You guys were fun to watch. Just 2 dudes going through the frozen land commenting on the camera. I have been playing around with my fujinon 35mm f1.4 and Viltrox 85mm f1.8 however I am convinced on this lens. I believe it will hit for me all the spots that I need. As Alexi said I like the convenience too and I agree with both of you on all counts. i love how you guys show a "non camera" view and then tell us what focal length the image is next. helps show what the lens can help you get pictures of. most of the other reviews just show pictures of stuff but it doesnt really give you an idea of how far away it is from.

Tamron makes excellent "super zoom" lenses for APS-C. I have the Tamron 18-400mm f/3.5-6.3 Di ll VC HLD on my Nikon D7200, and it's my favorite "photo walk" lens. The quality is exceptional from about 24-400mm. If it has a weak area, it's wide at 18mm, but it's still quite nice except in the corners. If you are a Fuji shooter, don't hesitate to go for a Tamron super zoom lens. They're a lot of fun. No lens changes, so shooting the unexpected composition isn't a problem.

I would really like for manufacturers to make another version of these superzooms. It can be 10x instead of 17x, but to start wide. Something like 14-140 on APS-C would be 21-200 full frame eq. Now that would be an interesting lens.

This fun review reminded me of the pat & mat show but in its finest way!😂 Couldn't stop laughing watching you 2 freezing while doing your best to give the quality content you always do! Very nice job and I do respect your perseverance! I'm not sure if this lens makes any good balance on apsc bodies, even with the big xt-4. But very nice job by tamron, though I wish it was 16mm at the wide or 400mm at the end. Like their DSLR version. Cause if I'm handling something big and unbalanced, then I dn't want to be bothered why I didn't have something a bit wider or longer in many scenes. And last note, IDK why Tamron didn't give those incredibly useful focus hold buttons to any of their apsc lenses. They are not so cheap compared to their fullframe siblings.

Thx for the review. I think the Fuji XF70-300mm is a better choice, why ? because most people will buy a combo xt-4 with 16-55mm or even 16-80mm so it cover already a part of the range of the tamron 18-300mm. My second reason, i can add teleconverter 1.4x or 2.0x to the fujifilm ...something i can't with the Tamron.

The specs say: Using AI technologies, the lens will choose the compensation characteristic for videography at focal lengths of 70mm or less. To me that means something special for VIDEO under 70mm.

Very helpful video, thanks! I own the Fuji X-T4 and have wanted a lens suitable for birding. I saw the Fuji 70-300mm but both B&H and Amazon have not had it in stock or I would have gotten one for Christmas. Then news of the Tamron 18-300 came my way through Pal2Tech. I dislike switching lenses when outdoors so this may be the new super zoom for me. Such a wide range! Sharpness and video continuous autofocus may not be the best but then again I am an enthusiast not a professional photographer. I'll take good enough.
