video.
I have a question whenever I put pressure on the pec muscles. Or in sub-clavicles or collar bone then I could feel the pain in my trapazeius muscles and rhomboid.
I have the same experience
That is likely the referred pain from a trigger point in the muscle.
Sounds like Jesse Ventura. Good info along with the interesting voice.
How do you know when it has “released “?
This song`s rhythm makes me want to dance, it`s fantastic!

can it cause scapular winging
Can this be caused by poor posture? I started freaking out even though the pain felt like it was muscular.
Hello is there a way to tell the difference between tight peck muscles versus tight intercostals?
Thank you! I think I've sprained(?) my lhs minor... Shooting pain, freaking out thought it was a heart issue! Silly me. Thanks for the exercises - I'm on it! 👌🏻

This really stretches the pec minor. Other videos where guys offered different streches didn't help at all.
This was fantastic. Woah!
I think my pectoral tightness is due to my hiatal hernia and I have silent reflux. I saw a physio who said it was very tight and she massaged and it eased but to pay for a physio all the time is quite expensive. Hoping these exercises will help
Hi! I've tried this release many times but every time the ball slips down from the pec minor so i can't put some pressure directly on it ☹️
I cant get the 3 videos. It just leeps saying "please wait" but nothing happens 😢
Please send us an email at support@backintelligence.com so we can send those to you 😊
Thank you! Somehow i finally got them! ❤@BackIntelligence

How often a week should this be done
Did you fix your pain?
Really relieving pain from this. Thank you!

i did the compressing and stretching on my left side but now my middle finger, ring finger, and pinky have been tingling for a week...
did u fix

Hi! If this muscle is tight can it cause pain in the bicep?
Yes it can...and down to the elbow
this is amazing, thank you.
You ate a blessing!
i fucking love these guys
this video is great. thank you so much, i really feel the stretch. :D
Nice
Man, that hurt doing!
The ball hurts so bad!!!
ugh. i have too much boob to find this muscle lmao
If u hold the ball on the peck minor or painful area you can fully breathe in without pain 👍
