I think I have a mild tongue tie because it doesn't hurt to rest my tongue to the top of my mouth but I do have the ridges, should I continue to mew as will this correct itself over time I'm only 17
You're amazing, man. This has been one of my biggest struggles since I was a kid-texture issues as a child, swallowing issues as a teen, most likely sleep apnea, and posture issues for as long as I can remember. I took the test, and lo and behold, I have a tongue tie. Looking forward to getting your new program.
Thank you for addressing and brining awareness to Tongue Ties. Not many people do even though it's SO important. I just recently found out I had a severe one and got the procedure to get rid of it and it has been LIFE CHANGING for me. The muscles in my neck and shoulders were so tight that it was impossible for me to bring my shoulders and neck back to stand straight and now I can do it so easily and there's no more tension (I even had tightness and tension all the way down to my calves). Exercises and stretches did nothing to help, no matter how long I did them. I HAD to get rid of the tongue tie since that was the cause of the tightness and tension. The only problem is that the muscles are weak and I have to build those muscles up to be able to maintain good posture (which I'm starting to work on which is how I found this video). I still have some tightness in my jaw to work on, but I'm still doing myofunctional therapy for it, and to strengthen my tongue so I can learn what I should have as a baby which is how to chew and swallow the right way and to hold my tongue to the roof of my mouth always. My sleep has improved significantly that I no longer have fatigue throughout the day and feel rested when I wake up in the morning. This alone made life, school, and work so difficult for me over the years. My tongue tie was the source of a lot of my problems and I have been surprised just how much of my body was affected by it and it frustrates me that it took so long for anyone to make me aware of it despite going to the dentist my whole life and having braces (and going to the doctors for some of the issues the tongue tie caused with no real help). I feel like I can be a normal person now. There are so many people suffering from a tongue tie and have no idea, despite it being so easily noticeable. It took a holistic dentist to make me aware of it and I worked with another holistic dentist for the procedure. They seemed to be the only ones really knowledgeable about the topic (in my case anyway). My mom said my pediatrician noticed it after she explained the difficulty I had breast-feeding but was told it was no big deal. Super frustrating. So thank you again for bringing it up.
I have the same issue with you having a tongue tie, weak tongue and my jaw being pulled backwards and restricting my airway. I am also not able to fully relax my neck and shoulder muscles. Did you have to strengthen your tongue before getting the tongue tie removed? What would you recommend doing? Thank you! 🙏💕
@@jackiek4159 Yeah you have to do exercises and stretches for about ten days before getting the procedure. I would suggest contacting a myofunctional therapist first because they will help you find the best person to do the procedure and I would make sure you choose one that's done it on adults before. I don't know if it matters but whoever does the best job and the patients had good experiences with is what counts. And make sure it's with someone who will use a laser. The laser should be the one that's common but some might still do it the old fashioned way which makes for longer healing and probably more pain. With the laser it didn't take as long to heal, even though I was still careful and ate ice cream for two days lol, and it didn't hurt much, more like it felt sore. I would suggest though if they offer you a prescription for pain meds, take it because even though it's not really painful, you will feel the soreness when doing the stretches you're supposed to do during the healing process, and I found the pain meds to make it a lot easier to do them. Also another tip, if the therapist tells you that you can get by with doing just the therapy, I highly suggest getting the procedure anyway. That's what the therapist said to my mom (who also had a tongue tie) because hers didn't look as bad as mine, but she still had trouble sleeping and had a lot of tension and decided to go with the procedure anyway and turns out hers was actually more significant than it appeared and she's glad she went ahead and did it. Also don't let anyone tell you that tongue ties aren't a big deal. If a therapist or dentist tries to, find someone else who will take it seriously. And make sure you get a follow up within a week in case they don't already have that planned. Ask plenty of questions about what to expect and what to look out for. It's honestly not a huge procedure or anything (you still want to be careful like with any procedure obviously), but it's definitely a life changing one in that you will have so much relief you won't believe it. I hope this helps!

Wow, diving down the rabbit hole and realizing all these issues I never knew I had. Started here to try to fix my posture. Who knew sleep apnea, terrible back/neck posture, tongue posture, tongue tie, receding jawline, etc. all had something in common. I've had low energy and have needed daytime naps since high school. Have spent the last decade trying to figure out why.

Great video. I suffer from fibromyalgia. It's hard to find a cause but I've heard that some research found that people with fibromyalgia have bad breathing habits. One of my symptoms are really tense muscles, especially my neck. Most of the things you talk about in this video apply to me and I think these exercises will become part of my routine. Thank you!

holy shit dude, as soon as you said the common problem is "leaning forward and centre of gravity is off" I adjusted how i was in relation to my centre of gravity and it made an instant difference on my back!!
Thank you Conor for this. I have a very long neck and forward head posture was a problem for me for a long time. Your videos have helped me so much. I learned about keeping my tongue on the roof of my mouth about 10 years ago and it changed my life. I wear a head band at night so that my mouth stays closed and thus my tongue stays where it should and I breath through my nose. What a difference!
I fixed my hunched back and forward head by heavy carries. Heavy backpack, weighted vest or heavy dumbells in each hand work great. They will teach you the optimal way to stand and move. Try carrying your bodyweight with hunched back with head forward, you will have a tough time doing that. Start slow, go for a walk with that extra weight and see how every detail starts to matter.
My old chiropractor had me doing the forward and back things with my neck.. I stopped after a couple of weeks because it wasn't helping at all. And I started focusing more of keeping my pelvic forward while lifting my chest and it has helped my upper back tremendously. Thanks for the confirmation that me doing this correctly now.

After being in a sling for a while on the right side, I notice I have forward head posture, rounded shoulders, my ribs seem further out, got more of an anterior pelvic tilt and it’s harder to breathe when I draw the pelvis into a neutral position. Particularly on the left my lower traps have become weak, the muscles between the scapula and humerus have become tight, the scalene is very tight, and I can’t breathe so we’ll when turning my head to the left. I will definitely be trying these exercises to help correct my posture so I can return to effective training again.

Conor hello thank you very much for your videos. I have a question and I wanted to ask you about it both because of your narration and because you are reliable. How should our back be in a natural position while lying on the ground, should there be a gap between the ground and our back or should it be almost straight, and is it the same for back sports movements, and does this differ in men and women? If you have a video about it, I can watch it, I guess I just couldn't find it.
6:09 - I would never go to a "Qualified Malfunctional Therapist" with my issues. Leave the poor guys alone! They have their own shit to deal with. (put on CC if you don't get it...)
What exactly does having the hips and knees flexed at 90 degrees do? I’ve seen this exercise done in a lot of videos but haven’t seen why or how it works
I can't do a chin tuck. It pinches a nerve deep under the nape of my neck that impinges my shoulder. Something with spending 55 years at a piano may have something to do with that.
Questions Is the tongue supposed to go up and down as i breathe? Dont know how else to exhale through mouth if my tongue is up there. Why do you divide it into sets? Do i need to rest in between? Do I need the towel if i can point my chin up without it?
Hi Conor, This was an awesome video. I had a question about the tongue tie. My mouth closes slightly when I put the tip of my tongue up to my top front teeth. If 100% is wide open then it probably closes to about 75-80% Is that something I need to get looked at then?
Going by your tests in the video, I believe I have a significant enough tongue tie as a causal factor for my forward head posture. Is it advisable to just go and get it cut by a doctor? Are there any issues or risks associated with just going and doing it?
Hello! Please explain to me. If I can't achieve neutrality in the pelvis, ADD (+) on both sides and chest. Is it too early to have a tongue frenulum plastic surgery?
i started living in my car a few months ago posture has gotten fucked and tounge has sunken in my mouth i sing A LOt and with this shitty posture i realize i used to have this posture but it went away from just living life better happened without me actively thinking about trying to do it and my voice had more bass and my singing was different i could switch between note and cliff so easily i’m so curious how many ppl have ability’s they don’t know about bec of posture as well as AS A MAN ppl treat you so different when you’re in between these two things so strange
Belly breathing restricts sternal movement. Your body, over time, will compensate through opening the upper airway aka jutting the head forward. Forward head people are all belly breathers, even if they don't know.
"Both the SCM and scalenes attach to the ribs"... proceeds to show picture of SCM not attaching to the ribs. SCM origin is the clavicle dude and it does not attach to any ribs
I think you're miss informative tbh, I've been doing chin tucks for over a month and they seem to be working for me, not drastic results but my neck does look less missalined than it did before and I was one of those people who had a terrible looking head forward posture.

I can't do a chin tuck. It pinches a nerve deep under the nape of my neck that impinges my shoulder.
Something with spending 55 years at a piano may have something to do with that.
Now I can have the perfect posture for the ✨ BYE-BYE✨ 🤫🧏🏻

i have a scoliosis on my ribcage
Are chin tucks good to improve a military neck (steep cervical spine)?
Do you think it makes sense to strength train the jaw / neck? Do you have recommendations on 5 or 10 minute routines that you like?
Wait, arent those ridges part of the hard palette
Questions
Is the tongue supposed to go up and down as i breathe? Dont know how else to exhale through mouth if my tongue is up there.
Why do you divide it into sets? Do i need to rest in between?
Do I need the towel if i can point my chin up without it?
Skin care reveal pls
Nice idea, but I also lost the rotation in my shoulder and have no chance of even reaching the position I wanted in the video. And now?😢
What about strengthening the muscles on your back and neck?
Hi Conor,
This was an awesome video.
I had a question about the tongue tie. My mouth closes slightly when I put the tip of my tongue up to my top front teeth. If 100% is wide open then it probably closes to about 75-80%
Is that something I need to get looked at then?
Wow thank you for sharing amazing!!!
Great tutorial!
Can I still have results if I have a tongue tie?
O‘ the second exercise should we expand the lower part of the Chest or the lower ribs?
goblet squats and bent over barbell rows help me
I've been mewing for some time now and still have those ridges in my mouth. Will they eventually vanish?
Wait do I touch the tip of my tongue to the front of my front teeth or back?
i started living in my car a few months ago posture has gotten fucked and tounge has sunken in my mouth i sing A LOt and with this shitty posture i realize i used to have this posture but it went away from just living life better happened without me actively thinking about trying to do it and my voice had more bass and my singing was different i could switch between note and cliff so easily i’m so curious how many ppl have ability’s they don’t know about bec of posture as well as AS A MAN ppl treat you so different when you’re in between these two things so strange
great advice!
Are we not supposed to be breathing from the belly rather than chest though (which inevitably causes my rib cage to rise)?
Belly breathing restricts sternal movement. Your body, over time, will compensate through opening the upper airway aka jutting the head forward. Forward head people are all belly breathers, even if they don't know.
Now it's totally confusing. Now we don't know who to believe and not......🤔🤔
"Both the SCM and scalenes attach to the ribs"... proceeds to show picture of SCM not attaching to the ribs. SCM origin is the clavicle dude and it does not attach to any ribs
SCM origin is the sternum
@@viniciuspaciello the origin is the clavicle as well as the sternum yes
Did anybody got benefits from this 90/90 exercise, I have been doing it for my nick tightness and didn’t notice any improvement
How about diaphramatic breathing?
hi man, how can i be in direct contact with you i have some question regarding to my scapular
I have a deep bite will this still fix my forward headposture?

Good question - no! The Beginner BC is for practitioners and trainers. This course is for anyone :)

How about I do whatever I want
Conor I have very tight low back and calves, this leads to toe walking since extending my heel to ground would be too painful, what should I do?
Cheers bro
This does literally nothing for my posture. Nice legs tho bro
I think you're miss informative tbh, I've been doing chin tucks for over a month and they seem to be working for me, not drastic results but my neck does look less missalined than it did before and I was one of those people who had a terrible looking head forward posture.
if your tongue has no place on the palate to rest prepare a 15-k 30-k for the dentist to expand lol
How long do these exercises need to be done for before lasting benefits are visible?
50 years minimum
Tired to get advice and 2 month after, new advice that erase the previous one
Exactly
Dude that second picture is terrible??
