    I've struggled trying to verify nozzle temps in the past. I like your idea of putting the sensor in heat sock. Great idea I hadn't thought of.

    I've been out of the 3d printer tinkering game for too long, I want to do this to my Chiron but I don't think I have the patience to do all of this plus the firmware update 😭 It was the best mod for my CR-10S by far.

    Hi, just wondering if you have or will be doing a firmware video for this project. Thanks in advance!!

    Interesting upgrade you did. I have a Amazon Return Chiron that came with a scratched bed, two clogged nozzles and a torn bowden tube. I've watched a few videos form TH3D which enlightened my to the many wiring issues this machine has. I've also seen several bed wires catch fire or smoke. With the impressive build volume, I'd certainly like to rebuild the thing to be reliable and safe!

      You are correct. The wiring on the Chiron is a bit of a mess and quality can suffer. I ended up removing all the old wiring and used a CANBUS system (only 4 wires from hotend to mainboard). Video should be up in a few weeks on that conversion.

      You can also do the blue tape method so you don't need to heat the bed. Saves money on electricity and I get great adhesion

    This video is maybe the only thing online available now on how to install a hemera! Why does e3d not have any guide on their own products?

    G'day Awesome video and looks great! i want to do the same to a second hand repairable Anycubic Chiron, just finding trouble on what firmware will need to be updated and changed for this set up? If anyone could help that would be great! Thank you

    Nice and clear video, thanks for sharing. One thing to consider is to rewire the hot-end completely with flexible silicone wire as the Chiron's original wire quality is poor and tends to break over time with the movement of the system.

    • @yogitech-3D
      @yogitech-3D  Год назад +2

      Great point! I fully agree with you. I actually had to patch some of the provided wires due to repeated stresses on them. Many of the temperature reading issues (thermistor wires) with the Chiron are caused by what you mention. Anybody doing this kind of conversion should consider upgrading the wiring loom as well.

    Great video, definitely inspired me to make the change however, I can't find a reliable source for the Matrix in the UK but I have found the Hermera available for a reasonable price. Will this still work if I swap out the Matrix for the Hermera without any drastic changes to your instructions?

    • @yogitech-3D
      @yogitech-3D  Год назад

      I have not installed a Hemera; However, I do not believe to be any drastic differences in terms of installing. Yes, the heat-brake is a little different (I believe) but the mounting points should be the same for the extruder. The e-steps are probably different as well but you should do that calibration on any new extruder. The part cooling fan mount is adjustable even if there are variations in the heater blocks height. Motor wiring may be different as well, so you will have to check. Please keep in mind that the mounting here is for a BLTouch probe and not for the original Chiron bed leveling probe. Are you using Klipper or have access to modify the Marlin firmware? I would also recommend getting a new V6 hot-end compatible thermistor.

    Good Evening! I feel stupid for asking but I can't seem to find the remixed file you used that combined the two designs you used to mount to the chiron carrage. Any chance you have a link to it?

      My mistake as it seems I had never uploaded the remix. I have updated the video description with it. And for your convenience, here it is:

    Does your Anycubic Chiron use a Trigorilla 0.0.2 board? I have been having trouble with the firmware getting mine to work correctly. Any advice?

      I used the firmware from th3dstudio. You have to upgrade the screen in order to use their version of Marlin. I just did it and it works great.

    I'm new to this and have a chiron and swapped the hotend and it won't print so am considering making it a direct drive one, is there any extra firmware I need or can I just use the firmware already on my chiron to just get going again? I'm not a big fan of messing about with firmware as when I installed the cr touch on my ender 3 it killed it and now is in parts in a box for spares so want to avoid firmware changes

    • @yogitech-3D
      @yogitech-3D  Год назад

      There are some things that may require some firmware tweaking. For instance, the Matrix extruder comes with a different thermistor then what is stock on the Chiron (NTC3950 is on the Chiron and Semitec 104NT-4-R025H42G is what should come with the Matrix extruder). If you are going to use the new one, you will have to change setting in the Firmware. If you are going to change the probe with something like the BLTouch you will definitely have to make some firmware changes. It really depends on what type of direct drive conversion you are going for. IF you are looking for something like the Hemere or the Matrix extruder, there is no easy way to do it without some firmware tweaking. You could just convert to direct drive with your current hot end and extruder which should not require any firmware updates. However, you motioned your current hotend is not printing. Maybe its something unrelated to the hotend that you need to address first.

    Where did you get more wire for the extruder wire or a silicone wire?

    • @yogitech-3D
      @yogitech-3D  Год назад

      I used the motor wire that came with the extruder and just connected those to the connector where the old extruder was located (ruclips.net/video/SQtYMD4wXpk/видео.html)

    This is far to complex... If i buy a kit it should be plug n play and not need all the diy'ing of wires and brackets. Good video but bad kit!

    • @duviday
      @duviday 7 месяцев назад

      dude its a universal part made to fit any printer, they can't possibly provide all the appropriate brackets to suit each one. It's not even difficult to adapt, if you're struggling to fit this you should consider a different hobby.
